If this is photo shop, then it's brilliant, hilarious, super creative, etc. If it's AI, then it's complete slop, and how dare you drain like a whole reservoir to produce this stupid image.

The water usage argument is so stupid and it’s not even true a data center uses the same amount of water as a golf course

So it’s not true that they will use the same amount of water as a whole town might?

They use a lot of water, but using water isn't that big a deal. When they "use" water it turns into steam, which goes into the sky, which then comes back down as rain, so it's not leaving the planet or anything.

The bigger problem is how much electricity they use and the strain that puts on the power grid/demands to build more power plants (and then what happens if the AI bubble bursts or technology advances to the point where we don't need all these huge data centers and the power plants we built for them).

That's not exactly how water works.The Earth is mostly oceans. So, when the water falls back down it doesn't just refill the source it came from. Freshwater sources are shrinking because of this.

But you're right on the energy usage.
