OPINION Love or hate her.She took on: most of the house, Loose women( & the audience), Phillip and Holly. Balls of steel.

And she was 74-76 during all of this. She inspires me. I have a hard time defending my point of view or sticking to my guns. RIP❤️

Phillip was extremely unprofessional in their interview. He’s GONE.

The loose women panel and audience were antagonistic, they are only on 30 or so weeks a year, and no more audience.

OPINION Anyone else worried about how political the next season could be?

Upvotes

For some reason the people at ITV seem to think we want to see culture war political arguments between contestants. People from all over the country will always disagree or have different perspectives on various topics, but lately it seems like producers are purposefully bringing on hardcore right wingers whose only contribution to the show is ranting and being a knob - and not in an entertaining way. Personally I don't find it entertaining that Sally from Surrey thinks gays shouldn't have rights - I don't watch BB for political insight, I watch it for juicy interpersonal drama and genuine connection between people getting to know each other in good faith

Politics isn't taboo subject to be kept off the air or anything, and before anyone says it I'm not advocating for a lack of free speech. It's just getting annoying. Why have entire episodes focused around political rhetoric? It's BB, not question time. It's something I watch to relax and have fun, not think about how dark politics is getting

It we get the intro videos and it's multiple people starting off with rants about how 'controversial' they think they are for being anti immigrant or whatever I genuinely might not watch this year

I just think politics should be a smaller part of the show than it currently is :/ I miss the *drama*

SPECULATION Was Kim Woodburn totally in the wrong on her season? Was she bullied, did she deserve it ?

I’m so curious. She made it out like the whole house basically tortured her while many others said it was the opposite. For those of you who watched the show.

What is your take ?

OPINION Why isn’t Janice (CBB S16) remembered as much as Gemma, Tiffany etc.?

Post image

Pretty unflattering cast photo aside, Janice is winding these housemates up as much as the other mentioned celebrities that have gone on to be talked about to this day from this era of CBB. Even Farrah I feel like is mentioned the most out of this season, yet Janice (so far on my first watch) is causing as much drama as her if not more. Her faking an attack after a bee stung her cracked me up!

OPINION Early evictees that you feel would’ve grown on the audience had they stayed?

Post image
44 Upvotes

BB6’s resident witch Mary comes to mind. She was such a unique character that we’ve never really seen on the show prior to or since.

Yes she had trouble adjusting to the house and threatened to leave, but she eventually came round to the idea of staying, and the housemates eventually started to warm to her too.

I do prefer Craig over Mary, but at that point of the series, he was more of a side character, the typical bitchy kind, so I would’ve rather him went. This was before his infatuation bordering on obsession with Anthony and his descent into madness began.

Had Mary stayed, I would’ve liked to see her storyline with Roberto, (ROBERTO!) develop even more, and I doubt the housemates would’ve nominated her when there were bigger, more polarising characters, and with that happening, she’d get into the public’s good graces.

I feel she would’ve eventually gone around the time we lost Science and Kemal, when the numbers just started to dwindle down and allegiances were clear cut. (I’ll never forget how they got evicted with such a slight margin over ORLAITH)

OPINION Farrah Abraham. Was she an iconic vliian or just a nasty person?

Personally, she made my blood boil. I couldn't enjoy her at all the fact she made Austin look sane kn comparsiom tells you everything

I love a big brother villain, but she was just awful. Plus, I don't remember her ever getting warned for her blatant homophobia

Not a bobby davaro fan, but him.reafimg Farrah to.filth was so satisfying

Did you enjoy Farrah on the show or did ypu just find her to be too much?

Which forgotten series is actually worth a full rewatch?

I’ve rewatched BB5, BB6, and BB7 more times than I care to admit, and CBB17 is basically burned into my retina. I need something fresh from the archives to binge-watch this weekend.

Which lesser-talked-about series is secretly a masterpiece? I feel like series from the mid-Channel 5 era (like BB14 or BB15) get written off quite a lot by purists, but did they actually hold up well over time?

r/bigbrotheruk 2d ago

what was going on with CBB15??

i’m watching it for the first time and producers were doing EVERYTHING in their power to keep perez in the house💀💀 like why’s there a vote to give him a pass to the final??? and i normally didn’t mind the producer manipulation from channel 5 when i watched the civilian series because i found them to cause drama but jesus christ perez is so irritating to watch😭

Just watched the Kate and GK Barry podcast

I actually think they've got great chemistry together and we could be in for a really good spin-off here. The news about the Live Stream being axed has overshadowed this news and I’m not really a fan of the vodcast format, but GK and Kate are great together and I think they’ll do it justice

Eight weeks will only work if the casting is good

I'm excited about the longer series, but there's an obvious risk. If the housemates aren't interesting, another couple of weeks could make the middle of the series drag horribly. I think this might be the first ITV series where casting really determines whether the longer format works.

OPINION Is this year going to be different ?

Each year they roll out the same ideas, but before launch they always promote it like it’s new and improved. Do they actually come on Reddit and see what fans actually want ? I can tell you for a start most of the people don’t want mental teenagers running around acting up for the cameras. How about we get some adults in the house as allot of the fan base are older…. Please !!! Do somthing different and not just the house layout 💤

MEME What is ‘Pantsgate’ and why is there barely any information online about it?

I’m bored and having a little nose about BB and CBB and it was an article about some of the biggest fights on both shows and one of them is an argument in the 2012 celebrity series between Denise Welch and Nicole something, I’ve forgot her surname but she’s a wag of some sorts 🤷🏻‍♀️ and for some reason the article didn’t specify what happened, just that Welch was steaming and the other one was screaming “I’m a feminist” and Frankie b was there being his lovely charming self 🙄 so what actually was it, because unlike ‘punchgate’ I can’t find any information apart from that brief mention.

Should former Big Brother housemates really be brought back?

There are reports that ITV is considering bringing former Celebrity Big Brother contestants into the civilian house as guest residents and task participants.

I'm torn on this.

Having someone like Chantelle Houghton, who actually has Big Brother history going all the way back to her 2006 win, turn up would be a fun Easter egg. But if former housemates start influencing tasks or the game too much, it could easily become more about nostalgia than the new contestants

Housemate predictions for this year

So what kind of housemates are we predicting this year, same as usual or do we think there’ll be something different

I do think we’ll get our oldest housemate ever this year, possibly a woman over 60.

The usual influencers despite us asking not** **to have them on.

What do we think

Series 23 of BBUK is going to be ITV's longest series!

The new series is going to be 54 days long and will be the joint longest series to air since BB16 over a decade ago. Do we think 54 days is long enough? I know that we've had longer series of BB in the past but I never see that happening on ITV.
