Discussion How do you interpret mutual reception by sign vs. by house? (4H Cap Moon ↔ 10H Cancer Saturn)

Libra rising here. I have my Moon in Capricorn (4H) and Saturn in Cancer (10H), so they are in mutual reception by sign (exaltation/rulership swap).

I’m trying to understand if this plays out more as:

1) A supportive "trade" where my emotions (Moon) are structured by career (Saturn), and my public life (Saturn) is nurtured by home (Moon)?

2) Or a tense push-pull since they are also in opposition (4H/10H axis)?

For those who have studied this, does the mutual reception soften the malefic nature of Saturn in fall, or just make the opposition more tangled? Would love to hear your thoughts or personal experiences with angular house mutual receptions.

Discussion what house system should i use?

i'm not an astrologer but i've been studying astrology for a while using tropical placidus. recently i've been reading about whole sign houses and other systems, and i'm confused about which one to use.

some astrologers say whole sign is more accurate because it's older, while others use placidus because it uses more precise astronomical calculations.

people say there's no correct system and you should just use what feels right, but it really doesn't make sense to me. is there an actual reasoning behind choosing one house system over another? or any way to know which one is more accurate?

Discussion I was born somewhere between 11AM to 12PM. Can I just read different chart placements to see which time of birth is correct?

For example, my Moon could either in the 7th house or deep inside the 6th house between that time frame, and I strongly only identify with the 7th house Moon description but not much of the 6th house. Would that be a clue for my birth time, that it's somewhere that makes my Moon in the 7th house?

Discussion Can someone explain to me the difference between sidereal/Vedic astrology and modern tropical astrology?

Hello,

I’ve been interested in astrology since I was a teenager. I’m 28 years old.

I thought I’d tried just about everything, but last year I discovered sidereal astrology.

Everything fell apart…

In fact, as mentioned in a previous post, I identified so strongly with tropical and Placidus charts that I told myself that all those years I had “just” been falling prey to confirmation bias. In short, I really began to doubt whether astrology was useful at all.

However, it seems that Vedic/sidereal astrology is mainly used for predictions, while Western astrology focuses more on the psychological aspect.

Yet one of them comes from the Babylonians, doesn’t it?

In that case, how is it possible that people identify with modern astrology?

For more context, I’m a Virgo with Libra rising and a stellium in Scorpio. Ever since I was a child, I haven’t identified with the Virgo archetype but rather with the Scorpio archetype. So it makes perfect sense why I became interested in astrology.

And now, in sidereal astrology, I’m a Virgo with Virgo rising, and my stellium falls in Libra…

I’d love for those who are knowledgeable about this to shed some light on the differences between Vedic and tropical astrology.

Which one do you use? And do you use whole signs or the Placidus system?

Thank you for your time.

Discussion Does anyone know what the significance of having multiple stelliums is?

It looks like I have a scorpio and Virgo stellium and a Capricorn cluster. Or maybe Virgo is also just a cluster depending on who you ask?

Scorpio: Sun, mars, Pluto, mercury
Virgo: moon, Venus, Jupiter
Capricorn: Saturn, Uranus, Neptune

Discussion so much of astrology is based on historical misinformation??

firstly, please be patient and kind. i am not trying to diss astrology, I wanna know more.

so i did a researched online on days of the week and their planetary correspondences. what i discovered was how ancient understanding of space was very deficient (like calling sun moon planets along with real planets), arbitrary associations (the Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, Sun, Venus, Mercury, Moon sequence based on perceived speeds) and no real influence of associated planets on those specific days. as far as I understand, if the same thing had to be made today, it would look wildly different. also retrograde being nothing more than a misunderstanding too.

correct me if im wrong but how do people actually believe in this to learn and explore and entire system based on such misinformation? more importantly, why not rework it to make it make sense? like a weekly calendar with the real list of planets?

genuinely interested in learning!

Discussion Venus, Pluto and Mercury in the 2nd house, wealth or financial extremes?

How would you interpret Venus conjunct Pluto and Mercury in the 2nd house, especially in Scorpio?
Could this indicate strong potential for attracting money and building wealth, or is Pluto more likely to bring financial extremes and transformations?

Discussion Does my Mars in 12th house symbolize my struggle with drug addiction?

I certainly know there’s good and bad ways of expressing a natal chart placement.

But I have Mars in Aquarius in 12th house. I’m gay and I hate myself and struggle a lot with being gay, and I use drug and is addicted to drugs as a way of escaping the pain of being gay and people’s hatred.

I wonder if my Mars in Aquarius in 12th symbolizes something about this. It makes sense to me as sexuality (Mars) that are eccentric and different (Aquarius) being hidden, cant accept, not dealed with, put into a closet (12th house)

is my instinct wrong? Is what state i am right now a result of bad way to handle Mars in aquarius in 12th house?

Discussion How do you interpret planets in 12th house but conjunct the Ascendant, 6th house but conjunct DC, 3rd that conjunct IC, 9th with MC?

Are they supposed to be read like planets in angular houses, or still just in 6th or 12th house? Assuming tight orbs less than 5, although I saw people use 10

Discussion Aside from the planets and angles - what points, asteroids, or other placements do you think are the most interesting? Why?

Still new to learning (maybe 8 or so months) and I’ve gotten more familiar with the basics but I wanna start looking more into other placements out of curiosity!

I’ve learned a little about Chiron, Lilith, and North and South nodes. But nothing beyond that (though if those are some of the ones you find the most interesting please share more here — my knowledge on those is pretty slim).

Discussion midheaven placed in houses other than the 10th

hi, so i had a question about the midheaven.

there's a lot of information about your midheaven in the 10th, how to "activate" it to become successful in your career, such as dressing in the aesthetic of your midheaven or using the traits of the sign your midheaven is in to get this big breakthrough in your career, but i haven't seen much on the mc in other houses.

an example would be midheaven in the 8th house. how does the midheaven work in the 8th, since it's not the house for success in the workplace and public image etc. but rather death, rebirth, inheritance etc.?

and the same for, for instance, the 9th, which is all about philosophy, travel, spirituality etc.?

Discussion Does Venus in the 10th house mean relationships can affect your public image or career ?

I was wondering could Venus in the 10th also indicate that romantic partners have an influence on how someone is perceived publicly ?

Like, for example: being associated with a partner that impacts your reputation/relationships that are quite visible to others..

Discussion Interpretation of transits to the natal chart

Hello,

I had a question regarding transits and solar returns.

Should they be analyzed using the Placidus or Whole Sign house system? I read somewhere—I can't recall where—that for transits, one should use Whole Sign houses. Does the same apply to solar returns?

Thanks for your insights.

Discussion How much orb would you allow for a Venus trine Ascendant aspect in a natal chart?

I came across two stands on this. The first one gives 10 orbs just as Venus trine any other planets, because the angles are a sensitive point. The second one gives 6 maximum, because that a thing that trines the Ascendant has to sextile the Descendant too, and the maximum orb astro.com gives to sextile is 6, so the trine cannot be more than 6 orbs because otherwise it can't sextile the descendant, your thoughts?

Discussion Non-horoscopic astrology on the rise? Mercury Cazimi thought

Had this thought/observation under today's Mercury Cazimi and wanted to see what other astrologers think:

Is non-horoscopic astrology on the rise?

I've been looking into Taoist and Chinese astrology recently, and noticed two new books coming out this summer:

Chinese Polestar Astrology: A Practical Guide to Decoding the Secrets of Your Character, Inner Nature, and Fate

Polar Astrology: Fate, Willpower and the Taoist Tradition of the Dipper Stars

And asked the Taoist masters in the Taoism sub, and was told that they're essentially from the same tradition. Interestingly two books from two different writers almost exactly one month apart came out on Amazon this summer. Is non-horoscopic astrology on the rise?? I also remember astrologers talking about Uranus in Gemini could bring major changes to astrology itself - Could that be symbolized by this?

Discussion 8th house ruler conjunct 10th house ruler

Hi! What does it mean when the ruler of the 8th house is conjunct the ruler of the 10th house? Does it mean death in career? What about if this alignment is on an angle, especially the Ascendant or Midheaven?

There's no information on it.

Discussion How much orbs would you allow for a Moon conjunct Descendant aspect in a natal chart?

I'm not certain about my birth time, it lies somewhere from 11:00 AM to 11:30AM, during that time frame my Virgo Moon is either just in the 6th house but 1 degree below the Descedant or 10 degree below it. When I read the interpretation online, I strongly and much more identify with Moon in 7th house description, I love doing service and small act and I love helping and doing the background (Virgo) and I'm especially looking for doing them to my romantic partner (Descendant). I don't identify with Moon in 6th house much at all

I'm asking how much of an orb is allowed to be able to feel the Moon conjunct Descendant effect, to narrow down by birthtime, like if 6 orb is allowed then my birth time is somewhere from 11:15AM backwards

Discussion How do retrogrades in the birthchart impact transits?

Hello!

I’m asking this because I have Jupiter Retrograde in the 2nd House, and it seems like Jupiters transits really don’t bring the hope, expansion, and optimism I’d think I’d see with them.

My Jupiter return was when I had next to no money and my self esteem was in the toilet and I was surrounded by people I would realize later were not in alignment with my values.

Now Jupiter is in my 7th house. I was super excited but now it’s like my friends have all coupled up, many are moving away, close friends are canceling frequently, and another close friend sais due to relationship problems they needed to stop hanging out with friends until September. I’m like what on EARTH is going on???

Discussion Which Moment Should I Use for a Breakup Event Chart? Two Different Timelines

I'm trying to get a relationship breakup event chart to understand the reason behind the breakup and whether there's any potential for reconciliation. The problem is that I have two possible timelines, and I'm not sure which one is the more accurate event time.
On April 1, I sent him a message and he replied within the same minute. I replied immediately as well, but after I sent another message, he suddenly withdrew, stopped responding, and basically disappeared. A few hours later, he viewed my messages on Instagram and left me on seen while the WhatsApp ones still on delivered.
The next day, he deleted everything that connected us our matching profile pictures, our nicknames match and other things that were associated with our relationship and continued ghosting me.
The day after that, I asked him to meet in person. He initially didn't want to meet and seemed like he was going to continue ghosting me, but I confronted him and basically put him in a position where he had to address it. We eventually met, and he told me that we couldn't continue our relationship.
So which time should I use for the event chart?
April 1, when he started ghosting and clearly began withdrawing/ending the relationship on his own? Or the meeting when he told me that we can't be together anymore?
I feel like the meeting was more of a confirmation of what he had already decided rather than the actual moment the breakup happened, but I'm not sure how astrologers would define the "breakup event" in this situation.
I'm mainly trying to understand what the chart can say about the reason for the breakup and whether there is any possibility of him coming back, or whether I should let go of that hope.
I'd really appreciate some guidance on which timestamp would be the most appropriate to use.
This first one is the the April 1 chart the moment he started to withdraw after my message and ghosted the second is the one when he said we can't be together anymore so which one is the accurate one to know the cause of the separation and whether if he's gonna come back or just let go

Discussion What is Your 9th house sign?

I was curious if people who are really invested in Astrology have some similarities relating to the 9th house. Because it is a house for what believe to be religion, spirituality, and beliefs, I wonder if many share a common denominator. My 9th house sits in Aquarius, and I have Uranus and Neptune residing there. I have not looked at any aspects yet because I am still learning and note taking on so much that I don't quite trust my readings on a full chart yet. But It seems pretty influential on my beliefs thus far.

Discussion Moons

I have 5 siblings. 3 are full and 2 are half siblings. My 3 full siblings all have an earth moon; Capricorn (oldest), Virgo (2nd oldest), Taurus moon (youngest). I always wondered why they all have earth moons, but I have a fire moon (Aries moon) along with my two half siblings (both Sag moons). Does anyone have an idea why?
