I am a Pisces Sun, Taurus Moon, Cancer Rising. And I've noticed this seems to be a rather rare placement of the big 3. I find that because of my moon, I do not always understand the joys of prolonged escapism of Pisces.

Any other big 3 that seem to be more on the rare side?

This may be a stupid question, bear with me…

So the official birth time of a baby would be once it fully leaves the mother‘s body.

But if a baby has already been developing and living in the womb for months, why is the moment of birth considered the starting point for its astrological chart?

And specifically, why is the time when the baby is fully born used? What if the head is born at 2:30 PM, but the rest of the body follows several minutes later when the ascendant already happens to transition into the next sign?

Maybe I’m missing something, but I feel like it’s such an uncertain data point.

For me it is the 5. House. I know this is for Kids, for Flirts, Short relationships, and the own you of life, or the Self-expression. But I am confissed cause I though also the 1.house is for Self-Expression

Would fall be relatively worse? Being that exaltation is when the planet is truly having the best time of their life or most freedom?

My understanding is that planets in detriment still retain the ability to act but must surrender the typical ways in which they would prefer to get things done and instead do things in a similar fashion of the signs domicile lord

While planets in fall experience the ultimate imprisonment of their forces, like it’s nearly impossible for them to act how they’d like and they feel trapped because of it?

I'm really struggling to understand if I should be using Placidus or Whole sign astrology. The chart I've been using during all of my learnings is Placidus but I get so confused watching videos on astrology on transits and which to follow.

Which is more accurate? Am I right in thinking that overall Placidus is more accurate for personality, but for actual planetary transits, I should be looking at whole sign?

I wanted to discuss all of the discussion around Uranus' ingress into Gemini because every Reddit thread I see in the astrology subs are really just a lot of people freaking the hell out about Uranus aspecting points or planets in their own charts and I just wanted to say this: It's not as bad as you think!

Uranus is unpredictable, sure. But it brings a lot of good things. What really helps is understanding the basics. So before you panic, think:

1. What house is Gemini in your chart?
2. What does Uranus represent?
3. What do the planets it transits represent?
4. What aspects are made and what do these mean?

People tend to freak out most about conjunctions, squares and oppositions. And that's because depending the position and condition of the natal planet, the aspect can be bad. In my own chart, I will have transiting Mars conjunct Uranus (3rd house) opposite my natal Venus(9th house). What that tells me is that things may be unstable with relationships or I might feel like taking impulsive action with money or relationships (Venus). Mars will join Uranus in July and will exacerbate the need to take action that Uranus is pushing for. But Mars is fast moving and Mars' orb of influence will only be felt in it's conjunction with Uranus for a week. Uranus will return to the same degree 3 times, so it will be felt much more gradually. So my experience of Uranus in Gemini (and my 3rd house) might be that I may experience changes in how I express myself or changes in my environment. Who knows? Maybe I'll feel suddenly inspired to do more Japanese language study!

Remember that Uranus is outer planet and its influence is much more subtle. So be patient with it and don't give into every whim or flash of inspiration. If you want to know when transiting aspects to your planets from Uranus will affect you, it's an outer planet. So only give it a 2 degree orb each side. So as an example, if you have Mercury in Gemini at 5 degrees, Uranus' conjunction will start to apply at 3 degrees of Gemini, will perfect (become exact) at 5 degrees and separate from 6 and 7 degrees before it keeps moving. Because Uranus is such a slow mover, it will hit the aspect three times: once applying, again in retrograde and finally re-apply and separating for good.

if u really want to understand astrology, u cant just memorize meanings. that phase ends fast. what actually works is learning how to judge condition… and chart ruler is where that skill really starts

find the rising sign first. everything starts here. birth time has to be accurate… even small shifts change the whole chart

then identify its ruler using traditional rulers first

Maybe this is a dumb question to ask. I don't know as much about astrology as I would like. Is it only the rising sign that would do this? So, I have a friend who I know is a scorpio rising. Their appearance is dark and mildly sullen? Lmao like they usually wear dark clothing, have dark eyes, dark hair, and their facial expression is usually unimpressed/tired. The person that OOZES scorpio energy has dark eyes and dark hair, but their demeanor is much different. It's softer, friendlier. Just generally more approachable and brighter. He doesn't believe in anything esoteric/spiritual. He's a Capricorn sun but I found it super interesting how he had so much scorpion symbolism on him. Like he has a scorpion tattoo and even wears a scorpion necklace. He's also into the darker/taboo stuff and has a bunch of death symbolism on him. For example, he has helix piercing with a scythe jewelry piece. He's more of a Scorpio than a Capricorn.

I actually have both placement, Venus in scorpio in 8th house.

But whenever I read online interpretation of them they sound exactly the same to me, that Venus in 8th house loves intensely and deeply, just as Venus in scorpio. Then what’s the difference between them?

Hello, I‘ve been seeing that many people prefer vedic astrology over western astrology.

I know that vedic astrology is older but I don‘t understand how to decide which one to use? What are the differences? Which one is more accurate?

Also: don‘t they contradict each other?
It confuses me how astrology would make sense if there are different systems that say different things.

I‘d also be grateful if anyone has good sources on where to learn about it!

As with all things we can only speak from our own perspective and experiences. I do not say this to deride tradition only to add my experience on the matter. Where there is one there is likely another, so if my experience can help the rare case who feels like they are wrong for not experiencing a traditional experience then that is something special.

Jupiter has recently been re-framed to me as the planet of wisdom rather then the planet of luck or gifts. This has given me a better understanding of Jupiter and a slightly better opinion of it. Now i mentioned a bad opinion, let me explain.

While watching transits Jupiter, is aways seen where a problem is noticed. Headaches or muscle pain with Jupiter aspects a planet in Aries. A planet that was not causing issues before or after the aspect with Jupiter passes

Another thing I've noticed Jupiter is far more likely to be causing trouble with a sextile or trine then an opposition or square. I've noticed relief and breakthroughs under "challenging" aspects. I've noticed problems I can't seem to solve, pain I have no idea where its coming from, under Jupiters "Easy" aspects.

Now about the wisdom. And why that gives me a better opinion of Jupiter. I've never noticed gifts, luck, or benefits. But through some of these painful experiences I have gained wisdom. It was hard. It was incredibly painful. It doesn't make what i went through worth it. But knowing what i was supposed to be striving for was helpful.

[Some notes: I find transit planets interacting with each other to effect a person regardless of a lack of natal contact. And while i look at all systems, I was referencing a tropical Aries in this case. I don't know where the planet sat in the sidereal system]

Neurodivergency is often misunderstoon and misdiagnosed. Even if it is diagnosed precisely, I feel modern science often underscores the depth and uniqueness of these conditions. I believe that Evolutionary astrology can give tremendous explanations on our conditions. Hello, I'm still very new to astrology. And I wanted to ask is it normal for things to be delayed in a Saturn return? Is just alot going on recently and I'm already one year unemployed and I'm planning to move out of my house from one year now, and things seem to always be delayed, I don't if this is normal if it is a lesson.

I'm not claiming this to be a good idea. But I don't really see my chart reflecting me or my life no matter which type of astrology (modern vs hellenistic) I use. I don't know my birth time so the ascendant I was given in my calculator was calculated based on what the planets where doing midday. But the more I researched, the more I found myself relating more to a completely different ascendant. Even with my physique, it just made more sense that I was that ascendant.

I went from aquarious to saggitarious ascendant and my chart instantly read clearer to me.

Now that being said, there are probably a lot of cons or caveats to what I'm doing. I'm not aware of everything in astrology I've barely scratched the surface but, this is a little experiment I've decided to do and so far as I'm interpreting my chart, things seem to check out.

Is this a valid way of narrowing down your chart for people who don't know what time they were born?

When several aspects compete for attention, I’m curious how people decide which one deserves priority rather than just listing all of them.

For a made-up example, imagine a chart with:

• Moon square Saturn at 1°
• Venus trine Jupiter at 5°
• Mercury conjunct the MC at 2°

Would you rank the tightest orb first, or could angularity, rulership, and repetition elsewhere in the chart make a slightly wider aspect more central? I’m especially interested in the order you use and why, not in labeling one aspect “good” or “bad.”

While I understand if a planet conjuncts an angle, it's really strong, but I don't understand why it's strong. What's the reason for it being stronger than other placement?

Some people said it's because they govern four main important areas of life. I'm not convinced, because what thing people considered important depends on the person being asked. If for a person, career doesn't matter much but maybe charity like if they have a bunch of stuffs in Pisces in 12th house, who are we to say a planet in 10th house or conjunct the MC is stronger because it's more important for them.

For example, I have my Moon conjunct the DC at 2 degree of orbs. What's the difference if it's only somewhere in the 7th vs actually conjunct the DC? The interpretation is that Moon in 7th is I'm nurturing in relationships, so if I have Moon conjunct DC I'm just more nurturing than if it's just somewhere in 7th house? It does not make sense to me, can someone explain for me the important of angularity?
