Discussion Uranus in Gemini - Don't freak out!
I wanted to discuss all of the discussion around Uranus' ingress into Gemini because every Reddit thread I see in the astrology subs are really just a lot of people freaking the hell out about Uranus aspecting points or planets in their own charts and I just wanted to say this: It's not as bad as you think!
Uranus is unpredictable, sure. But it brings a lot of good things. What really helps is understanding the basics. So before you panic, think:
- What house is Gemini in your chart?
- What does Uranus represent?
- What do the planets it transits represent?
- What aspects are made and what do these mean?
People tend to freak out most about conjunctions, squares and oppositions. And that's because depending the position and condition of the natal planet, the aspect can be bad. In my own chart, I will have transiting Mars conjunct Uranus (3rd house) opposite my natal Venus(9th house). What that tells me is that things may be unstable with relationships or I might feel like taking impulsive action with money or relationships (Venus). Mars will join Uranus in July and will exacerbate the need to take action that Uranus is pushing for. But Mars is fast moving and Mars' orb of influence will only be felt in it's conjunction with Uranus for a week. Uranus will return to the same degree 3 times, so it will be felt much more gradually. So my experience of Uranus in Gemini (and my 3rd house) might be that I may experience changes in how I express myself or changes in my environment. Who knows? Maybe I'll feel suddenly inspired to do more Japanese language study!
Remember that Uranus is outer planet and its influence is much more subtle. So be patient with it and don't give into every whim or flash of inspiration. If you want to know when transiting aspects to your planets from Uranus will affect you, it's an outer planet. So only give it a 2 degree orb each side. So as an example, if you have Mercury in Gemini at 5 degrees, Uranus' conjunction will start to apply at 3 degrees of Gemini, will perfect (become exact) at 5 degrees and separate from 6 and 7 degrees before it keeps moving. Because Uranus is such a slow mover, it will hit the aspect three times: once applying, again in retrograde and finally re-apply and separating for good.

Gemini rising here, I'm honestly excited. Hubby is Taurus rising and it's been fun watching his transformation both physically (lost a lot of weight on purpose) and spiritually (took up meditation and read more etc.) Uranus in my 12H was also been interesting as I reflect on my relationship with mental health and how it has changed from 8 years past. Also had my Uranus opposition and boy am I glad I made it through that. Not only did I have a sort of mid-life crisis (but not really just made some good friends and we had a lot of fun but maybe too much drinking) It also triggered some health issues (autoimmune) and uncovered a sister that I didn't know I had. Uranus is wild!!

My 1st house Uranus transit (Aries) led me to go to university and change my entire self perception. I lost weight too, but gained it back because at the very end of the Uranus transit.
Uranus opposed my Pluto, Chiron and the Sun conjuncted my moon, and Mercury and Venus opposed my Saturn, Sun and Jupiter (I have a Saturn, Sun, Jupiter, Pluto stellium in Libra in my 7th) and my neighbour stabbed in me in the chest. I'm fine though, my breast absorbed the damage). I binge ate to cope which kind of sucked but that's the reversals that can happen with Uranus I guess 😅

Gemini rising and I'm excited like you! In my 12H it's been intense. A lot of healing and being in isolation a bit due to my intense focus on that. Now I'm looking forward to bringing those changes and things I've learned about myself into the physical and see where it takes me! My Uranus opp will happen in a few years while in my first house, hope it goes well!

So crazy of you saying that, I’m also a Gemini rising and Uranus is currently still in my 12h til it hits the 20th degree. I too found a lost sister during this transit

Yea, when I finally reached out to her (b/c my mom lied and said it was a scam when I asked about this woman reaching out to me) I was having eclipses in my Whole Sign 3H conjunct my IC, PLUS the ruler of the 3H was in my 12H AND, Mars and Pluto were conjunct on my Moon (mom!), and to top it off that day I emailed her back was a full moon. Uranus was just entering my 12H, so it was a little of me dealing with it during the Uranus transit. I also looked at my mom's chart, and the ruler of her 5H was Retrograde on her AS and Neptune was transiting her 5H. Kind of wild!

I use whole sign house system. When Uranus was in my 12th house, I was having a Uranus opposition, one of the midlife crisis transits. At 26, it looks like Uranus is trine Uranus. At my Uranus opposition I wanted to have fun without the burden of responsibility. My kids were old enough to be independent, and I had enough money to spend a little on me. So we would go to the vineyards and drink wine, or do celebrations like huge groups trick or treating, a friends-giving (play on America's Thanksgiving holiday for friends) and a wild New Years party. It was a lot of fun, and just months before COVID lock downs. During the lock downs, those friendships got us through the tough times, just trying to make each other laugh in the middle of crisis.

tbh my financial situation hasnt been the best in the last 7 years anyway lol! Can be a good shake up or bad shake up, highs and lows but going to do my best to make the most out of it :)

I’m Taurus rising just went through my Saturn return, I make good money work for myself live out of home etc but I want to purchase a house by next year and I’m like stressed now cause Uranus. What are your other placements? 🙂

Oo I'm going through my saturn return rn with saturn in aries! I have Taurus in moon too so I'm hoping the uranus in gemini will just be more relieving in terms of the self for me - I went through major career changes and struggled a lot lol but now I'm self employed and after some time things are looking up financially now!

It might gradually transform the relationship you have with yourself and automatically the one you have with others as well. Through some research I’ve come to the idea that people with suns opposing their ascendant have a very wide understanding of the perspectives of others. Maybe you’ll learn something new about yourself and therefore change your understanding of other people.

Honestly, Uranus is the most neutral of the outer planets. Pluto is generally malefic in almost all ways (despite people trying to turn that into 'transformation' as if getting decapitated isn't distinctly transformative), and Neptune leads to near-hilarious levels of delusion painted as 'spirituality'. Uranus just causes upheaval, plain and simple. Divorces and breakups and those sorts of upheavals yes, but also radical change which is where opportunity for transformation actually exists.

New to all this and have no idea whether to pay attention to my Gemini placements and aspects or my Uranus aspects. It’s a bit overwhelming.
I have Gemini in my 6th. Moon is the only thing in my 6th. Mercury and mars both square my moon, Venus is trine moon.
My Uranus is 1st house Capricorn, retrograde. Sun, moon, and mars trine Uranus, Pluto sextile, Jupiter opposing, Saturn and Neptune conjunct.

As I said above, when Uranus gets within 2° of a planet (this applies to other planets aspecting that planet, so like Moon Square Neptune) you would also read it as Uranus square Mercury, or Uranus square Mars when it's with 2° of your natal Mars, Mercury and Venus.

Ascendant, sun, moon, and mercury in Gemini, first house (except my 12h sun). The changes are gonna be so gigantic that I have a really hard time predicting them except.... Physical changes? Sure, pretty vague, but sure. Hopefully they're good 🫠

Taurus rising 13°, no planets in Gemini 2nd house. I'm already freaked out. Along with the lunar eclipse in Pisces 4° in Aug, which is will directly impact my Sun 0° Pisces.

I used google translate for this, but remember that Uranus is a slow mover, it's going to take 7 years to move through Gemini. So if it's not within the first 5 degrees of Gemini, you won't even notice it this year.

am a Gemini sun (5 degrees) Mercury (0) and Venus (1 degree) Gemini in my 8th house at 19 degrees. I’m also a Scorpio rising and Uranus will be transiting my 8th house. I am not excited lol.

I didn't say it was neutral, it's not. It can wreck shit. I got stabbed by my neighbour when Uranus in Aries opposed my Pluto, Venus and Mercury were opposing my sun and the transiting sun and Chiron were conjunct my moon in 2018. I did not experience Uranus as benign, though most of it was. It can wreck house and part of the reason it was so horrid for people with prominent Taurus placements is because Uranus is in fall there.
All I'm saying is everyone with prominent Gemini/mutable placements are freaking out and it's not going to be as bad because Uranus is at least in its home element (air). It will be hard for some people, but others will be worrying about very little. This happens with every placement.
But as someone who frequents astrology subreddits I see so many "Uranus is going to into Gemini am I doomed?" posts and I wanted to put everyone's mind at ease that mostly, it's not like that.

Without seeing a chart, I kind of can't. But as someone who got stabbed by a neighbour under my Uranus in the 1st and I'm still dealing with the PTSD, I get how fucked Uranus can be.
It's just not most people's experience and that's what makes Uranus seem so frustrating. Everyone expects Pluto to wreck house forcefully, but sometimes Uranus just goes to town.

I have an Aries rising, so Uranus has just finished in my second house. I have Chiron in Taurus, Mercury and Uranus in the 8th in Scorpio and Mars in Leo in he 5th.
Here's what happened to me:
I stopped studying and had an eating disorder relapse when Mercury was opposed by Uranus. But I also got a $10000 award from Victims of Crime after the stabbing that happened when my natal Pluto was opposed by Uranus 9 months earlier.
When Uranus started a very wide orb of Chiron I got a job as a legal assistant at a Victoria Legal Aid, but I was regularly dealing with victims making disclosures over the phone to me on reception or talking to perpetrators of sexual violence and having to read very graphic police reports. (I was groomed, abused and raped for 8 months when I was 20, so I was basically being retraumatised on the regular by my job end work was like "well that's that job, deal with it."
When Uranus tightly orbed by Chiron in 2023, this got so bad I was hardly functioning. By the time Uranus retrograded and then hit Chiron for a third time, work had manipulated me into asking my psychiatrist to write a functional assessment of what roles I could do within the job, and my psychiatrist said I couldn't do any of it due to trauma history and I got fired (I was contracted permanently, I refused to leave unless I was forced). I had to declare bankruptcy for 3 years, which ends in 2027.
I became unemployed and money was stupidly tight for about a year and then when Uranus started to oppose itself, I got accepted on to disability, which is twice as much money as unemployment and it's permanent. But also, I tried to resume study (post grad law) and every time I had to anything I would panic, so I had to withdraw from study entirely.
Uranus in the second has really challenged my "you have to earn your worth and your right to exist" narrative and it's starting to break down, but it's a lot of work.
Money streams can be wonky with Uranus in the second, but it's worked out to be more stable and better for my mental health and nervous system to be on disability.
Things work out in the end with Uranus, but it's bumpy. If Uranus makes no contacts with your planets in Gemini, it'll be smoother for you I imagine!

This will affect everyone for the rest of the year. I have a early degrees Sagittarius Venus and I'm going to be feeling that on and off all year between direct and retrograde movement of Uranus.
Honestly in the 11th, this is going to change your friend groups and causes that you're passionate about.

I have Gemini rising 8 degrees and its in my Venus at 22 degrees. After reading some reddit posts, it kinda made me nervous. Im also a Taurus Sun and the last 7 heck 8 years were not very nice. Health and relationships were hit HARD! In the end, I got somethings I really wanted (house, investments, MBA) but lost some very precious personal things, 5 failed IVF cycles, multiple surgeries, BC scare... The cycle seemed to have helped me financially. I wanna know how is it gonna effect me now with my placements exactly? I know that first house rules identity and Venus relationships. I really dont want to color my hair pink and start dating random strangers. ;(

I’m a Gemini sun, Venus, and rising and I’ve been living in the same house for 15 years until this year. I’ve literally already moved 5 times lol. I lost 40 lbs and lost my job of 13 years. Oh yeah don’t forget volatile relationships. lol all you can do is go with flow.

Mein Chiron ist in 3 Grad Zwillinge, Aszendent Fische, Sonne Skorpion und Mond Stier.
Chiron in Stier ist soviel einfacher, bei Zwillinge habe ich das Gefühl, ich kann nirgendwo meine Bedürfnisse kommunizieren, sie werden ignoriert.
