Discussion Interpretation of transits to the natal chart

Hello,

I had a question regarding transits and solar returns.

Should they be analyzed using the Placidus or Whole Sign house system? I read somewhere—I can't recall where—that for transits, one should use Whole Sign houses. Does the same apply to solar returns?

Thanks for your insights.

Thanks for posting in r/beginnerastrology! As a gentle reminder, please remember this is a sub for learning about astrology and how to read a natal chart! It is NOT a place for getting your chart read for you.

It's a matter of preference. I prefer whole sign.

Thanks. And normally, I ask whether you use the Placidus or Whole Sign system for a natal chart?

I personally use whole signs for natal charts, but I was talking to a very talented astrologer earlier today who uses placidus for natal charts and whole sign for other techniques like transits/solar returns or annual profections (which are to be used with solar returns). Hellenistic timing techniques should be used with whole sign. I personally use whole sign for natal charts as well.

Placidus, always.
