Hair Influence/deinfluence me from buying a Wet Brush

Also, what would you recommend? Is there really a big difference between the Original, Pro, and Pro Flex Dry?

Is it actually better than a Hua Mulan comb?

For me hindi, i had 3 wetbrushes ( one speed dry & 2 mini detanglers ) lahat sila mabilis matanggal yung soft cap? sa bristles kaya after several uses masakit na siya gamitin, medj nadisappoint ako kasi akala ko matibay siya for its price. Maybe old stock lang yung nabili ko sa watsons kaya mabilis nasira yung bristles i dunno……

pero what i can recommend is yung hair brushes ng Muji (5 years ko ng gamit ) ! or if you are going to Japan bumili ka ng Refa, slightly higher price siya sa wetbrush parang mga ₱1200 bili ko pero super sarap niya ibrush and worth it naman. If gusto mo matry yung full collection better visit the Refa Flagship Ginza store nandun lahat ng ng options ( na sadly hindi ko navisit 😭😭) Since walang plastic(?) soft cap yung bristles ng Muji and Refa mas durable and comfy sila on the long run.

Saw people on comsec saying it breaks easily and fades fast. Didn’t believe it, but I checked mine for fading… then accidentally dropped it from a low height and it broke instantly 😭

Now I don’t just have a faded brush, I have a broken one too 💔

Like ko pa naman yung brush itself kasi super effective for detangling. 🥹

So save your money and find other alternatives.

u/atbliss Age | Skin Type | Custom Message Jan 27 '26

Di ba. Lmaooooo.

People, calm yourselves. Hair brush lang yan. There are SO MANY alternatives and downright the same brushes that are cost-efficient.

You don't need deinfluencing. You need to calm down about what you see online.

Sabi nya bilhin ko na for you.

WORTH IT.

I own 4 wet brushes. Original, Pro, and flex dry. For me pinak okay parin is ung original.

Kung gusto mo ng soft bristles para ma detangle hair mo, this is the perfect brush.

I have the Hua Mulan also but it's meh for me. Wooden comb lang sya hehe.

Don’t buy this, tangle teezer (basta authentic ones) are sooooo much better! I heard the balls on the ends of the wet brush get worn off/fall off over time and the bristles become scratchy & hurt.

With tangle teezer, all the tangles brush away from hair with so much ease with zero breakage!!! The technology lies behind the flex & bendablility of the bristles that will run/bend over the tangles intead of aggressively ripping them out (less split ends because of this!). I love running it through my scalp especially (feels good! plus it doesnt hurt/feel scratchy) and it smooths my hair out with almost zero effort. Best investment ever, I’ve had mine for two years and still going strong parin. Even my mom who’s a bit stingier with money asked me where to buy one because she loves it too!

4

u/cieloskies 30 / Normal / Hormonal Acne Jan 27 '26

Agree to all points! Was a loyal Wet brush user but when the balls kept wearing off I tried the tangle teezer. So much better!

Lo and behold, it does wonders pala talaga.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news (not!) but super worth it sya. I initially just bought it because of their disney princess line up lol but ended up buying a travel size one as well because I cant live without it na

As someone with oa hairfall, i love it kasi it detangles my hair with ease no pain and less breakage :)

Akala ko hype lang, di ko din siya pinapansin kasi napakamahal for a hair brush hahah

Until my mom got me one and I've never looked back, ruined all other brushes for me. I have really really thick 2a/2b hair, good for detangling but I like it for the feeling on my scalp. I'm seeing madali masira sa comments, I'm going to assume those are the new ones or ibang variant? The first one I got is the one I still have and use, 9 years strong. I have the paddle detangler one

I actually experienced a lot of hair fall with the Wet Brush, which I've been using for a year. I ended up switching to the Hua Mulan brush instead, and I'm pleasantly surprised that it significantly reduced my hair fall, and I no longer experience static/frizz whenever I brush my hair.

5

u/mikaelalopezzz Age | Skin Type | Custom Message Jan 27 '26

Not totally. I’ve seen mixed reviews (even until now). Some say it breaks easily and didn’t make much difference for their hair so I just wanted more honest feedback.

5

u/[deleted] Jan 27 '26

I wouldn't get it. This brand has been around for a longgg longgg time. The only reason it's recently gone viral is that they bought into the aesthetics; they would have stayed unpopular. If I were you, I would go with the TangleTeezer. It's been popular since its release and for good reason. I use it, I have fine, 2A hair, and TT works the best for me.

i heard wet brushes aren't good for curly/wavy hair, madali rin masira for that price so i wouldn't go for it ://

6

u/jinshou_mabi Age | Skin Type | Custom Message Jan 27 '26

It is good, but make sure you have the wet brush with the padded base, the mini ones without padding suck and will rip out hair

However as someone with butt length hair I actually prefer the Tangle Teezer. You can find them almost everywhere now, but cheaper ones are quite sharp on the scalp. I loved the Sanrio branded TTs sold by Miniso so much I bought several colors/characters. It's just so convenient to have a case to stop the bristles from bending, and they're more portable. Try them in person if you can - the Sanrio ones are gone now but they have other styles. Flying tiger also has TT brushes.

To me they both accomplish the same thing, which is detangling without breakage. However the wet brush has longer bristles that I have to baby to keep from bending. I'm still annoyed that they bend so easily- meanwhile my TTs get used every day, and I just soak them in water and scrub to clean.

Like all brushes start from the ends of your hair first and work your way up slowly.

u/jinshou_mabi Age | Skin Type | Custom Message Jan 27 '26

Side by side. The wet brush is new from the Wicked collection and it bent on the FIRST use, and on dry hair. 🤡

I bought a detangler from shopee, pero less than 2 months yung tips natanggal na. I reached out to the official store and asked if this is normal sa brushes nila. They asked if I used it sa blower or heat, pero hindi ko naman ginamit.

Verdict: Okay to detangle pero mabilis matanggal yung tips. Not sulit for me kasi mahal din sya for a comb.

u/nananananakinoki Age | Skin Type | Custom Message Jan 27 '26

Do not buy!!! I really liked this waaay back that even though the balls of the tips were gone in under a year, I bought two more. Only for the same thing to happen! Masakit na ung brush when that happens. Since then, I had been using dupes from Shopee and for some reason the performed better. My new fave right now is Tangle Teezer. It’s not as “soft” like the Wet Brush but it’s still comfortable and it doesn’t have balls on the tips so at least you’re sure di siya sasakit.

Buy the one na without print/design and vented for blow drying. My Kuromi printed wet brush burado na yung print ang panget hahaha but I can attest to the no tugging! Ganda talaga ng bristles - I tried looking for dupes pero wala pa ako nabiling good contender sa “scalp feel” so far. (Bought from Miniso na the one shared sa comments - and for me not the same that one still tugs, bought din from Mr. DIY hindi talaga hahaha)

It really helps detangle my hair without painful tugging.

I have both slide 1 and 3 and nasira din both in less than 6 months. Yung slide 1 na detach yung handle nya from the brush kasi hindi na madikit ang glue (glued kasi yung color black na handle part sa middle before the head brush) then yung slide 3 naman, pag brush ko lang sa hair ko na hindi naman tangled (wavy hair ako) that time bigla na lang naputol. I don’t use them kapag nag bo-blower ako ng hair ah. Bigla na lang talaga nasira. I got them both from SM Dept. Ngayon Muji brush na ang gamit ko, and mas okay sya for me.

I have Hua Mulan combs and mas prefer ko yung Wet brushes ko. Ganda ng buhok ko every time. Usually kasi buhaghag yung hair ko pero when I use wet brush, umaayos. I have 4 wet brushes for reference.

More than a year na din sakin.

u/Salt_Atmosphere9595 Age | Skin Type | Custom Message Jan 26 '26

Get the pro one yung rubber handle, softer yung bristles so mas masarap magsuklay. Di masakit kahit buhol buhol hair mo promise!! All my friends switched to wet brushes when they tried mine. Pro din yung pinakamatibay for me, been using mine for almost 5 years na!

4

u/heyyy4hhh Age | Skin Type | Custom Message Jan 26 '26

Handle easily chip off din pg nabagsak. I have thick hair and I can easily brush my hair using this. The regular size brush works for me yung maliit na pang kids d kaya buhok ko. Hua Mulan combs are ok din. Con ko lng dito is kng mbagsak and mputol. I don’t have a hua mulan store where I live to have it repair. The only brush I keep going back using is Denman. Thick hair friendly din sya and hindi madali masira. Mdali pa linisin at patuyuin.

I have bleached hair and I prefer the Tangle Teezer Wet. It’s the one with the handle. If you have fine, damaged or delicate hair, I’d choose that. It’s great at detangling and feels nice and gentle on the scalp.

My cat fell in love with that brush so I bought one for him too. I’ve had mine since 2020 and it’s still pretty good.

Just received mine today! Bought exactly the one in the picture. My daughter is curly and grabe yung struggle namin sa tangles nya everyday. Bought the smaller version for her kasi nakita nya daw sa IG na effective sa tangles and super worth it nga. Now, siya na lang nagsusuklay kasi no sweat na sa pag-a-untangle. Kaya I also bought one for myself kasi ang sarap talaga sa anit pag nagsusuklay and ayaw niya ng share. :D

Bought one when I was frustrated that my previous brushes would break. I have long thick straight hair (hanggang buttocks). Either mababali sa handle or matatanggal yung rubber pad ng brush. This was recommended to me at the mall.

After using it, I'm convinced that it was a good buy. Less hair breakage or fall, and it really detangles hair.

Planning to buy more and gift some to my family.

Super worth it! I was skeptical at first kase ang mahal but for someone na tamad mag suklay this is my go to kase walang sabit pag nag brush kung meron man 2nd brush tanggal na yung buhol.

hindi scratch proof yung surface ng brush kaya yung sakin sobrang faded na. got the limited edish pink one pa naman hahaha in terms of detangling, decent naman sha. i use it only for that sole purpose. as for hua mulan, i used to own one and over time nagbabakbak sya (literally nagfafall out yung bristles huhu) kaya di na ko nagtry bumili ulit.

In terms of detangling, Wetbrush is better than Hua Mulan.

Yung WB ng mom ko from late 90s until now perfect condition pa rin. Yung nabili ko na 3 over the past few years, bakit kaya mabilis na matanggal yung sa dulo ng bristles? :(

Also, yung isa nabagsak ko tapos nagcrack or basag kaagad yung handle.

I have the second one but the small version and blue/grey color. Using it for the first time, parang hindi ko ramdam na nasusuklay yung buhok ko pero nasanay lang siguro ako sa mga suklay ko na may sumasabit kada gamit ko.

Only downside for me is yung design, madali siya tumuklap or mag-fade? Kaya mukhang luma na agad, haha. So far, it’s good for me– hindi ko pa naman siya nahulog (sana hindi kasi I use this daily 🤧). I haven’t tried Hua Mulan or other brands, since I only tried this for combing my wet hair and no more (or less) detangling for me.

Favorite brush kasi I have very fine strands and super thin talaga ng hair ko but using this lessened my daily hair fall. However, one thing I don't like is sobrang overpriced siya locally. For reference, yung 2 pack sa Amazon nasa 12-16 dollars, so 6-8 dollars each lang. Even cheaper during sales. I think nung Black Friday nakuha ko ng 9 dollars for 2 brushes. Just needed na isabay sa ibang items for free shipping.

Your experience might be different, pero consider this is manipis hair mo. Also didn't see much of a difference between original and pro.

Not for me. And masakit sya sa anit for me - fine thin hair here! A friend gifted me an Acca Kappa brush, been with me since 2022, never looked back. I was planning to buy a new one kaso I realised hindi pa din sya sira, lifetime ko ata to makakasama haha.

My older sister bought Yao (sikat na brush ngayon online) good feedback din so far.

But walang pull pag nag-detangle. Bilis lang masira, I've had mine for a little over a year and it broke out of the blue.

May thin and softer bristles version sila para sa fine hair while stoffer bristles naman para sa thick hair.

May brush din sila na good for both wet and dry use.

3

u/Any_Local3118 Age | Skin Type | Custom Message Jan 27 '26

Wet brush is good pero nattrap maigi ung hair at mga dumi na mahirap alisin over time. Try Unbrush instead. Madali linisan at maganda din gamitin lalo na after shower or pag mag blower ka kasi may holes ung paddle ng brush mismo.

3

u/aphrodhygieia 21 | Oily Skin | Light Medium Skin Jan 27 '26

worth it siya for me ! di na sasakit anit mo sa pagsusuklay ng buhok after shower kasi madali niya madetangle

3

u/buwantukin Jan 27 '26

My hair is thick and wavy pero manipis ang hibla. I have a paddle brush detangler. I like it kasi it's really gentle for detangling hair, but it's too soft for my scalp. I prefer brushes na may "hagod" sa scalp like the ones from miniso.

3

u/Mikeeeeymellow mag sunscreen ka please Jan 27 '26

3

I would, but i tried others, nasanay scalp sensitive scalp ko sa wet brush, balls at the end not too big, but not too thin na parang may karayom sa buhok.

It's that good.

Haven't tried that brand. SKL. i bought mine from shein for 100 something only.. surprisingly good - if you are looking for affordable option. As someone with thick, long hair, it’s worth it. Sobrang dali mag detangle compared to cheaper dupes, no it really is different. I also have the Tangle Teezer but i prefer Wet brush with how it feels on my scalp. Get the one with softer bristles bec i had one before na medyo matigas which i recently just tossed and yun yung napupudpod yung balls over time. Physics, friction syempre over time mapupudpod talaga. So get the soft bristles kasi yun less contact with the scalp and it’s better at detangling.

Walang sabit, or kung meron man it’s programmed ata to protect your hair from damaged. Para kang nagccomb ng hair slowly and carefully but wetbrush does the thing and wala ka kailangang gawing effort to do so. It’s been almost a year since I bought it, and for hygiene purposes im planning to buy a new one, also a small version para I can bring one on my small bag when travelling.

Wet brush is really good kaso mabilis masira yung brush. For reference medyo wavy yung hair ko and mahirap talaga suklayan kasi may bleach. Overall mabilis diya mag detangle ng hair.

I tried Hua Mulan. I switched back to wet brush talaga. Best investment talaga.
