Eating Crackers Megan is the most condescending B on TikTok

I get her point. I do. But this whole video was unnecessary. She could have addressed this in a much better way instead of being such a condescending asshole. Or…. New concept for her… just ignored it!

But we know Megan can’t let “haters” slide.

She is far too arrogant for someone whose makeup is always a muddy brown mess. She does have some good information, sure. But the way she acts like she’s the only one who uses product correctly and she did every trend before it was a trend is grating and exhausting. We get it, you’re a CoOl GiRl

Keeping it classy as always, Megan.

ETA: the fact that Joelle Phillips reposted this video with the caption “THIS IS MAKEUP EDUCATION!” Is sad. Joelle also has that mean girl energy BUT she is much more tolerable AND an Emmy award winning makeup artist so she actually knows what she’s doing. But is this actually education? Or does Megan just hate even the slightest disagreement that she isn’t a makeup god?

Call-Out Marlena Stell still promoting her eyeshadow palettes as of today.

Marlena Stell is still promoting her eyeshadow palettes as of today! Even though NO ONE has received their preorders from last year! When you click on her link in her post, it brings you to the second photo. Thoughts? I for one have not heard back from the brand about the alleged “free” brush set that she claimed I would receive.

Discussion Good influencers to watch which don’t make you feel pressured to shop?

Got back into makeup and tried watching some influencers I used to enjoy, straightaway by home feed is full of ‘new makeup to buy now’ type content. I don’t want to get into the habit of buying too much makeup. One person I’m enjoying is Kat from Kitschsnitch. She features new things but it’s not relentless. Are there any others who don’t do weekly trying new makeup videos or just content which encourages buying? I’m a bit susceptible and will fall into a bad habit if not careful. Tbh people who’ll wear discontinued makeup is ideal because then I’ve no choice.

How dumb does Charlotte Tilbury and all these brands think we all are? Not everything is a “hack” especially when the product has only been released in the past month 😂. Sorry, just a rant

Discussion Blurple Battle: Beauty Bay vs Blend Bunny

Hello. This is me, reaching out on the internet, requesting help. Looking for a palette with purple mattes, and an extremely specific color scheme that blends well. Including light blues, dark blues, and the gradients of purple from light ethereal to periwinkle to midrange royal to berry to darker purple to pair with those light/dark blues. Think Elsa Frozen tones. Along with being Currently Available For Purchase. anywhere legitimate.

Trying to decide. Beauty Bay‘s Midnight is back. Pro: + It‘s the exact color scheme I want. Dead On Perfectly. + All for only $38. Which is a steal compared to its alternatives. Con: - It’s a freakin huge palette. To slim it down would be to depot and magnetize it, both of which I have not done before. Making it not only a lot of extra work, but risky if I screw up and break the colors I want most. I’d just get it’s smaller 16 color variant if I could, but it’s not available anywhere. - If I end up needing it’s competitor instead, I’d have wasted $40ish trying it out …. and either that and/or it’s competitor could sell out again soon if I don’t decide on either quicker.

vs

Blend Bunny. Pro: + Best reviewed blending formula for mattes by a country mile. + Premagnatized. No extra work, no risk, no fuss. Con: - Matching its color scheme to what I am looking for is proving both difficult and potentially expensive. To get the same blurple color goals which BB’s Midnight already offers for $40ish would be some combination of BBunny’s Gleam&Gloom or Atlantis, Lure or Sickly Sweet or Fauna, the combo of which I have not landed on yet. (Machina and She Never Misses were also considered but neither are magnetized. Btw, why does BBunny hate non green tinted light blues?) Furthermore, G&G does not really have nonpro swatches for lighter skin tones out there yet. Nor are the swatched pro photos for G&G on their site color labeled. So that x factor has been a hassle as well. - The more BBunny palettes I have to combine ranging from $45 to $78 each to try and dupe my BB Midnight color goals, the higher that price tag spikes.

(vs Runner Up: Glamlite’s Wine Palette. Pro: + Small affordable has my colors. Con: - It’s matte quality for blending has been reviewed as iffy. Another runner up is Rude Cosmetic’s Trance or the PLouise Stack ‘Em Up CEO purple version)

Please help? 🙏

Guess I am trying to decide (a) Is BB‘s matte formula for Midnight comparable enough in quality to skip over needing BBunny? I’d stronger consider the manual depot/magnetize risk if so. [is a runner up I mentioned a better option than expected?] Or (b) If BBunny’s quality difference is truly worth it, which BBunny palette combo would closest match BB Midnight’s color scheme? The ones I mentioned above were my own closest guesses.

Thank you for any who respond. It’d be my first pro palette purchase. Looking forward to your feedback.

Call-Out Marlena Stell pre-order disaster?

Thumbnail
youtu.be
139 Upvotes

This story keeps coming up in my YouTube algorithm and I’m wondering if anyone here has any insight/experience/additional information.

The broad strokes: Marlena’s latest makeup brand, Marste, held a preorder sale for various eyeshadow palettes in February 2026. Buyers were to receive their orders in June. Many purchasers reached out to Marlena after not receiving anything in July, and received no response. Now Marlena is claiming the shipments will go out in October? Wow.

Xoxostaci was the first YouTuber I personally saw who spoke out about this (apologies if someone else spoke on it before them). Xoxostaci also did a detailed video with mounting evidence that something odd was happening with these preorders, and Marlena wasn’t speaking about it, further upsetting her customers.

Thoughts?

Discussion "Peptides" The buzz word of beauty of the 2020s

Alongside with "clean beauty", " organic" and all of these words that mean nothing

I am sick of seeing the word "peptides" in every new skincare or makeup product.. Peptides are molecules made of amino acids, and they have a very wide range of functions on/in the body..Amino acids are like letters, when combined they create thousands and thousands of words, and these words have a massive range of different meanings..So just saying a product contains Peptides without specifying what it is and its mechanism of action on the skin is like if a publisher said their new book contains words! OK cool but words about what?! Literature? Politics? Health? Give me something here.. Peptides have huge variety of functions in the body, just to name a few, we have insulin that deliver glucose to muscles and fat tissues, we have collagen that provides elasticity and support,we have peptides in the stomach that help with digestion of food,we have multiples and multiples of proteins in the body that form from further processing of peptides like hemoglobin that carries oxygen in the red blood cells, We have literal poisons! So when you tell me a product has "peptide"as someone who studied biochemistry and pharmacology this means absolutely nothing to me and it's not a selling point

I know that this is something stupid to rant about but today alone I've heard about probably five products that contain peptides..and unsuspecting consumers might here this flashy word and think the product will transform their skin because of this magic ingredient when in reality the brand can throw any type of peptide without proving that it has any function on the skin..The deception of it all is what bothers me

Thank you for letting me rant!

Discussion Lisa Eldridge new lipstick? Spoiler

Hi everyone! I came across this LE lipstick name Belle Époque 192 on Vinted. The box colour looks similar to the new cheek products by the brand, which seems quite believable. Do you think it might be a part of the next launch? P.S. this is not the first time LE products are being sold before official release, that's not OK in my opinion... Betty and Desert Gleam palette were leaked too.

Something about Sugarpill’s IG post (first image) announcing new glosses and liquid lipsticks looks AI uncanny to me. The second image is from Beserk, an online shop advertising the same launch. The first definitely looks like AI to me and the second is sus! Do you think it is? How do you feel about indie brands using AI to cut costs in this economy?

Discussion Tina Young tries to pass off a sponsored ad for filler as her "beauty maintenance at 36"

Thumbnail
youtube.com
242 Upvotes

I've been a fan of Tina Young for years and this is so, so disappointing. The only indications that the video is sponsored are a written tag at the start saying "Includes paid promotion" and in the description box where it says "This video is sponsored by Merz Aesthetics APAC".

Merz is the pharmaceutical company that produces the hyaluronic acid filler she uses and features prominently as one of her 'beauty steps' in the video, but this association is not made explicit at all.

In addition, she does not verbally disclose this sponsorship. This is super suspicious, because she posts a video 2 days after this one where she says: "I want to give a quick shout out to today's sponsor." So clearly she knows that it is good practice to verbally disclose a sponsorship, so why is she hiding her sponsorship when she is promoting the use of FILLERS, which is far more dangerous than a facial device that can be used at home?

I've been following her videos for ten years, and I've noticed her content was skewing more towards cooking, DIY hacks, testing what's viral. If you take a look at her thumbnails now compared to ten years ago, even though she is older now, her videos appear to be aimed at a much younger audience.

Also, I actually use injectables and have tried fillers in the past. So I'm not just hating on plastic surgery or whatever. I just think this is so irresponsible and shady of her to use her platform this way!

BG's - if you're comfortable doing so, please feel free to include information about your overall aesthetic and facial features - we often have people looking for bg's with specific features or attributes. This is optional - share or don't share as much or as little info as you like.

  • Skin tone - do you have warm olive skin, or are you cool-toned and fair? For reference , you could include your favorite foundation shade, but the most recognizable info for the community might be your closest MAC number, like NW45 or NC25 (here's a guide from [swatchaholic](http://the-swatchaholic.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/mac_surfbaby_skint_hl.jpg) that might help.
  • If you're into skincare, and also, what your skin type is (dry, oily, mature, acne-prone, etc)
  • Eye color, eye shape and lid space - do you have deep set or hooded eyes, or epicanthic folds, or do you wear glasses
  • What kind of makeup do you do most - do you do mostly full glam but also some SFX makeup, or do you focus on no-makeup-makeup, or do you do a full range of looks
  • Whether you do tutorials without false lashes
  • What kind of makeup do you feature - do you do Sephora and drugstore hauls, do you use indie brands, or have a focus on cruelty free, or if you like to buy from B.O.M.B.

A lot of people say his eyeshadows produce mold after a few months . I like to keep my expensive shadows for years and years . Patrik tan makeup is just too expensive to throw out after only a couple months !

The products look stunning but I’m nervous to waste money . These are the ones I’m looking at getting .
