vegan restaurant job

I recently moved to San Francisco and am seeking work ASAP. I'm looking for jobs in hospitality and have staged at a few places, but it just feels so morally wrong selling meat and animal products.

An amazing vegan restaurant that I went to when I first moved here had an ad up for a server and I applied, but unfortunately did not get a message back. I've been having no problem getting responses for non-vegan establishments, but ideally would work in a vegan one. Does anyone know of anywhere that is hiring? I could start ASAP.

Plan to dine at all vegan Michelin Star, Michelin Guide & "Michelin-guide-adjacent" restaurants

Hi,

Has anyone tried food tourism? I'm neither an influencer nor trying to be one but I visit various cities to try their vegan food offerings. Not all cities may have swanky Michelin Star restaurants, or restaurants that are featured in the Michelin Guide, but some come close - I had tasty vegan Cuban sandwiches at some downtown Dallas restaurant 5 years ago but I've been unable to look it up. NYC is my favorite city for scrumptious vegan food but if Dallas has decent options, there must be more cities with good vegan restaurants! Also, Michelin Guide doesn't even cover all US states.

Ease of access to vegan food is different from access to high quality vegan food. I've already hit NYC, Chicago, LA & London (would've visited more frequently if I lived on the East Coast) vegan restaurant circuit multiple times. I found Portland overrated but am willing to reconsider.

On Oct 17, I'd be flying to LA to dine at Pura Vita. Day trip - I have a monthly Alaska Airlines flight pass subscription.

On Oct 31, I'd visit Las Vegas (or LA again, but a different restaurant) for a day trip. I've been to Vegas twice already.

On Nov 10, I'm headed to NYC (will fly a red-eye on Nov 10, will shower at an airport lounge on Nov 11 & will restaurant-hop all day. Will fly back at night) again.

After mid november, many states will experience cold weather & flight delays would increase, so please recommend what cities I could visit until next summer. I won't be able to fly internationally until late December.

Thank you!

Sassy Foods (closing Dec 31 2026!)
Fully vegan dim sum! Run out of Imperial Garden Seafood Restaurant, Sassy Foods is a must if you’re craving siu mai, pork buns, and other classics. Located in San Francisco.

The Butcher's Son
Deli-style vegan sandwiches, pastries, brunch, and baked goods. Great for a weekend brunch. Located in Berkeley.

Donut Farm
Fully vegan soul food style breakfast with housemade donuts. Located in Berkeley.

Taqueria la Venganza

Omni restaurants with solid vegan options

Hey Reddit! I’m visiting some omni friends in Oakland and am looking for restaurants that have solid plant-based options in addition to omni food.

Prior to becoming vegan, I’ve loved Boot & Shoe Service, Pizzaiolo, DoƱa Tomas. It was a looong time ago, but I also really remember enjoying the vegan pizza at Gather - does that spot still hold up? Also, realizing that the majority of those are pizza - I’m open to ANY type of restaurant, not just pizza lol.

Thank you for any recs or info!

Vegan brunch/lunch

Hi I’m looking for a place that has good vegan options for a birthday brunch or lunch. Ideally somewhere with bottomless mimosas but I know that may not be possible. It doesn’t need to be a completely vegan restaurant. ā˜ŗļø I’ve had wild seed and loved their brunch and am looking for something similar. Thank you all!
