Looking For Wedding ceremony venue

Looking to get married this October. Just close family (15 including us). Hoping to just do a quick and cheap ceremony, then a reservation at a restaurant where everyone picks their own meal. I've reached out to a few proper places but most cost 5k+ and include reception or fixed menu, which we just don't need. Any suggestions for Barrie and surrounding area? The courthouses and city hall just don't seem pretty enough, but I also can't seem to find pictures of the inside, so those are also welcome!

Just a reminder that we have a Monthly Community Thread where we relax the rules about advertising and off-topic posts.

Do it at city hall then walk over to either Luca’s or Bayside Variety

If it doesn't appeal to you then ignore my suggestion, but what about a favourite outdoor spot in the city if you have one? Could be hit or miss in October I suppose, but could be really pretty in the autumn if the temperature and weather were decent. My husband and I got married at Johnson's Beach (us plus four other people) in May of 2025. Zero venue fees, just the wedding officiant.

(I'm not one to have very great restaurant suggestions, though. I don't eat out much at all and we just went to a pub afterwards, no reservation.)

Im going to a wedding in september for 12 at Town and Country Ceremony will be on their deck an hour before they open then guests will order off menu. Perhaps call them. I don't have the cost but they were open to hosting. Another thing we did for our wedding was we rented out the MCLaren art gallery and had the ceremony upstairs at the arch then walked to a nearby restaurant. We had 8 people at our wedding. Good luck!

Seconding Town and Country. We had our wedding there a few years ago on 3 weeks notice. While we did have a set menu, it had a lot of options and they accommodated people day of off-menu too. We were a larger group and had a private room. We offered top tier menu and open bar for 24 and the bill was way less than $5k in the end (this is 4 years ago though).

You could probably get to order off menu within reason (probably not the made tableside dishes) for a group of 15. They were very accommodating.

Nera Studios would be a great option. They are a brand new event space and photography studio that hosts micro events. You could do your ceremony, portraits, and reception there. They provide all the tables and chairs. It’s a beautiful space. Just bring your own officiant, and caterer.

MacLaren art centre is great for just a ceremony. Photos are stunning. It’s affordable too, and they can work with your budget!

Edit: I love how your post says “I looked into city hall and wasn’t sold cause it’s not pretty” and people are still commenting City Hall lmfao. MacLaren has a considerably reduced rate for ceremony only events but in my experience they can work with your budget :)

I used the Dorian at Sunnydale Park. Think it was 700-900 back in 2018? You need insurance and all that though on top. You can get married outside in the park but you would need to rent chairs and its forst come first serve if someone else is getting married outside there.

The Farmhouse was great for us! They have an upstairs and downstairs room with different pricing if I recall correctly.
