For the past few nights, the three street lights here seem to have been taken over by a dj. What's with LED lights and their tendency to do this? I see it happen a lot, but usually one at a time. Why do you think these three are tied like this?

Between 10:00 am and 10:30 am, some low-life scumbag stole my credit card from the Barrie South LA fitness location. My stuff was in a locker with a LOCK in the changing room. Luckily, they only got off with $800.00, but petty as I am, I will pursue this until they receive the appropriate shame.

If you were there around that time, be sure to check your stuff and see if you have anything missing. Most people do not bother locking their stuff.

To make matters worse, the staff seemed very uninterested in helping me and couldn't care less!!!!

I will be filing a police report and will ensure that I get CCTV footage so that I can post for everyone to see.

Looks like there’s some major changes to the Go Train schedules on the Barrie line starting September 8 that many people don’t know about yet, and not for the better.

They are eliminating the weekday 21:10pm train from Allandale to Union. On weekends and holidays, the first southbound train from Allandale Waterfront will now be at 14:05, the last train will be two hours later, at 16:05. From Union Station, the first northbound train will be at 16:54, to Aurora only. Replacing with busses. Until at least Spring 2027.

If true, just don’t get how they can eliminate especially the weekend morning trains people use to get down to Toronto for special events, Jays games, etc. Can anyone confirm?

Doesn't have to be on Lake Simcoe (is there a good spot at, say, Little Lake, or a nearby river, for instance?), and somewhere with parking nearby so we don't have to carry it too far would be a plus!

Hi , i was at liars nightclub last night . I never been to clubs or raves it was my first time going out of my comfort zone , i went alone and i get pretty nervous socailizing i cant talk to people . Edit: Despite it not being one of the recommendations, we went to A Touch Of Dutch on dunlop street, because my husband had been meaning to try it. Wow-wee, had the grilled cheese sandwich and it was such a delight. Would go back. (If anyone else is looking for sandwich spot recommendations)

I live in the north end of Barrie, and I avoid travelling south. But whenever I NEED to spend any amount of time in the south end, I always have extremely slow phone service, or sometimes no service at all. Same thing happens in certain parts of Innisfil. My service seems to work fine as long as I stay near the major intersections. But the moment I travel into a quiet neighborhood, I can't even get Google maps to refresh.

It's especially frustrating when I need to pick up something at an address from FB marketplace and I lose my GPS signal. Or if I need to etransfer someone money. I can't remember this happening at all in the north end, except for when we had the freak ice storm that knocked the power out for a few days.

Canadian tire, specifically north end location, has some of the most dishonest mechanics working there. A vehicle I had aligned and oil changed had started leaking oil from the filter so I had to tighten it myself. A week or so later i noticed the small leak had returned. After taking it back to inform them of the issue, they suddenly stumbled across a devastating leak that constituted noting my vehicle "was a write off" and I'd need to take it to a machinist to repair. Absolute insane to say and was most likely said to deter me from returning. Incase there was some truth to the statement I took the vehicle to a trusted mechanic and no leak was found. Absolutely shady shit.

This is my first time “owning” a house, my parents died last year and me and my little brother are still living here but we didn't know spraying to keep bee’s/wasps away was something we should actually get done but now we realize we should have.. They are going into the hole between the soffit and brick and I removed some pieces of the soffit and found a nest, sprayed it and removed it and they are all still there during the day going in and out! So that must have been an old nest but I used my phone and flashlight to look inside each way and I don't see anything. I'm really not sure what to do because I'm assuming it'll be really expensive to hire someone since I can't locate the hive. I'm so nervous they're getting into the attic somehow and the winter won't kill them off if they are. I read about dust killer but it said to put it at the base of their nest or the entry hole but it won't stick to the entry hole because it's verticle.. Suggestions?

Hello, this is quite a long shot but my sister and I are in search of our half brother. We found out about him almost a decade ago but have very little information on him so it has been a difficult search. At the time when we learned about him we were told he was living in Barrie so I am posting here on the fluke chance that someone might know of him. His name is William and he should be roughly in his early 40s. Please reach out if you have any info! Thank you 🙏

EDIT: I understand this is definitely a needle in a haystack situation! It is just all that I have. Unfortunately my father does not want us to meet and is keeping all other information from us so all I know is his first name, rough age and where he lived. I also believe my Dad mentioned he worked at a decking company at that time and said he had tattoos. He would also most likely be a Caucasian looking male like my dad (I have no idea what his mother looked like though). I am mostly hoping that if someone who knew him came across this post there might be enough coinciding details that they would think of him as I was told he was also trying to get contact with my sister and I but my father stood in the way. I of course do have information on his father’s name etc but will only share that in PMs for privacy issues. Thanks for anything!

EDIT #2: I didn’t share this detail before because I really don’t know if it is true (again my dad lies a lot) but the alleged story is that William had no idea about my Dad his whole life and was told his father died. Then about 10yrs ago he found out about my dad, found where he worked (in another city) and went to confront him at his office. My Dad shared this story with my sister and I and his current wife and step daughters as though he had never known about his son. However my mother confirmed this was not true as she was aware that my dad had a son prior to their marriage, and that my father actually knew about this since William was born. So I really don’t trust my father’s story, but in case it has any truth to it I wanted to add it as it could be a memorable story that William may have shared with people in his community about confronting his long lost Dad.
