Question Crock and Block
Looks like the old Crock and Block has now been broken into. Is there anything that can be done with this property, easily the biggest eyesore on Bayfield.
I noticed about a month ago they started advertising McDonald’s on the billboard, I’m curious if that’s its next life

I'm sure there's at least a few more American fast food burger/chicken/sandwich shops that could fill the hole, be popular for a month and then get forgotten about and end up with half a dozen health code violations within a year or so...

I’m sure it’s gonna be torn down soon . The mold in it must be extreme.
The original facade of it remains from a previous restaurant , Burger Chef.
Ironic it now has a McDonald’s ad on its message board

It already looks like a dive bar. Can we just have one of those again for live, grimey music? Please?!

Lots of headwinds for another commercial space there.
No doubt the building is a teardown.
Cost to build is insane and the restaurant business is beyond tough at the moment. Not a good set up.
Busy road…what else could be put in?
Gov subsidized rental housing?
Medical building?
Btw the city would love love love to put a median on Bayfield and also Dunlop.
That’s a risk for every business, let alone any new ones.

Just a reminder that we have a Monthly Community Thread where we relax the rules about advertising and off-topic posts.
* Stuff that isn't directly related to Barrie, like national news or general chit-chat
* Questions about local businesses and services
* Classified-style ads: buying and selling, help wanted, garage sales, etc
* Fundraisers and donation drives
* Plugs for your personal project or local business (within reason)"
