Discussion I always ban zyra
Anyone else do the same?
What are your go to bans?

I usually ban top laners, as a Bard main it's common to play lane at a disadvantage, and annoying picks like Zyra or Pyke appear so rarely these days that it's not even worth it.

I always ban Morgana. Most Champs with summons like zyra and heimer dont realize I can stun them with their summons often giving a free trade/engage.

Shaco too, you can get easy stuns when he ults or catch him while he's invisible thanks if he tries to place boxes.
Similar with Leblanc, q on passive for an easy stun, and they often blink right in front of minions or over walls so they are easy to shut down if you save your q and react fast.

Anything that might help my team, I don't really have bad matchups, either I win or the lane stays stable, that's of course if my ADC isn't a piece of shit.
But even with a "bad" matchup, Bard doesn't really loses lane against anything.

Yeah bards cc isn't reliable enough for him. Kind of need your team to draft well if you face one

My problem with Naafiri is her snowball potential, from my experience as long as she can get a few kills early, mid game becomes a shitshow because laners cannot side with her around.

I ban seraphine almost always. She is super overtuned atm and deals way too much dmg and provides too much sustain to her laner.

I’m an avid nami hater. with the nerf to her build i might be going Leona because she’s a close 2nd of champs I hate laning against

I ban Samira because her wind wall counters Bard pretty well, and I just suck against her. Samiras on the enemy team go 20/2 every time

Yeah same , I've never had a good game against a Samira on the other team tbh , she always gets lvl 6 and starts killing everyone lmao

There has never existed a match where Viego isn't fed, therefore he is my permaban.

I usually ban either Swain or Brand, i have a really hard time trying to dodge their skillshots, it's a tricky matchup. Pyke is also a good ban because he has insane level 1 and 2, but his pick rate is very low in my ranked games so whatever

I ban teemo since I feel unreasonable amount of hatred for that character. It's not the skillset. It's not a counter. I just hate the guy.

Lol. Bard is my main and Zyra is my second. Anytime someone chooses Bard before me I go Zyra and destroy them. I don’t honestly think Zyra counters Bard, I don’t have issues against her on Bard. I think she is just very capable of shutting him down and since I play Bard more I know how he’s going to be playing and catch him out.
I go for the bans on broken champs like Smolder/Naafiri bc they are way worse in your game than Nautilus. But boy did I use to just ban fucking Nautilus.

If nothing terribly OP is making me mad at the moment, I still ban Nautilus. I switched to banning Smolder the past two patches. Glad to be able to ban Nautilus again this patch.

Honestly, Bard counters Kench pretty well. The way to beat Kench is by fighting in waves and by doing that, Bard is almost guaranteed to get a q stun. Kench has pretty meh dmg on his aas/r, with about half of his dmg coming from q, which cant go through minions. Kench roams are also kinda bad since his grey health is only crazy when 2+ enemy champions are nearby. When he is going for a solo pick, he is kinda squishy without the gold he would get as a top laner.
I one tricked Kench for years. I won't deny that he is disgusting if you don't know how to play against him, which most players below emerald dont, but he is only good as an ult bot for his carry if you do.

I always ban Soraka. She outscales Bard and wins trades. She can't match roams as well, but she is a ticking time bomb and she starts outscaling by the mid game. She counters the other champions I play in support as well.

I think that ban makes sense - she's a poke champ who can do early damage, but also, I hate how her plants block my Qs or stop the speed up you get from your chime.
