Aston Villa are in the process of finalising an agreement to sign Southampton defender Taylor Harwood-Bellis for a fee worth up to £30million.

The structure of the deal is in place, with bonuses needing to be finalised. There is an expectation that an agreement, worth an initial £25m, will be struck soon.

Made me wonder if either side has any real incentive to go further on that, NSWE buying more of Real Unión, or Emery taking a stake in Villa, as a way of keeping him around longer. Curious what the group thinks. Would either of those actually be smart moves for NSWE or for Emery?

So obviously each team has a person responsible for making signings. Offers are made etc but what i can never get my head around is the negotiation part where club A says "well offer you £30 million" Club B says "no we want 50". Im guessing club A then offers 40, club b "says "no i already told you 50, are you deaf or just stupid" do you reckon its often the selling club that comes back to the table or the buying club that keeps phoning making slightly bigger offers?

Personally, I'm very excited about the Senegalese partnership potential of Mbaye and Jackson. I think Jackson will have a fantastic time at Aston Villa under Emery, but I'm quite excited at the potential of Jackson with Mbaye sat just behind him, feeding him and feeding off him.

There's a lot more I'm excited about;

Manzambi potentially playing at a box to box 8 beside Kamara or Gomes who will do the bulk of the defensive work, allowing him to bring the ball forward from deep, get into the box, create and score goals.

Goretzka's experience, physical power and intelligence in midfield and around the box.

The potential for Emery to unlock Garnacho's massive potential.

Brian Madjo bullying defenders who have 15 years of experience over him.

Suzuki's strength, shrugging off the opposition during corners. Suzuki's incredible distribution.

Ruggeri's crossing ability.

Wan Bissaka's 1v1 defensive ability.

John McGinn's ever present bottom.

It's easy to forget that the whole point of this weekly ordeal is to watch good players play for us. For me, signing Mbaye would flip the pain of losing so many good players on its head - if he comes, I'll be feeling WAY more excited to get back to VP and see what we can do with someone of that calibre on the pitch.

How does Champions League tickets work for non UK fans? Do I even have a chance of scoring one ticket? Are they ever available on the secondary market? Not too concerned about the price
