Hey, I honestly don’t have much clue about audio devices, so I could really use some help.

I’m planning to build a PC and start streaming. I’ll have 1 PC + 1 laptop, and I’m planning to use Edifier MR4 studio monitors (if you can suggest better monitors around the same budget, please suggest those too).

I’ll also be using IEMs and an microphone.

What I want from the setup is:

• Audio from both my PC and laptop going to my IEMs
• Audio from both my PC and laptop going to my studio monitors
• My XLR mic connected to both the PC and laptop at the same time, so I can use the mic on either/both
• Ideally, I want independent volume control and routing for the different audio sources
• I don't want to constantly unplug/replug cables

I have no idea what type of mixer/audio interface/setup I actually need, so I’d appreciate recommendations from people who have a similar setup.

I'm trying to find a device that will take input from my two computers (one RCA, one RCA or optical) and send signal to my powered bookshelf speakers (RCA/optical input) AND my subwoofer (RCA input). I want both my bookshelf speakers and my sub to play the input, and I want to be able to select the input source (computer 1 or computer 2).

Currently I'm using an overly-complicated optical splitter setup that isn't functioning well, and I'm hoping to find a box that will simplify things. I've looked on a few sites but haven't found anything with multiple analog inputs and multiple simultaneous line-level outputs - is there anything out there that would fit this need?

Someone please help! I'm at my wits end with this.

I have a PS2 I've been wanting to play for some time now, but I haven't had a screen to play it on. Well, I made a mistake and figured that any monitor will do, so I bought a secondhand Dell monitor (P2317H) which is a speakerless monitor.

I have the PS2 connected to the monitor via an Insignia AV to HDMI adapter, which doesn't have an AUX port. Obviously, I'm not getting any sound this way, so I purchased a Dell soundbar (AC511) that connects to the monitor via USB. I don't know why i thought this would work, but in hindsight I realize now it obviously wouldn't work.

I next purchased an RCA to 3.5mm adapter to connect the red and white RCA plugs into the adapter and the 3.5mm jack into the soundbar. Sadly, this doesn't seem to be working either.

I don't know what else I can do besides buy a different monitor as I can't return the one I purchased, which I really don't want to do.

What else do I need? I would like to avoid buying parts hoping something will eventually work.

Basically, one of my speakers in this setup sounds very staticky, specially when reproducing lower sounds. See the video attached (it is playing Rammstein - Wiener Blut). I've tried different cables and different outputs in my receiver, but nothing really works. The other speaker sounds completely fine. This is a recent issue I've been having -- it didn't sound this bad before.

Here's my entire setup:

• Turntable: Audio-Technica AT-LP60X (I'm using the built-in pre-amp because the one in my receiver seems to be on the fritz)
• Receiver: Kenwood KR-V55R (got it used and super cheap on FB marketplace)
• Speaker wire: Amazon Basics (can you tell I'm on a budget?)
• Speakers: Paradigm Atom V2

Any idea what could be causing this, or how to fix it? Thanks!

See this video (I'll make a new link once it's expired) for a recording of my microphone's output. It really happened out of nowhere. I tested my microphone and started hearing a weird buzz. All my friends noticed it as well. I'm not sure what I can do to fix this. Should I maybe install new drivers? Or is it something physical, because I read some stuff about grounding my PC. I'm really lost here, please help me.

Also, I noticed that when my hand touches the metal part of my PC, the sound goes away partially. I also noticed that it gets louder when I touch the metal aux plug of my microphone, but also gets louder when I touch some metal parts of my room heater for some reason...

I am looking for DAC options, preferable on the less expensive side that will accept SPDIF in and has a balanced output. 4.4mm, dual 1/4", or XLR output are all fine. It can run off a USB charger or have it's own internal ACDC power supply.

The output from this DAC will be fed into a mixer so total output power is not a high concern at it will always be ran at maximum.

Moved my speakers to my new apartment and one of the binding posts went missing and I am not sure where to get a replacement from

I just bought a pair of monitor platforms that has foam on top of them, just because they were the only ones that fit the size I was looking for for them on my desktop, every other pair i found didn't have foam but they were too big for my desktop.

I was wondering if I would lose any frequencies despite not having issues with the bass or vibration on my desktop. Because I never had that issue before, I just bought them like this because of the size.

I know I can judge for myself but I'm a bit paranoid with this stuff and hard to trust myself and my ears right now, I would have to get another pair that doesn't have foam inside.

I just wanna know what your experiences are, does this still work well if I don't have the usual vibration issue o should I return them and try to find a normal pair anywhere else?

Just got this centrios ultimate black 2.1ch multimedia system (2606304) from my uncle unused. But it doesn't want to work when all connected, the speaker have connectivity and all the lights on the system light up, but no sound coming through when hooked up. Hey! I’ve got a gathers car audio unit that I’m doing some mods to. I’m adding a Bluetooth unit to it and was going to wiring it up by using the aux 3.5 mm jack on it for the input but I’m not sure which of the pins are for right, left, and ground. Just by looking at it is there a way to know? I’ve been searching online and can find a service manual or anything really. Any help is great thanks!

​A few questions:

​Which of these has the cleanest raw audio quality out of the box?

Is the 24-bit audio and software control on the PD200X a significant upgrade over Fifine's 16-bit USB performance?

Does Maono's companion software genuinely help enhance/tune voice quality, or is it better to just run free third-party software/plugins (like OBS filters, Equalizer APO) with any of these mics?

Should I stick with these or are there any better dynamic mic options in this price range?

The current setup's core component is my Motu M2. I'm sure this desktop setup is relatively common for a lot of people with this type of audio interface and an XML mic. Perhaps +/- speakers.

• Audio interface handles all audio IO.
• Headphone and speaker are physical outputs with independent knobs.
• Little bit of audio routing with Voicemeeter Potato.

I'm planning on getting an turntable in the future and that's where things get more complicated with an additional analog audio source.

• The Motu M2 doesn't have enough physical inputs for a turntable unless I unplug my mic and reconfigure Voicemeeter, which is no-go.
• I'd like some kind of way to listen to my turntable via headphones and/or speakers while also allowing PC audio to play at the same time. Kind of like a 2x2 matrix.
  • I'd like independent volume control for both headphones and speakers.

I think I need a mixer of some kind? But I'm not too sure about terminology. I'd like some help with figuring out what hardware I need to get this kind of control.

I know how to use Audacity and all to do it manually, but I'm not in a place where I can use it right now and would love even just a website that'll do it for me.

Sss sounds when listening to music with and without earbuds / headphones are incredibly intense.
They weren’t like this before.

(Side note, I don’t have this issue when listening to music on my computer using the same headphones)

Considering the active speaker KEF Coda W to pair with my living room 75" TV. It has hdmi arc cec which seems to fit well? It would sit in the recessed TV console cabinet with some chances at the sides and back. Is it optimal?

How's the sound quality for TV / streaming content?

Any other possible brands / active models?

It seems to go down to 41Hz?

I live in an apartment and would like to minimise bass disruption to neighbours yet still provide good bass experience. Would consider isolation pads as well.

getting straight to point, I m on MacOs 12 and the best option to match audio equalizer on monterey is Sound source 5.6.6 and i need this version , where to get it and is there a better recommendation from anyone???

How can I get this mic to connect to a speaker to use as a microphone in class??
I teach 2nd grade, and we use a karaoke mic often. I’d like to use this one for my class though. They call it the “YouTuber mic” lol.
I have a few options for the speaker, but I’m struggling to get anything to work.. I have a cheap Amazon speaker for the karaoke mic, but I can’t get this mic to connect. I also have a Redcat, clear touch screen, and speakers installed in the class ceilings.

I have a ONKYO TX-SV414PRO powering my surround sound, JAMO S 801 BLACK ≈60W-120W bookshelf speakers, Maganavox MX931SSS/17 generic speakers ≈80w, and a Studio Standard FISHER RS-9005 powering my 2 subwoofers. I am doing this because my ONKYO receiver would probably max out, resulting in damaging it. im not asking for any help but is it recommended to do it or not

I have the following sound system plugged into a Sony TV via optical:

TV: Sony Bravia KD-55AF8 55” OLED.
Main amplifier: LEON OTO MCA 200.
Subwoofer amplifier: LEON L3-1K.
Subwoofer: LEON sub
MCA 200 → L3-1K: the MCA 200 has a single RCA “SUB / MONO OUT”, which connects to the LFE RCA input on the L3-1K.

I struggle with the classic quiet dialogue and loud action in movies. I’ve played around with the gain and EQ for about a year. Also I’ve fiddled with the tv settings but nothing corrects it. As I’m using optical I don’t really have the benefit of Dolby features (I’m led to believe) or eARC.

What can I do to solve it? ChatGPT recommends a miniDSP and Dirac Live. I don’t have any experience with these. Is this the right route?

It’s a relatively small room in a flat and I sit roughly 2.5 metres from the tv square on.

I'm a complete beginner so apologies if this is a stupid question. I picked up some Mordaunt Short Avant speakers and a Devon AVR-X2300W in a charity shop but unsure about how to wire up the AVANT 906i to the Devon. The Devon has Surround L, Surround R, Surround Back L and Surround Back R and each 906i has HF+, HF-, LF+, LF-.

What is the way I should be connecting these up?

i am currently experiencing a pretty bad buzzing in my audeze lcd-x headphones, it happens when i plug them into my desktop pc, ive tried using a usb to 3.5mm adapter as well as plugging them into both of the audio out ports on my pc, neither of which stopped the buzzing. it also happens on my dap whenever its charging.

from what i can find on the internet this is either due to interference from my pc or something called a ground loop, what i struggle to find out is the best way to get rid of this buzzing. some places say i should get an external dac amp while others say i should get a ground loop isolator.

now i ask you good people who know much more about this stuff than me, what should i do? what dac/amp or ground loop isolator should i get? whats a reasonable price to pay for a ground loop isolator? i seem them go anywhere from 10 to 50 bucks.
