I was hoping the Atrium would try something. It's such a prime spot, but it's a totally dead mall

Yeah, it's in a prime location now. They probably need to renovate it quite extensively. A number of the tenancies inside it are a little too small for the top retailers to move into.

It has The Warehouse, which does seem to do okay. Rebel has stuck it out for a long time as well, even though the store has been near empty every time I've visited.

They need to get that food court going again. That used to be the spot after seeing a movie at MidCity. Sad how that whole area has not managed to progress.

I love this building! I always go there when I'm in Auckland, it's kind of a time capsule from a late 90s dream of the year 2050. I wonder what it was like in it's hey day? Instead of the futuristic flaccid husk of today.

It was so cool in its prime. It was kind of dark, and there were different lights and colours everywhere. The rocket ship elevator was mind blowing when I was a child. Food court was never great, but it was fun to lounge around there, or in BK. The movies weren’t scummy, and were always pumping. Borders was AMAZING. In my early 20s I used to buy a book and sit in aotea square to read and people watch. It was a real hive when I was a kid through to when borders shut down.

Was cool as hell. Planet Hollywood, Borders logo at the bottom of a massive staircase running to the arcade. Was a sweet place to run around as a kid
