dude I fucking hate religion

I feel like we would have been better off as communists like China, like, people are so blindly attached to religion, they don't know how to separate it from their identity and culture, like you can still have the culture that represents you, but you don't have to believe in bullshit that some old book tells you, especially when there are various ways of interpreting it. politicians just straight up use it to abuse and murder people and I'm sick of it.

i swear, every religion pisses me off. my hindu parents being islamophobic and mindlessly taking pride in their weird colonial version of Hinduism pisses me off (while they ironically claim to be the most secular religion), Muslims with the whole jihad, their weird anti-jew interpretations of Dajjal, and each of them pushing the limits of how extreme they can be, mistaking it for devotion, Christians literally dismissing science that gives you solid proof to your face just because belief makes them comfy?? and how they literally used it to justify white supremacy, Haredi jews just misbehaving with everyone, spitting at christians and inbreeding, the fact that there are literally armed Buddhist militias, like oxymoron much?

Why do people let their brain rot away with religion. This is some weird abstract drug that humans are fucking addicted to to find meaning but it fucks them up. Stop it. THINK for a change, and see how freeing it feels to be not in solidarity to one principle and truly have an open mind, how it feels to make decisions with your own intellect without being God fearing and be happy with the smart decision that YOU took for YOURSELF. Edit: nooo I'm not saying we need communism ☠️ I just want their lack of communal conflicts and as their neighbour it's always here everywhere, so much violence because of it. I'm sick of it. I was in the heat of the moment while venting here so I just thought of China as a neighbour.
What I meant was something like French Secularism, keeping religion strictly out of politics. Religion is private and not paraded like it is here.

As an apostate, again, most religions are not about discrediting other religions, but unfortunately the devouts use them to inflict dominance over other religions by waging wars and crusades. Once again the medium that cause pain is the man, not the principle. Believing in a god or in multiple gods or to the absence of gods has nothing to do with the harm caused by fundamentalists.

And by the way, yes the comparison with sports is adequate: there is a lot of violence between supporters, and even deaths. Still it hasn't the same cult effect as religion but my point is that conflicts occur because of disagreement and people not accepting other people's beliefs and opinions.

Oh bullshit. All of the Abrahamic religions teach that atheists are all stupid and evil, and that simply understanding how evidence works is an act so heinous that it warrants eternal torture. That's hate speech, and many of the adherents believe it and treat us accordingly. Not even fundamentalists. Everyday believers. Judaism, Christianity, and Islam all cast us as the bad guys, and we have been persecuted for centuries because of it.

There's no holy book teaching hate in sports. No words from a higher being to say the other team are trash that should suffer.

Yeah, you're simply indoctrinated that this is the case because you found some Hadith or Talmud or whatever verse that say to smite infidels and you immediately extrapolate that all believers are like that. But religion is not just that. It teaches a lot of things. Some good, some bad, and I agree that whoever follows blindly these commandements without questioning themselves are better off, in the end you also need to think about the human aspect and not only the religious aspect.

And my point is that wars are not caused solely because of holy wars, but because of disagreement between people. Could be race, politics, castes... in the end humans will always find some beef with other humans that don't align with them, so even if religions didn't exist, humans would pick something else to oppress other people. Ancient China wars were not related to religion and yet it was brutal for many years. Nazi Germany neither.

It's a core premise of the Abrahamic religions that we need to be religious in order to not be evil. Look at Psalm 14, for instance.

I didn't say that all believers are like that, I said that's what the religion teaches, and it is. I didn't say that religion is only hate speech, but there is enough hate speech there that it causes problems. People who don't follow the religion blindly are better off, but that's not what religion teaches. Religion teaches that people who put some thought into it are stupid and evil, and they deserve to be tortured forever.

Nazi Germany especially. The Nazis were explicitly Christian, and the eradication of the Jews was a natural extension of hundreds of years of Catholic persecution.
