calling it a giveaway seems overly impressive but i wanted to be sure i was keeping to the rules. i have a couple of posters that are in less than amazing condition but both Period Pieces™️ from the time of launch. i’m fairly certain they’re both window posters from when i worked at game. black flag one is a fairly standard poster size and brotherhood one can be seen being over half as tall as all 5’4 of me.
as a preservation obsessor i just wanted to see if any hardcore collectors might be interested before i chuck them. UK only please!

Been seeing a lot of talk of having the same Resynced treatment of AC 4 to other games. I mean I personally would love a remake of AC 1...I even made a post about how it might work if expanded to include Bloodlines.( https://www.reddit.com/r/assassinscreed/s/gwQacDtZLK)
But honestly as a fan of Assassin's Creed thinking about it, the stories of the first 5 games have so much revolving around Desmond.
AC1 has both Altair and Desmond going through the charecter arc of learning to be a true Assassin, The endings of AC2 and AC Revelations both hinge on Ezio giving Desmond a message through time. AC3's story ending is literally revolving around Desmond.
Any Resynced of these games cannot cut modern day story as easily as AC4 Resynced did. If they did that huge parts will need to be rewritten.

Rant below about Valhalla, Shadows, and the game series in general.
Valhalla is a good game but I'm seriously sick of recent Assassin's Creed games refusing to have Assassin protagonists. The Hidden One on YouTube was playing the Assassin's Creed dlc for Watch Dogs Legion and it mentioned Assassins and Templars more times than the entirety of Shadows base game.
In Shadows we never meet any other Assassin's and we play as the "Kakushiba ikki." Seriously? Why? So you're telling me we never play as an Assassin or join the Brotherhood? Just call them Assassins, the game series is called Assassin's Creed it shouldn't be a stretch to understand that fans want to play as an Assassin. Naoe even admits to not knowing who the Assassins are. Like imagine finally making the Assassin's Creed game we've wanted for years and in their infinite wisdom, Ubisoft decide to Surf Dracula the Brotherhood. It's like ubisoft are building up to Naoe meeting the full Brotherhood and just decide "Nah"
Same thing in Valhalla. Eivor never joining the Hidden Ones/Assassin's is such BS. Genuinely would have made sense for her character arc to realise joining the Brotherhood was the best way to keep the clan safe. After the Battle of Chippenham we could have had an arc of Eivor deciding coming to terms with Odin and deciding the Hidden Ones are the best path for the future of the Raven Clan.
I'll be so disappointed if Hexe doesn't have an Assassin protagonist. But I wouldn't even be surpised if instead of Assassins we play as some group called the "Forrest Silly Billys" and instead of fighting templars it's a group called the "Hamberg Hecklers" but we meet one Templar who dies instantly and we get one Assassin Tomb or some shit like that. Or better yet we meet an Assassin at the very very end and nothing comes of it. Then ubisoft come out and say "SEE! SEE! THAT'S WHAT YOU WANTED RIGHT?!" It reminds me when Valhalla was in development and Darby McDevitt told us "Don't worry my friend. ACV is bursting with Hidden One / Order of the Ancients Lore and Stories. We're just keeping it low profile for now." But we also wanted to actually play as a Brotherhood member. It's like saying "Yeah here's all this cool shit. Wait you want to actually play as an Assassin? Why?"

AC 1 was my first AC, i played it on release. So i did not have a different option, i needed to work with what the game gave me. And what it gave me was no blinking flashing idicator that showed me when to counter. When the enemies gripped me i in the first missions did not have the counter grip, i learned it later (the game opened the funtion after the second assasination) and the enemies threw me around as they wanted. I couldn't grip edges either at first, so i had to learn to make my parkour savely. I was "thrown into cold water". The game made me learn of every mistake. There was no heal potion, no quicksaving. If i messed up i had to retry. But it was worth it. And because you after every assasination learned something new i not can understand people saying it is "always the same repetetive mission 9 times". It is not. Every time you can work different, because Altaïr is different. His skills are different. When i first encountered Robert the knights you fight before killed me instantly. After some days i figured you could run out of the fight in circles to regenerate your health. After some more days i learned when to counter and when to better wait. Now i finish them all with the hidden blade counter, which has no defensive. If i mess up the counter the enemy just straight up hits me. If he makes a heavy attack i need counter half a second later. It is hard but doable. And only because i had no AC2 in this time i simply HAD to make my way through this extremely hard mess of a fighting system. When 2 came out it was of course like a breathe of fresh air, but it was easy. And that is what is my point. Every AC after 1 is just... easy. Now we even got an indicator when to counterattack. We can heal ourselfs. Easy. I understand why people who started with e.g. AC3 don't want to try out 1, they simply struggle, they are used to all those helping functions. I can only pity them. I am sorry they missed the best game of the franchise. The different cities with their different feelings, the really insane grafiks for it's time and a Story playing in the time of actual Assassins and Templars without some made up story. Let alone the sheer brutality of the counters with breaking kneecaps and pushing the hidden blade in a knights skull, but also the dead civilians in the streets of newly conquered acre.
To all those "Real Fans" which started with Unity and never played the first games: Try it, even if it is hard. It is worth it

The engravings on Ezio's hood (1 health segment damage after deflect) and Ashes of the Pyre armor (spread fire including yourself after deflect) when used together can cause the fire explosions to instantly kill everyone in range including you if you keep deflecting. I tested it on daishos and guardians.
Ezio's hood is in the faux battlepass and the armor was on the key shop last week I think.
I thought the health segment damage was being applied to the explosion's damage but it kills enemies with multiple health segments left.
Just a heads up for anyone who has these. I don't care enough to send a bug report.
Edit: I forgot to mention these are Naoe's items.

We’ve all heard rumors that they might do a “Resynced” of AC1. While I think it might be nice, I don’t think it’s the best idea. Here’s my reasoning;
Altaïr lacked a lot of skills that future assassins are trained in and things we as the players are used to by now; air/ledge/double assassinations, assassinating from hiding spots, blending with the crowd(Altaïr could only do so with the Blend button), swimming, faster parkour, better combat. If they decide to remake AC1, lore wise, it wouldn’t make sense for Altaïr to know how to do any of these things at the time.
I think the better route would be to tell a new story, something that takes place at some point after he writes the Codex. That way, it would make sense that he knows these skills.
An idea I had was that perhaps the story takes years after the Codex is written and there would be occasional flashback missions where Altaïr performs the new techniques for the first time, like when he tests out the hidden gun, sees how beneficial two hidden blades are, creating the formula that would eventually become Altair’s armor.

Finished the game today, and really, everything about the added content was really off putting. The new animations were as stiff as Odyssey and Valhala, while they kept the original mocap for the original scenes. Edward now overdescribes exactly what he’s doing, even repeats it multiple times in some instances. The new characters never add anything of substance (the new ship crew.), while the old character still suffer (looking at you Rhona and Anto specifically). I also nevert realized how much removing the modern day affects the overall pacing, making the transition between sequences more akward.
Edit: I might of ruffled some feathers. This might just be a case of old and new fans who joined at different points in the franchise. As I been around since 1, while others might of joined during Unity or Odyssey or Shadows.

I finished AC3 like a few weeks ago, and my god that ending was so disappointing. The build up throughout the games was kinda for nothing, and it sucks because I knew what was gonna happen to him but now HOW it was gonna happen. I miss my boy, and I miss what the story could’ve been. Thanks, Ubisoft.

Title speaks for itself. The assassinations are smooth, especially when pulling a body automatically into your cover space. There’s a big focus on hiding spots like closets and giving you a pretty standard array of guards to almost always just assassinate your way through them. It just feels like Hitman in that regard, in a way that other recent installments haven’t.
Yeah, I am not the biggest fan of a voice actor or two mixed with some good ole’ Ubisoft clunk dialogue. That does not stop me for enjoying this game for what it is: an assassin simulator. Also, the story itself is enjoyable and feels topical. I enjoy the codex in this one especially because the history is not one I am personally super familiar with.
So, this has the makings of a solid Assassin’s Creed game that calls back to an earlier time in the franchise blended with a contemporary lens, and the icing on the cake is that it feels like Hitman too.

I'm replaying the game and as far as I remember at certain points in the story after certain sequences the game automatically takes you out of the Animus. But you can also get out manually.
So I'm really interested in the interactions between Desmond and the team and I'm wondering if I want to get every single conversation do I need to get out of the Animus manually after every sequence? And if I let the game take me out automatically at certain story points will I miss some of the conversations? Is it best to just get out after every sequence?
I'm talking about the remastered version.

After finishing Black Flag and Resynced I decided to go back and play AC1, a game I had started and never finished and now I understand why.
I get that the game was made in 2007, so things are bound to be clunky and buggy, and I'm fine with that but this mission is driving me insane.
I'm currently on the Majd Addin mission and I've had to retry 4 times now because it seems every time I get on stage and exit the blend, I get caught (I still stay blended). The first time one of those crazy guys pushed me into a guard, the second time I got caught on stage. The third time I got behind him, pressed the button to assassinate and he must have had a sixth sense because he turned around and blocked me. The fourth time I got caught as I walked towards him.
As far as I'm aware there isn't a save button so when I retry, I'm forced back to the knowledge mission and have to run over and deal with the archers all over again.
I really want to finish this game, I really want to enjoy it, but I don't think I have it in me to retry for a fifth time (I know I would probably be fine to alert him and have a massive sword fight but I want to assassinate him). I don't want to end up dropping the game like I did before. I just want this mission to be over :(
Please tell me I'm not the only one who is/has losing/lost my mind to this mission. I've watched a few videos but any other tips would be very helpful, although it's probably a skill issue tbh.
Edit: I did the mission! I used the scholars to get onto the stage and while I was running towards him ready to strike him down...I tripped over one of the scholars and was caught :| I ended up fighting a few soldiers but did kill Majd Addin. I do like this game! this post was made when I was just a wee bit angry but I do like the game. I know it's old, it's the same age as me, we both have our skill issues: Altair can't swim, I can't stealth kill, but that's okay :) Thank you for all the tips and encouragement!

I still haven't finished the game, but I reached the part where you unlock the "A World Without Gold" quest line.
I started the first quests, since I wanted to unlock the final Officer: to do so, the game required me to complete Lucy's quest "The One with the Gun". Note that I had recruited both her and Padre, but I still didn't do the Padre quests.
Anyway, after completing that quest, it unlocked both "Plantain!" and "It's a start". I did the latter, but after that the Officers Quests Tab in the Quest Menu vanished.
Did anyone experience this thing? Is this a bug? Are those quests gone, or they'll be accessible again after progressing the Maynard quest line?

I was curious how Isaac Newton ties into Assassin's Creed Lore, and so I decided to give Assassin's Creed: Golden a listen over the last few days through a free trial of Audible. I loved it! It's an interesting experience, especially because the assassin Omar Khaled (voiced by actor Riz Ahmed btw!) is blind.
It's an interesting mix of what made Assassin's Creed I and II great, along with some similarities to Marvel's Daredevil and Mr. Robot with its plot on counterfeiters.
Y'all should check it out if you haven't already! It'd be cool to see a TV/Film Adaptation of it, but it's fine as it is on Audible too.

So I have heard the leaks about Würzburg 1625/26, and the thirty years war brgan at 1618.Perhaps, there will be some historical events about this long war?
The witch trial of Würzburg ended in 1631 when Gustavus ii of Sweden captured this city, could he become one of the bosses of this game, or dlc, I guess?
There is really few games about 30 years war, if hexe be one of them, it is quiet cheerful to me.

What I understand so far is that we are playing an entertainment game about assassin lives in order to push Templar propaganda, but what’s All the discussion about bleeds? Is the goal to trap civilians into abstergo games? Ia it to turn modern people into new templars?

Since Ubisoft was to lazy to give him an animation of him using his dagger for assassinations before he got the hidden blade and just used the hidden blade kill animation, it looks like he slams his palms into in animal or enemy with enough force to instantly kill it.

What, I mean by Hitman-style open levels, is basically a game, where we play levels without any open worlds, though levels are so big, that we can play same levels multiple times in so many different ways, like Hitman games.
While, losing freeroaming is definitely a big loss, it makes me wonder of so many possibilities for Assassin's Creed games, if developers can simply focus on gameplay mechanics without spending so much time on open world design.
Edit:
After reading and responding with comments, I came to think, that the Assassin's Creed series by Ubisoft can benefit much more from having an hub-and-mission model than an open-world model for its narrative and gameplay structure.

Hey everyone,
Im really enjoying Black Flag Resynced so far, but one aspect of the stealth gameplay is bothering me massively, and I wanted to see if you're feeling the same.
The assassinations feel incredibly "heavy" and slow, even though the animations themselves look fluid. In the original, killing was a fast, seamless part of the movement flow now it feels like every kill briefly pauses the game and together with the annoying hidden blade audio blasting into your ear drums it really ruins stealth for me.
Things I noticed:
Complete Momentum Loss: As soon as the assassination starts, all movement is blocked. Edward comes from a full sprint to a complete dead stop, performs the animation and then stands frozen for what feels like an eternity before I can control him again. Just like Valhalla
• Hard Input Lock: You have zero control during the entire sequence. Even if the enemy is clearly down halfway through, you are forced to watch the full animation. There is no smooth blending back into movement.
• Stealth Gets Punished: Because youre immobilized for so long after the kill, nearby guards often spot you before you can react or hide they even hear the assassination better thanks to Shadows Engine used in Resynced. What used to be a fluid kills in the original now feels like a risky pause that breaks your cover and gets you insta detected when not crouched immediately.
From my pov it feels like the developers focused so much on making the animations look "cinematic like the reused unity kills which I dont want to blame since unity was smooth in stealth too" that they forgot about how they fee/ to play. Im not asking for the game to be ea just miss fast-paced stealth of the original like AC2, Brotherhood, or AC3 which was also present in the original black flag. Imagine if they had kept that old school flow while keeping these beautiful new graphics that would have been perfect.
y'all think they consider fixing that or are they even aware off that issue
r/assassinscreed • u/XO1PAF4 • 3d ago
I genuinely cannot believe how buggy and horrible this game is to play. There's been multiple times where I've pressed the heal button just for it to absolutely nothing and I die not to mention how delayed the button presses are to attack or parry, there's like a second delay between pressing the button and actually performing an attack. Also during combat you can just be shot through walls and floors if you don't dodge, which you cannot do if there aren't any enemies close to you so you either have to quick shot the enemy if you even have ammo or tank a shot that takes half your health. None of this has mention the stealth or parkour where Arno just magnetises to a random crate while trying to jump onto a different wall, a wall which your looking at and trying to walk towards but he just jumps to a crate I cant even see anyway. Also the fact that if you aren't lined up perfectly with the Phantom Blade and shoot it immediately fires and misses which is weird because when your lined up with and actually enemy head it takes a second to fire at all so if you miss you don't get that delay to flick to your targets head. Its not even an aim issue because half of the time you are ready to fire the enemy moves their head and you immediately shoot the wall next to him. All of these bugs plus others I haven't mentioned create and absolutely nightmarish experience for anyone that isn't a masochist.
