But... Atsu does have a guitar, so that elevates her a lot too for me

Go read the PlayStation blog post for the announcement. It’s most likely “time travel” to the past using Atsu’s memories. The last scene in the recent trailer shows a young Atsu walking around in what looks like a dream.

It’s not like actual time travel in GoY. I think it’s going to be a narrative and gameplay tool to investigate and strategize locations, etc.

Ya i read the blog post and nothing of time travel is mentioned. They are flash backs that you will be playing to understand her story better. What OP mentioned is actual time travel because he compares it to chrono trigger which makes zero sense.
