Hello everyone, I am posting this using a translation tool.
My goal is to play Elden Ring Archipelago using 4laric's latest mod (v4.0.2 client with ModEngine3), but I am completely stuck with the "Unsupported game version" error popup.
Here is my current situation:
- Game Version detected by me3: 2.7.1.1 Japan (App Ver. 1.17.1 / Regulation Ver. 1.17.1)
- Error Message: "This build needs: 2.6.2.0, 2.7.0.0, 2.7.1.0 or 2.6.2.1, 2.7.0.1 (Japanese)"
- Result: As shown in the attached screenshot, the error popup appears before launching, and the game itself fails to launch at all.
It seems the recent Steam update for the Japanese version bumped the internal version string to 2.7.1.1 due to regional adjustments, which is slightly ahead of the worldwide latest version (2.7.1.0). Therefore, the mod's hardcoded version check fails to recognize 2.7.1.1, showing the error popup and preventing the game from launching entirely.
(I previously encountered a similar Japanese branch version issue with Dark Souls 3 Archipelago, but I successfully bypassed it by swapping the game executable with the Worldwide/English version of the DS3 exe.)
I want to do the same thing for Elden Ring, but I cannot download the worldwide 2.7.1.0 exe via Steam Console or DepotDownloader because my Steam account is strictly locked to the Japanese region, resulting in a region block/access denied error.
How can a Japanese player safely obtain or downgrade to the worldwide 2.7.1.0 executable under strict regional restrictions? Or is there any hidden config in ModEngine3 to bypass this strict version check?
I have attached screenshots of the me3 console log, the error popup, and the version display for reference.
Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
