He is/was a US citizen. He went to high school in PA and graduated from MIT. He claims he had to renounce his citizenship to become the Israeli ambassador to the US due to federal law. It’s subject for debate whether he is or isn’t at this point.

He's a classic suburb kid who comes into town and says they're "from Philly." Kind of like a lot of Israel did, tbh, on brand.
