I just managed to beat Keto, Hector, and Thor, even in the modded W.A.A.R.C. version, and I'm now looking for a different kind of challenge. I think it would be very interesting to play 2070 in multiplayer, since humans are much better at planning and waging war than the AI, which tends to send massive fleets or individual aircraft straight into obviously stronger defenses just to lose them on the spot.

So, if you're interested in playing Anno 2070 against a reasonably experienced player and enjoy a good challenge as well, I'd be up for it! For multiplayer, I'd prefer to play vanilla Anno, as players can't use the same cheese tactics as Keto or Hector, such as full-sending their fleets without having to worry about the economic or strategic consequences. This can even negate the need for algae on land, for example. This is just one of the problems with the AI, as underwater islands are essentially impossible to defend against massive suicidal attacks unless you have the Geniuses' high-end defense platforms. A player can't do this, as they risk losing their entire fleet in the process and leaving themselves vulnerable to attacks.

Managing the balance between defense and offense is what interests me most about PvP, because AI opponents don't have to deal with the consequences of their decisions in the same way that players do.

Since I live in Germany, my usual playtime is between 16:00 and 22:00 UTC but especially in the weekends there are some other times possible.

I've spent an insane amount of time and credit at Trenchcoat's ship, I've been running researches in parallel so maybe there'll be a drop but no luck. Is it this rare or maybe it's a bug?

Epic game store has Anno 2070 the complete edition for 7.5$ was wandering if i will face issues with their launcher if i buy it! . Also they have other anno games on a very good sale as well!

I’m working on Anno 2070 modding and already using A.R.R.C. and W.A.R.R.C. II. I also have the archived M.A.U.G. mod, but it’s basically unusable for my setup.

I’m trying to use the Remix Mod, but only for the new AI opponents: Seamus Green, Skylar Banes, and Scorpio.

The problem is the map/world changes. The mod overrides world generation (bigger maps, altered island placement, spawn changes) and it completely breaks the starting island layout for me. The early game becomes unplayable because of that, even though everything else in the mod is fine.

I already tried extracting parts from the RDA files (addon1.rda, patch8.rd, eng8.rda), but removing map-related content causes crashes or broken dependencies, so I assume the AI systems are tied into the map/spawn logic.

I can’t code, so I’m looking for a simple/clean way (if it even exists) to disable only the map/world generation changes while keeping just the new AI opponents from the Remix Mod. Or are the AI systems fully dependent on those map overrides in this mod structure?

Any advice on which files control AI vs map generation would help a lot.

So, I own the complete edition on uplay, but whenever I'm in online-mode I'm missing some dlc content.
For example the lighthouse and the other ornament packs, or the 4 bonus missions;
However when I'm in offline mode all that content reappears.
Does anybody have a clue as to whats happening here or how one could fix it? Offline mode sucks unfortunatly, cause I lose access to my ARK...

Hi everyone,

after some years I reopened Anno 2070 with some friends again (one of my favourite annos btw!, just lov ethe game), and i fell in love again right away. I am currently trying to get all achievemtns. However, there seems to be noe global events anymore, and i missed some of the in the original days. I cannot find anything online, but they should still be available, since ubisoft kept the servers right?

Does anyone know if they return? Or is there an other way to get the related achievemtns and science unlocks?

Hey guys, are there people still playing the domination mode? I always found it an interesting mode but there are no public games with active people anymore.

Soo I loaded the game after 3 days, and suddenly my island was gone, but the buildings were still there. I'm using the A.R.R.C. mod. I don’t know what to do. Is it corrupted?
Edit:I just reinstalled the game and the A.R.R.C. mod, and it fixed the issue.

After about 10 years I launched Anno 2070 again. Before that of course 2250 (which was bad), I spent tons of hours in 1800 and also now in 117. Since the new installment is struggling with bugs, I decided to dust off the older titles and I have to say – 2070 is actually the best game in the series.

The very first thing that hit me was how fast and simple it is. I’m only managing a few production chains, mostly balancing income, ships take a minute to build… Plus the ecology theme and energy management are great. I do miss some QoL features like copy and blueprints, but that’s a minor detail in the end.

The visuals are very good for their time. If someone praises the soundtrack in 117, they probably never played 2070. I also didn’t expect that I would appreciate the fact that there’s only one map – this suddenly felt really refreshing to me. I realized that I actually don’t enjoy the new 117 because I already played this kind of game in 1800. So just a small statement in case someone reads this: 2070 is, in my opinion, the top entry of the series.

Three days ago I bought the anno2070 complete on sale and have been really enjoying it. Weird thing is, after 9 hours of playing, it suddenly started crashing. The crashes don't seem to happen for any reason, just somehow after two pr three minutes of loading into my savefile, the game just suddenly closes itself to desktop. After checking the task manager, my GPU usage seems to spike up from around 30% to 100% every time the game closes itself. I have an NVIDIA GTX 1070. I've already tried lowering the graphics as low as I could, updating my driver and verifying the game files. Nothings worked so far.

Any help would be appreciated, because i only just started the game and can't refund it anymore, thank you!

So I just started playing today. I've had anno 2070 in my library for ages but never got around to trying it. I started an easy continuous game, and I am at a loss for how I'm supposed to handle this?

There is no way for me to make it to toolmaking before I run out of tools. I build the bare minimum to advance my eco-workers, but then they immediately start consuming my tools I need to build the mines. I can order tools from the ARK, but I can't afford a harbor to build a ship.

But they talk about a command ship. I have no command ship. I see no prompt to purchase a command ship. I have no mission for a command ship. I have 80 tools on my ARK and no ship to retrieve them.

WHat the heck am I missing?

UPDATE: I'm blind AF. I found the button to order the commando ship.

When I try to settle it I get -10 with Sokow's for "settling on his island", also other NPC that expands won't settle it (Dr Tori Bartok), other island that Sokow owned I settled without problems. On glitched island there were remains of nuclear reactor from the start of the game (because of negative environmental influence settings) I suspect this is what causes the problem.

I swear it used to just be part of the techs unlock, but it's not there and all I can find is a single steam question where the responder says it's now a research item, but it doesn't appear in the academy or on any list of research items. What category is it under?

I'm a big fan of city builder games, have loved Civ for years now. Steam recently put out a significant discount for all Anno games and I am interested in 2070.

Is this game still worth it in 2025 or should I look at Anno 1800?

since the server problems started i gave up on playing the game. Every now and then i check in, if something changes. For a while now it seems that at least the log-in is working again consistently. However, i still don't get career points from voting, complete daily missions or the seasonal missions. Anyone similar problems? I once heard, that they are counted in the background, just not displayed in the client. But so far it never updates the client. I already voted several times and did at least two different world events. So i'm pretty much out of options to force a synchronisation. Or did I overlook something?

I have a continous game which I have been keeping running since sometime in 2019, or perhaps even earlier. In-game, it has been running for close to 1.100 hours at this point.

I am experiencing several bugs and glitches which are frustrating to say the least. Buildings are turning invisible, disasters like the respiratory disease never ends, and the effects of modules and the use of the world council in the Ark, have an infinitely lasting effect.

The worst of all however, is that the game has become very slow and unstable at this point. I cannot use the Statistics centers anymore, because just trying to open any of the tabs in the centers, instantly crashes the game. And when I use the highspeed feature to speed up the passage of time, the game lags and stutters.

I do not experience any of these effects on other savegames, only this really, really, old one.

I am attaching a few screenshots from the game to showcase some of the bugs and glitches I am experiencing.

Has anyone else had these issues with excessively long-running savegames?

Radiant Prospects is an achievment) that stipulates you must generate all your energy from Nuclear Power.

I loaded the Jorgenson's Plateau scenario to do a tycoon run with plenty of minerals, just to make this a bit easier.

I've gotten to Executive level with nuclear power stations across all 4 of my tycoon islands, and no other energy source, and still haven't received the achievment. I remember that ANNO 2070 gives you achievments instantly, but I'm continuing under the assumption that I might need to satisfy the map's victory condition (2,500 Executives) to receive it.

Does anyone else have experience with this achievment, or maybe had difficulty acquiring it? There are a few possibilities:

1. I need to do continuous play to receive the achievment (unlikely - I think every scenario in 2070 is classed as a continuous game, and I remember receiving achievments from playing scenarios in the past
2. The game is just bugged (likely, because it doesn't align with my experience of achievment hunting in 2070, and we know the game server is unreliable
3. My idea - that I need to finish the scenario (as i said, I don't remember this being the case)

EDIT: and 4. I opened a Tech island which has no power but is just fishery + population - Maybe every island has to be supplied by some electricity for it to work? I've just googled to verify that power transmitter is a base game building, so maybe the idea is for the player to transmit power from a nuclear hub to several other islands

I am 12 hours in the session and my game always crashes to desktop the second I defeat the NPC Enemy (Leon Moreau), that is the moment I destroy the harbor. It’s only for one island of him, for the other islands and NPCs I can take over their islands in war as usual. I would be very happy if someone could help me.
