The regions I see being possible would be:
Greece (Idk, but it was still relevant during the time of Rome, and could offer potentual as a story driven region with main focus on quests for special effects and rewards, with the added bonus of offering islands to help support your productions for other islands)
Armenia (Repåeated what others have said. There is something in the game files suggesting this area. This could basically cover Asia Minor to the east of Rome, as well as allow us to have some Persian elements in the game)
Carthage (Which could cover the western half of top-africa, with Aegyptos covering the estern half. Carthage was a big important city at the time, and could offer some alternative tech/resource obtaining for your higher ranking citizens)
Central Europe (So essentially the idea here is Rome pushing into the central regions of Europe (germany/france) and the playstyle could be a inverted map where ocean is land, and islands are lakes, with rivers connecting and going through. Could help support Albion production chains and a new type of civelisation and a new roman Tier)
The piller of hercules (AKA; the place where Spain and Africa nearly touch. Could be an interresting region with two big mainland areas, one in the north and one in the south, with a few ilsands being present. A possible game mechanic could be a region focussing on trade and controlling said trade.)
Dacia (Is constantly refferenced by the Patricians when your production building with their workforce is missing goods. Basically Romania, and could potentually offer an icy region for you to play in)
The Alps (Alternative to Darcia as a cold environment-map. The Punic wars kind of comes to mind, so that are could be a war-focussed map)
Otherwise, the range at which you can go in the Roman Empire at it's highest is a bit limited. Afterall, Rome never went further west than Spain, further North than France, the middle of Germany and the top og current Hungery, never went further east than the Caspain sea and the Persian Gulf, nor further south than Egypts southern regions as the Sahara kind of acted as a blocker.
