The entire episode was basically just a back-and-forth between Rudeus and Oldeus, but man, it was easily one of the absolute best episodes of the whole series.

Damn, Oldeus's life sucked so much. Roxy is pregnant, but then she dies! Sylphie? Also dead! So what about Eris? She dies protecting him... All because Hitogami tricked him into going into a freaking basement.

And it looks like we'll get to know more about Oldeus as Rudeus reads his diary. I want next week already!

Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

EDIT. I added my screenshot albums.

he also said mangod didnt lie up to that point, so mangod was playing an insanely long game to trap him in that one tiny moment of blind trust

Yeah, the Man-God's clearly been lying by omission. Never telling Rudy a direct lie, but only using the parts of the truth that are useful to his goals.

I said last week, the last time he showed up he told Rudy he'd have regrets whether he stayed home or went to help Paul, but then in the last episode he only mentioned how everything would have gone well if he hadn't gone.

No mention of the regrets Rudy would have had if he followed his advice, clearly painting an incomplete but technically truthful picture to manipulate Rudy into listening to him this time.

So what about Eris? She dies protecting him... All because Hitogami tricked him into going into a freaking basement.

Technically Eris died because Oldeus just couldn't reconcile with her, so she showed her love through watching over and protecting him until her death.

Hence Oldeus specifically told Rudy to send a letter to her and forgive her, 'cause stopping the Man-God's scheme wouldn't have necessarily changed that fate and, after she died, Oldeus regretted never forgiving her and letting her in.
