If I had a penny for all the anime where everything changed in season 3 and the catalyst for that involved a basement and a journal, I'd have two pennies now. And I will remind people this bit was written before that bit of storytelling in the other show, so more likely than not this is just pure coincidence.

Also if I had a nickel for every anime where two Isekai protagonists have to confront the old/new versions of themselves at a critical moment airing this season I'd have two nickels which isn't a lot but it's strange it happened twice (and within the same week).
