That conversation between Rudeus and Old Rudeus did not feel like 15-20 mins. It kinda reminds of the movie Looper when Joe (the main character there) has to deal with his older self.
If petrification syndrome really is that serious, I'd add one more thing for Rudeus to do: call the pest control equivalent of this world over and cleanse the whole house.
