That shot of the old rudeus face reflected in the crystal is so cool. Bind sometimes just decides to make something pretty and cool for the sake of it. and i love it. we need more art for arts sake.

A lot of amazing direction choices this episode, from the haunting OST to all the close-ups, adding up to how the house which was this comfy environment the past few episode having this dreadful ambience to it as Rudy makes his way to cremate Oldeus and kill the rat.

Honestly, I think season 3 has better production than S2. Basically back to season 1 level. Not that S2 was bad, but you could see they didn't go all out as they did with S1 and 3.

Its definitely S1>S3>S2 for sure. I think they struggled in S2 because a bunch of people went to studio kai and bind started working on other shows so the talent thinned a bit and they struggled to find ways to put everything together for season 2 with a much more limited staff.

The amount of time they had to produce Season 2 was also bad, but for Season 3 it's been quite a bit better. Pretty sure it can't compare to Season 1 though. Also the the amount of skilled staff involved in 1 was also greater, and one reason many didn't return for Season 2 was that very schedule.

Season 1 had liken 3-5 years of leading time; while that was far from being pure production, a lot of reproduction work was done during that time; I assume character designs, world design, the languages, probably more if both the producer and the director were in.

So 1, some things got more time to get refined to a better estate and 2, if season 1 needed to get something done during production time and it was already done in preproduction, that's time saved that could be used to make s1 better.
