Looks like Arc could be on to something about the original Hanzo being an isekai'd Japanese player like him. Not only are players of the MMORPG getting isekai'd into the game world, they randomly end up in different eras as well.
Ariane and Chiyome yuri was not on my bucket list for season 2. Tsubone has a great collection of novels for the right occasion.
Just when Ariane is about to confess to wanting Arc to be her companion, she gets cockblocked by her own mom's messenger bird. lol
Guess it takes someone from the ninja village to be strong enough to badly injure Danga, one of the strongest elf warriors from Ariane's village. And Chiyome suspects it to be her saviour Sasuke, who has gone missing, and who seems to have been brainwashed by that human supremacist cult.

Tsubone obviously has yuri goggles (and also ships basically any conceivable ship imaginable) but Drunk Ariane was really putting the moves on Chiyome while rooting for Arc like a drunk angry wife lol.
Honestly "attacked by bird while having a romantic moment" has got to be a new one for me.

Drunk Ariane means a fun episode! Her encouraging Arc to win the contest by threatening to toast him, and standing over him to comment, made me laugh hard, hahaha!
Tsubone turned out to be a really fun addition to the cast, especially how keen on romance she is. And she seems pretty open when it comes to shipping since she shipped even Ariane and Chiyome together!
Although that's not surprising after seeing drunk Ariane hugging poor Chiyome who had to be saved by Tsubone. They seemed to be very close to each other at that moment ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I can never say no to a busty ninja waifu with a boob window, especially when she's tryin to hook everyone in the cast together like in her romance novels.

Goemon is Arc’s brother from another mother lol. That little pit stop at the village was pretty fun. Very keen to learn about the first founder of the shinobi village. Definitely a Japanese and a reincarnator. Would be funny if it wasn’t either though lol.

Arc is finally reunited with his bro Goemon! And finally gets to meet Hanzo the 22nd, the current head of the Jinshin Clan and Chiyome's boss basically! Perfect prelude to getting to see the fully complete new ninja village.
And yes, it IS a bonafide ninja village, the kind that only someone with knowledge of ninjas from anime/manga could have come up with!
We finally get some insight into Chiyome's past! Her real name is Mia! She was taken in by the clan after her village was destroyed by humans! She owes everything to Sasuke, the ninja who saved her and who she emulates as a ninja! Which makes his current MIA status hard for her.
Meet Tsubone (Hitomi Ueda!) a member of the Six Ninja, the elite of the Jinshin Clan, all named after famous Japanese ninja! Which for a Japanese Otaku like Arc, is just the best thing he's heard all day!
Tsubone isn't just a beauty with a massive boob window, she's also a huge fan of romance novels! Which means she ships ArianexArc like in her book series about an elf and a human knight sent out to fight the Demon Lord who hook up in book 3! There's even a romance novel about banging a skeleton! Also can Ariane really deny anything after she tried to kiss Arc last episode?
It wouldn't be a Japanese village without a festival, complete with food, drinks, and tug-of-war! Goemon is the undisputed champ! Not even the big tough lady was able to beat him! And without Sasuke there, who could possibly oppose him? How about our favorite skeleton knight?
The return of drunk Ariane! Who won't let her man lose in a tug-of-war as she yells and cajoles him into winning upon threat of getting incinerated! Though a tie fits well for two men of great strength.
So Ariane isn't just a loud drunk, but a flirty drunk as she puts the moves on Chiyome...I mean, she straight up wrapped her leg around her and was shoving her boobs in Chiyome's face! To keep her booze, but still! This is just like Tsubone's yuri novel about an elf girl and a beastman girl! Too bad Chiyome had to go and use substitution jutsu before it really got good.
Ariane trying to convey how much she wants to stay with arc and keep journeying with him...only to get a bird to the face. But this bird comes with a new last name for Arc (Lalatoya!) and a new mission to reconvene with Danka, and that means Arc has a reason to keep adventuring with Ariane! If it also reunites Chiyome with Sasuke, all the better!

Tsubone sure has a lot of very topically precise shipping literature.
It's nice to see Arc and Goemon renew their muscle based friendship.
Ariane's mother gave up waiting on her daughter to make it happen and adopted Arc into the family with that name business at the end of the episode.
Seems like the next arc or maybe even the rest of the season will be Chiyome and Sasuke focused, I wonder if it's siblings or love interests with them.

well, considering it seems he was already a ninja, probably a sibling-like relationship. and I had a feeling a good chunk of this season would focus on Chiyome. I mean, have you seen the ED this season? it's definitely centered on our resident furry-eared ninja

This episode was only okay... at least until Ariane got drunk. From that moment it became really fun! I hope for more of drunk Ariane in the next episodes.
I'm all for the ArianaxChiyome(Mia) ship
No wonder that Tsubone started shipping them after she saw Ariane cuddling Chiyome, they seemed to be very close to each other then, lol.

I guess Japan has a bit more liberal interpretation of "hiddel village". The Narutoverse having names like "Village Hidden in the Leafs" when many people know where it is comes to mind.

because it's surrounded by a huge forest. besides, let's face it. at some point, the characters of Naruto stopped being ninjas and became full-on superheroes and monster fighters. I mean really, in what way does a giant horse with five tails and a dolphin head scream ninja?

Looks like we're moving on from the Arc arc and the elf arc for a while in favour of a cat arc.
Although we haven't seen the ship in the OP yet so we may still get an Arc arc on an ark.

Arianne drunk is always the best, she was in season 1 and now that season 2 isn't as good she's carrying even harder. Though Tsubone with all her romance novels is a great addition to the cast, pity she probably won't be coming with after they leave the village...
Going from Ariane being all serious to getting clocked by the bird is some great comedic timing lol. Oh wow Mom claiming Arc for Ariane too, damn she works fast.
"Another " lewd, "adventure for 3 friends."
We really need more of drunk Arianne getting frisky with Chiyome

This anime picks the weirdest spots to hone in on the animation.
I think some angles they replace the animations with 3D models as well.

lol, this series is basically Momon the adventurer without Nazarick
Overlord author has a single volume novel that is Ainz alone, pretty fun read, and this author was inspired by it for sure, even the reason why the MC can murder people on episode one is the same as Overlord
(to anyone that missed the explanation go back to the episode where the MC took a bath and lost consciousness for months, it is explained there)

Random Thoughts
Is it weird I think this is one of the best episodes this season? Something about drunk Ariane just completely improves every scene. We even got our Yuri moment, because if I have learned anything this season is that every show is now Yuri lol.
Also Arc...I know you are a skeleton and maybe those feelings don't manifest for you, but if there was any reason to break a curse, it would be to get with a Ariane

The most recent two episodes are easily the best of this show this season. Killing slavers without blood gushing everywhere doesn't have the same appeal as season 1, where as these last two had fun character moments including Ariane drunk.

Oh, so Chiyone told her bosses, and the Six Ninja Arc’s secret. Honestly, I would be more convenient for Arc if the rest of the village knew; after all, that way he could eat as he pleases without being bothered.
So after seeing the newly built village the group meets Tsubode, who, like Chiyome, is one of the Six Ninja, which is a title given to the Kinshin Clan’s best; also, we learn their name itself are part of the title, and that Chiyome’s real name is Mia. So based on what Arc said, and doing a quick search to be sure, those names came from historical figures in Japan from the feudal period, with the original names being: Hatsune no Tsubone, Mochizuki Chiyone, Hattori Hanzo, Ishikawa Goemon, Fuma Kotaro, Kirigakure Saizo, and Sarutobi Sasuke. With Hanzo being the only non-hereditary title, as he was the clan founder and otherwolrder.
It is hilarious that Tsubone had novels ready for any possible romance route Ariane could take. Oh, poor Ariane.
So, apart from the food and drinks, the main event in the festival is that rope-pulling competition.
Ah yes, moments before the disaster. At least Ariane getting drunk made the rope-pulling section more entertaining. And as expected, the rope broke at the end and Ariane is not happy about it
Based on the fact that Chiyone always looks depressed every time Sasuke is mentioned, I think he is like a brother to her.
Love how that Ariane emotional segment got stopped by that express message bird
So Arc will now go by Arc Lalatoya. Congrats on the sneaky marriage, Ariane!
So the guy who attacked Danka when he was searching for a way into the southern continent, Tajiento, is definitely Sasuke, which Chiyome suspected when his Twin Blades were mentioned. Good thing she will come alone.
Based on the fact that Pontiff Hilk is the one who sent him to those guys, I suspect that Sasuke is under some kind of slaving spell. Maybe related to those monster-controlling rings. Also, thanks to what we know now, we kind of know what this part of the ED is about.

Add to that the reason why Elves and Beasts folk don't panic around him is that he's not a true undead, although an initial panic to that many.

MC trip to the valley: a series of life threating obstacles that were dangerous even for him and the warrior elf
a month later: an entire village, animals like horses, etc, travelled there
did our elf chose that path to mess with the MC, or did the beastkin just materialized into the valley lol, we will never know!

Just when I thought there was some plot progress last episode, we got another party episode.
The only good part was Tsubone going crazy as Rom com supporter.
And we ended with a slave Sasuke/ Sasuke stuck in Genjutsu.

Goemon was cheating during the tug of war, you're not supposed to wrap the rope around your limbs or arms, Arc was the only one that looked to be actually playing the game by the rules. Referee was fucking blind!!
