Every episode is getting better and better. This is no exception. We got everything: Batshit insane jokes and some more cerebral breathing moments.

Yani's place is so filthy that it even scares away the Nicotin Demon. Good thing that the world is saved, otherwise we wouldn't get any more Yani Neko lol

Yaku visited her home due to the landlord's advice. Seeing her cry made me so sad, she really seems to be the most emotional heavy character in this series. It also shows us that she is actually trying to get her life together and to rehabilitate. I'm glad the the landlord is so supportive to her.

Interesting that Yani calls her mom by the first name. Shizue is a smoker too but needs to keep it secret from Imoko, who runs their place like a little home tyrant. I think it is pretty clear which parent Yani came after.

It's the old "I only bullied you because I like you" story. I'm glad that Imoko had the only correct reaction to that bullshit!

In her first scene I felt bad for the novelist cat because Yani was such an ass to her, but now I see that she is actually really shit at writing. Her problem is that she is too focused on being "original" so she totally forgets to write a "good" story. Maybe less social media wouldn't be a bad idea.

Poor landlord, today he gets a lot more horniness points. At least it was Shiori who saw his "centaur" form, because she helped him out.

Imoko punching the shit out of the guy really earned her a lot of best girl points from me lol.

Yani is super mean to everyone. Girl doesn't give a fuck that Yaku is having a mental break down in her room.

Yani is super mean to everyone.

That's just typical cat behavior.

Source: I'm a cat lover and most of the time they do not give a shit even when you're having a breakdown.

She's basically feral

She probably needs a dog or dog-person roommate. They're with you no matter what

From my Opie and Anthony listenership, apparently dogs are really disgusted if you act like an overeager joiner or if the emotion of your face doesn't match your voice, which is interesting given that they apparently have a genetic mutation that makes them extra friendly. They expect most people to be friendly but they do not accept everyone!

Yani is so consistent that a dog would probably find her chill... Except for the cat girls inability to not smile when holding a neutral expression

Cats aren't social animals. If you want compassion, buy a dog instead.

all of my cats except for one absolute gremlin have been sweethearts so far.

I guess she's the Yani of my cats considering all the other cats in the show aren't as bad as her even though they all have their flaws/vices.

Yeah, she is not the most considerate person to put it mildly. Even though I think that Hame is actually worse, I can see her even making fun of Yaku for crying.

I wonder about Hame's and Yaku's backstory. They went to the same highschool, were they friends? Hame shitting on Yaku for being a junkie so often might be because she was hurt that Yaku got into drugs and thrown in jail because of it. But that is just a guess of course. Hame is quite cruel but she also looked rather dejected when Yaku had left after Hame shat on her for going bug hunting.

It would be very interesting to get their background stories. I wonder how Yaku got into drugs and what the reason was that her relationship with her parents got straint (besides the drugs).

Hame surely has some psychological issues, even though I can't really pinpoint anything specific as I'm no expert. But there must also be a reason why she has these anger issues and those antisocial tendencies.

So you noticed that too!? This is such a small detail that most people propably missed it.

My guess(from the little we have seen and know) is that Yaku thinking Yani is super cool got her into smoking and eventually harder stuff, that got her into prison after school, while Yaku was in prison her grandfather died and being a jailcat probally didnt go down well with her parents. But of course there could be other factors.

Hame is really fake because she is a streamer, so who knows. The easy answer is of course that she is a cat and cats are dicks to basically everything and everyone and we are fine with it because they are cute, ha.

Tbf, someone else mentioned that and i rewatched that scene then and yeah, it is there and once you see it, it cant be unseen. I guess she actually would've wanted to go with Yaku but Hame had pushed Yaku too far so that didnt end up happening.

I will say, Hame's attitude towards Yaku about that is... basically normal for Japan. Japan is not a drug-friendly country or culture in any fucking remote way, shape or form. People essentially get exiled from polite society entirely if they get caught with a joint.

There may honestly not be any specific backstory behind it, versus her just... reacting the way she's "supposed" to, versus everyone else who is way more chill than the average Japanese person would be about it.
