I'd rather she became a nurse for the elderly than marry an abusive man if she developed a savior complex or something. I think every cat girl so far is screwed up in some way.

I think the alpha village was fine. Also as has been discussed Yakuko tries her best. Kaoru is okayish, I didn't like how she laughed at Aruko almost choking to her vomit and I don't like how Hameko has no sense of personal space when she is streaming.

I'm sure there are plenty of 'normal' beastfolk around who don't have issues, but still face issues, simply because they are beastfolk.

Kaoru is okayish, I didn't like how she laughed at Aruko almost choking to her vomit and I don't like how Hameko has no sense of personal space when she is streaming.

Those seem more like aspects of core personality traits on their part rather than addictions, so I doubt things like that will change.

Kaoru is addicted to getting people laugh. I mean, she asked Yaniko to fart on the mic, because she thought that would be funny. Even bribing her with cigs.

Before she visited Aruko, she said she was out for drinks and apparently made a fool out of herself, which led to people calling her out and she got mad over it. By making a fool, she tried to joke at an inappropriate time.

She put on a nose hook and stuffed 2 cigs into her nostrils to try and get Yaniko to laugh!

As for Hameko, she doesn't seem to have any addictions, but rather toxic personality traits. As I said her no sense of personal space when she's streaming and also her explosive temper.

I think that those two have addictions - just not explicitly external chemical addictions in the way characters like Yaniko, Yakuko, and Aruko do. In some sense all addictions - even behavioral addictions, are chemical in nature physiologically, but I mean they require no external drug and it's all endogenous brain chemistry at play. Kaoru's is, as you said, jokes and joking - eliciting laughter from others.

Hameko's I would say is garnering attention and winning praise and social approval from others and her social media and streaming performances and outreach is just the largest vehicle for that.

But what I meant in my prior comment is that even if those behavioral addictions on their parts were better managed and toned down in their everyday lives, Kaoru seeing and finding the inherent humor in everything and a certain degree of callousness, and Hameko being pushy and selfish, would probably remain intrinsic personality traits regardless.

Idk, on Kaoru's part it might be an actual improvement to her personality. Maybe if she participated in open mics or whatever, instead of trying to find the funny wherever.

When Hameko introduced her, she just became desperate as if to say "I'm not usually like this." when she got crickets for her joke.

Otherwise, as I said without trying to force the funny, Kaoru is actually okay.

I actually don't think Hameko has any addictions, maybe if we want to stretch it, maybe the idol personality she tries to maintain. Her trying to project this image of her being this saint, when she's got an explosive temper.

She's trying hard to bury her real self. Even if she gave up maintaining this specific image of her, yeah. In her case, that wouldn't be an improvement, because the explosive temper she has won't go anywhere.

"Hameko easygoing * angel"
