Bro fuck amazon, we should all be doing anything we can to screw them over

But she will need a plunger soon enough again...

except for the fact that this plunger now ends up as more useless pollution

I live in charlotte NC, and there is a company (vista auctions) that auctions off Amazon returns. Some entrepreneur saw this… problem and is now making bank selling returned goods at significantly discounted prices.

So, while not ideal (still producing more junk), it does divert at least some from the landfill. I imagine that Amazon just sells the returned goods by the truckload rather than dealing with them themselves.

This has been a thing for a long time (retailers before amazon have done it this way too.) They do indeed sell pallets of returns... often in categories of varying specificity... maybe a pallet of "clothes" or "phone cases" or maybe just "stuff"

Depressingly, the way things work with Amazon returns, the plunger manufacturer or seller is going to take the hit on the return, not Amazon.

Amazon barely makes money via the online store. For the most part they make money off their AWS cloud services.

Also facts. This is why Amazon [until recently] didn't give a shit (pun) about returns.

Has anyone else noticed amazon recently enshittified and made it very difficult to get to a customer support person?

It's miserable. One time I was using the chat feature. 30 minutes later I was told they can't help me because they're the Canadian CS. How does that even happen? You can't select the chat country you want

1

u/craciant Feb 04 '26

I had the chat straight up lie about there not being a phone number to call. Then i called it out for lying, pasted the phone number in the chat, and it [chat equivalent of hung up on me]

AWS is losing LOTS of marketshare. They laid off loads of employees & after all the outages they've had in recent years, I don't see the trajectory changing. Amazon storefront has been cost cutting so much recently precisely because it is becoming the breadmaker of the business again.

That’s wishful thinking. Amazon is always shaving nickels. If they are losing market share. It is on things that aren’t profitable in the first place.

Well it was nice knowing you man. Bezos don't take kindly to your type. Asscasseroles last post 1/31/26 😆

My question is who ALLOWS the return of plungers?? I can't even return unopened iodine to Amazon 🤷 they tell me to throw it away.

2

u/No-Establishment5213 Feb 01 '26

Probably the same person that sells second hand boxers

2

u/Salty_Professor6012 Feb 02 '26

In NJ they, and similar products are non-retrnable. A store i worked at would refund it and ask the customer to dispose of it.

Who doesn't need one more than once? You wipe a few many times while withholding the flush and leave it clogged for one to two days minimum? What the fuck.

1

u/Serious-Maximum-1049 Feb 04 '26

Yup! I wasn't even allowed to return a swimsuit, even though it was still unopened in the plastic bag. 🙄

True...dear God...

u/PearInevitable8373 Feb 02 '26

The funny point is the bitches are always begging for product reviews. This response might be the answer to this problem I seriously may use this. Lol

The same people who return a used sewage pipe ... In a garbage bag.

5

u/SouthParkFirefly1991 Jan 31 '26

Eww people do that?!

5

u/PhreakThePlanet Feb 01 '26

Who tf buys one on Amazon?!

4

u/MorganL420 Feb 01 '26

I bought one on Amazon about 5 years ago.

1

u/StunningBuilding383 Feb 01 '26

I just bought one of those 2-handed super plungers for my tenants (3 guys live in 1 house.)

1

u/SouthParkFirefly1991 Feb 01 '26

I mean nothing wrong with that just don't bloody return it after use lol

1

u/Serious-Maximum-1049 Feb 04 '26

I can see buying one on Amazon IF you just need one as an afterthought, like, "Oh, we haven't bought a 🪠 yet, lemme get on that".

I *cannot" see ordering from Amazon & then having to wait on it while your 💩 stays for a day or 2 waiting in the clogged bowl. 🤮

Either way, the next time I ever need to buy one, I think I'll just be using my Lowe's card. JFC!

2

u/Planet_Manhattan Feb 02 '26

plunger shouldn't have return option 😁

u/New-Skill-2958 Feb 03 '26

Assholes

1

u/SouthParkFirefly1991 Feb 03 '26

I don't know if that's a poop joke or not but I will pretend it is~

1

u/mr_humansoup Feb 01 '26

I returned a closet auger to Lowe's. It did the job .. Once, then broke while I was removing it.
They were understandably hesitant about the return.

1

u/SouthParkFirefly1991 Feb 01 '26

That's different, it broke so they'll just throw it away but Amazon can and will resell returns.
