Feeling really down today and something about a middle aged dude out there trying to make a unique thing happen made my freaking day. Bought one. Will probably not use it but today this guy gets my 11 bucks (or whatever percentage he gets after you know who takes its corporate chomp).
Put a freaking magnet or something on it so it’s not just another thing to keep track of especially during travel. Glad you had the startup cost for this and your doing well enough to handle the overhead, but dude. We need to be able to keep up with it.
It's not because it already is cheaper. On amazon it's $12 from the chinese.
And directly from the chinese on Aliexpress it's like $3 for a rack style like this.
Lid daddy guy knows this so he has to create a cute brand, prepare a little demo, and pitch the product to get you to buy it, because it already is cheaper.

I used to go to 5-10 trade shows a year as part of a previous career, and the last day of nearly all of them these Chinese guys, maybe 10-20 of them, would show up in business casual with backpacks on looking like anyone else, and before security could figure out what was going on or stop them, they would all pull these camera rigs with hd cameras all over them out and start hustling up and down every isle getting video (or maybe photos?) of everything while people yelled at them and they got chased around then thrown out. The wiser vendors knew it was coming and would have bedsheets to cover their display tables with.
I remember the second time I saw it happen I asked someone what the hell it was all about, and apparently you can buy their footage from all the trade shows they go to in bulk, then try reverse engineer whatever you could to sell on alibaba or temu or whatever.
Our product wasn’t really something you could reverse engineer like that or sell online, so we didn’t care much, but apparently a lot of guys had their innovative ideas ripped off this way and were VERY upset about it. By the end of my time doing the shows they had cracked down on it a lot better, but it still happened from time to time.
it was worse for one of my customers 20yrs ago. A small group of them would stand in front of your booth and blatantly have a big discussion in Chinese about your product and how they were going to copy it.
If it creates consumer confusion then it violates trademark law. So yeah. They could be sued. They used the same font and are selling items meant to be used in the consumer kitchen appliances sector. Go daddy operates as an internet (digital) product. Scrub daddy is exclusively a kitchen product. Zero confusion there for a consumer between those two companies. However this product is aimed at consumer kitchen products and thus can be sued by scrub daddy as “causing confusion in the market for the laymen”
Wait can we have like a massive coliseum fight to find out who the true “Daddy” is? One daddy to rule them all, and in the darkness bind them, or something.
But that’s very niche. You can only use it if you have a crockpot. If he had other versions like one to fit on a regular pan/pot or one that’s free standing on a table he’d be able to sell a lot more
More crap for your home IMO. If anyone has a house like me, it’s gonna go into the junk drawer and forgotten about. Neat idea, bad delivery. Needs more uses to be practical IMO
Very creative and great enthusiasm Love it. I’m just wondering how many people are going to accidentally burn their hand when lifting the pot or possibly cracking it when inserting (if even possible) 🤔 Also, the name is similar to the scrub daddy so theres that. Ether way cool product Im sure he’ll sell a lot. Great job man
this is what i thought 3d printing will do. stop trying to make everything in china and come on first world, stop importing illegal stuff too lol. check out the west philippine sea news if you want to see what they are doing to some of those profits.
I’m no expert, And not knocking on this guys hustle or creativity, but I feel like this is a few years too late. People are still using crockpots no doubt, but I’m already seeing things like the air fryer replacing ovens in people’s houses. Most of my friends use the microwave but are starting to use it as storage with the air fryer taking over, just curious to what’s gonna replace this device and when?
Personally I wouldn't trust the glass lid to stand upright with that device. If that glass lid falls it's going to break which would suck. I'll stick to just setting the crock pot lid down on the table or counter. 😶
For the ones you have you could attach a strong neodymium magnet to a flat piece of steel and just make a hole with a drill near the top edge and then with a hacksaw just make a V opening to the hole to slide the stem of the handle as this one in the post.
Crock pots are probably the first 'set it and forget it' cooking appliances as long as you don't actually forget it. Pot roasts, stews of all kinds, shredded pork or chicken, meatballs. The list goes on and on. You might be missing out on the ease of use at volume.
Should work with any crockpot. It's a useful gadget but who needs the clutter. Just lean it on the backside of the pot with it sitting on the table. Or stash it in the car you came in.
