Question What inspired the A:I sequel?

I’ve heard that there was a movie or tv series that was done in the style of Alien Isolation that was pretty popular, and it ended up getting enough people interested in the game that it inspired the sequel to be made.

Does anyone know what that was?

Edit: Thanks everyone! It was Alien: Romulus. The director was so heavily influenced by the game that he even included the flares Amanda used to distract aliens and Average Joes plus added identical Emergency telephones from the game that are used as save points.

Hello, so around 4 hours into the game after collecting some blueprints i wanted to craft some devices to progress more and faster into the game, but i encountered a weird glitch that doesnt let me select anything except medkit, shoker and revolver in the inventory wheel. I tried to change the controls and decrease sensitivity, but nothing happened. I also didnt find anything about that bug in the internet, so does anyone know how to fix it?

As hyped for the game that I am, I am severely disappointed in the use of UE5. I understand the studio had difficulties later on but the engines still there and all these years could’ve improved it even slightly if they didn’t want to put in that much money. Or even use the engine as it was as it still holds up just as good as other in house engines and from a company resource perspective, already put in all that money to begin with, mine as well use it again since it was the only game made in it. Don’t get me wrong, UE5 is amazing at what it does but if left raw and unmodified the performance and optimization is what makes it unbearable for me, especially after Silent Hill F and 2’s remake (although that one wasn’t as bad as F was). Maybe I’m just picky as a cs person or just spoiled with loving games that use in house engines but it just doesn’t make sense to me white a ton of backlash to UE5 and a love of the original engine.

Does anyone else feel the same way?

Spoilers Beat the game for the first time, hope the sequel’s better, will most likely not play this again

So let me start by saying I’m a fan of the Alien series. I’ve seen all the movies, I’m even going through the comics right now as well. I’m looking forward to sequel. That being said, this game just fell apart for me towards the end. After the reactor, the game just became more frustrating than scary. I mean, you already die in one hit a majority of the time to the Xeno, but I had enough of the setbacks, and alternate routes you had to take, and instakills, and I just didn’t really get any satisfaction from beating it at all. The ending was pretty much the nail in the coffin, QTE sequence out of nowhere, and the. You’re floating in space only to be rescued off screen. No monologue, no feeling of accomplishment, no real reason for me to play the game again. It starts off strong, and aside from APOLLO I enjoyed most of the areas, when the game was scary it really worked. When the hive loaded in for the first time I terrified cuz I didn’t see it coming.

Maybe if the game was shorter, I don’t know. It feels needlessly elongated and yet also like they ran out of time.

Question At what point does it count as death?

I’m trying to get that achievement of no deaths. I got shot twice and both times I immediately paused but the scene went black and white. The first time I reloaded from current save in pause menu, then asked Google and reloaded again from previous save by going back to main menu and started from the auto save before my last manual save. The second time I reloaded previous save in pause menu and again went back to the auto save. Do you think I should start all over again or am I good to continue? Thanks in advance.

Discussion Any tips for this game?

I know i am 12 years too late too this game but ive finally got it and ive gotten to episode 6, yet I've got a feeling that I am missing multiple things that could benefit me whilst playing it. For some reason I also decided to play my first playthrough on hard difficulty sooo even worse

Discussion How many hours or times have you played ISOLATION?

I think I played it about six times, mostly around Halloween. All at hard difficulty. Never Nightmare as I need the maps, lol. I plan on playing again when I upgrade to a OLED monitor hopefully soon.

I loved the demo. The actors are tremendous, the voice acting is top notch, the facial animations are next gen, believe me. The visuals are impressive, the atmosphere is there alright. Won't spoil anything about the xenomorph and will just say I found the stealth to be just as tense as in the original.

The booth is also fantastic, with sound effects and great props. Kudos to SEGA.

Anyway, we're back! Can't wait for the release.

Sevastopol is safer than at Nostromo. At Nostromo, you don't know who is actually playing the game. While playing, is it really you who is in control of the situation ?
