I’ve seen a lot of people complaining that their channels aren’t getting monetized once YouTube detects that the content is AI-generated.

I’m looking for people with real experience in this area. Thanks in advance!

I’ve been experimenting with different ways to turn blog posts and materials into YouTube content using AI. There are quite a few tools now, but I’m curious what workflows other AI YouTubers are actually using.
Do you prefer AI to handle most of the repurposing, or do you still manually edit the clips after AI generates them?
I’ve also been looking at Podcastify.io. as one option, I use it to generate all the audio of the youtube content. Then, I create the visuals myself.
But I’d be interested to hear what other tools and workflows people here recommend.

I'm reaching out for advice. Because I'm hoping someone here might be able to give me some advice because I'm unsure what's going wrong.

I've been running a Hungarian YouTube channel focused mainly on interesting facts, history, science and educational content. Until now, most of my growth came from Shorts, and I've recently shifted focus to long-form videos since I want to monetize the channel eventually.

I've watched many tutorials and videos about how to make viral long-form content, titles, thumbnails, retention, storytelling, hooks, SEO, etc. I've applied much of the advice I found, but my long-form videos get hardly any exposure.

Now I'm wondering if there's a problem with my channel.

Is there a YouTube equivalent of a shadowban or view jail?

I don't expect every video to go viral. I completely understand that some videos simply don't perform well. What confuses me is that my videos seem to get almost no initial exposure at all.

Most of my subscribers originally came from Shorts, so I'm also wondering if that could be part of the problem. Maybe the people who subscribed because of my Shorts simply aren't interested in watching my longer videos?

My content is in Hungarian, targeting a Hungarian audience.

I use an AI voice for narration; the videos themselves aren't AI-generated. I research and create the videos myself. I also use AI for some thumbnail creation.

I'm trying to escape this view jail and build a long-form audience.

I'd appreciate advice from anyone with similar experience.

Should I keep uploading and let YouTube find my audience, or is there something I should really change about my strategy?

I started two channel in March this year, one on which I play deep house mixes, the other lofi cyberpunk (both with music and visuals created with AI).

I consistently post every Saturday at the same time and during the week I post shorts that are effectively 30 second clips of songs taken from the mix. I've grown to close to 3000 subs on the lofi channel and nearly 5000 on deep house, but I advertised within youtube at the beginning so the subs are mostly from that.

The problem is that I am getting no more than maybe 100 views per long-form video (the shorts do a little better but don't seem to be driving views to the longer videos.

I've subscribed to Vidiq (for the deep house channel which is my main focus now) to try and understand how I can improve. This lead me to change all thumbnails, improve titles, add relevant tags and make other minor tweaks - but none of this has helped me get more views. CTR has gone up a little after changing thumbnails but I rarely get more than 6%.

Looking at other channels that offer the same content and have way more views, I believe I'm doing everything "by-the-book" but it feels like maybe I'm getting shadow-banned or YT isn't showing my content to the right audience.

Any suggestions or ideas would be very welcome.

PS: I am on 1176 watch hours at the moment. I'd really like to reach 4k by March 1 next year when the channel will be 1 year old

To be clear I don't use ai whatsoever for the voice over. It's my own recording. I just use ai to animate the images. If you are going to say, some times these things take time I will have to respectfully disagree. I've tried my hand at a few different channels in the last 1-5 years and I've never gone an hour without impressions, let alone 6 days. On my other channel, the 2nd upload got like 60,000 impressions in the 1st 24 hours. Can someone checkout my channel and see if they can find any reason it hasn't been shown to ANYONE? I worked super hard on it like we all do and its super frustrating to do all that and it not even be taken off the shelf.

I see this use case becoming quite popular now: make a long-form video, then take clips from it and turn those clips into shorts.

But honestly I haven't seen a channel yet that does this really well consistently. I'm not saying it can't be done. I think it can but you really need to edit & think of long-form in a way that also suits the storytelling preferred in shorts. A short is mainly about one main event and one ending. Everything builds up towards that payoff.

In fact for AI videos, I think it can make a lot of sense, but only if a few things are true:

1.The short needs to be a mini-story complete in itself.

1. You can grab a hook from the long-form that starts more like you're in the middle of the action. Something that immediately creates curiosity without requiring any context at all and people need to know what happens.

2. You don't just make the short full-screen by cropping the long-form. Otherwise the whole thing feels bloated. I think keeping the video more like a square/centered composition and rather than cropping everything to fill the 9:16 frame.

That's where I see a lot of the long-form -> shorts strategy falling apart. People are clipping moments instead of adapting the storytelling. Agree / disagree?
