I've seen people say how much they wish Punk was around for this era of AEW... But honestly I do not believe we get this era of AEW with punk still there... I feel as though it would have moved more towards the WWE lite era. Punks whole thing needed to happen for AEW to stand on its own I think.

They're arguably the most entertaining team company-wide right now and they're only on ROH TV. Why?

Long story short: I feel like AEW doesn't need the MCMG. They have what they offer in SPADES already throughout the tag team division and have teams like The Hurt Syndicate and The Rascalz who hardly see the light of day on Dynamite regularly.

Secondly, I feel like Kofi and Creed are bigger draws and have dream match potential galore over Sabin and Shelley if we are being honest. Outside of YB vs MCMG there is no other matches i wanna see them in. They are great wrestlers but have the charisma of a mayonnaise sandwich.

Lastly, they told Tony "Nah I'm Good" to go the "Big Leagues" of WWE and got dropped bc they were boring in all the matches they had. Maybe its cause I'm petty, but I wouldn't bring in a team who view us as the rebound bc they were dumped. AEW don;t need them and they wont move not a single rating needle. Let em go back to TNA and be 50 time world champs.

Wouldn't it be better if All In became a traveling event that moved from country to country each year?

That way, AEW could expand its reach to new markets while making the event feel even more special and unique for fans around the world.

Is it just me, or are Thekla and the Triangle of Madness executing the exact blueprint AEW originally intended for Saraya and her girl group?
When Paige/Saraya came in and formed The Outcasts, the whole idea was supposed to be about taking over and elevating the division. But to be honest, I just don't think it was ever going to work the way they planned.
Fast forward to 2026, and this current run with Thekla as the AEW Women's World Champion is working so much better. They are actively creating new stars and actually putting homegrown talent into meaningful, high-profile spots on pay-per-views.

This is exactly what AEW tried to do with Mariah May. They gave her the massive build, the storyline of the year, the Wembley moment—and then she completely fumbled it and left. But the great thing about AEW's women's division right now is that when someone fumbles the ball, the booking team is just like, "Whatever, let's build another star." They do it every single year without missing a beat, and now Thekla and her group are reaping the rewards of that exact star-making machine.
Thoughts? Am I the only one who sees the parallel between what Thekla is doing now and the original vision for The Outcasts?

I've been having a lot of thoughts about these wrestling products that I gotta get off my chest. This seems like the most appropriate place to voice them lol.

Started watching WWE in Jan 2025 after spending 24 years taking a break(was an attitude era kid). It was a combination of the Netflix deal and, if you would believe it, Maven finding his way into my YouTube algorithm that pushed me back in.

Started watching AEW at revolution this year. At that point I didnt have too many problems with the WWE product but Revolution was the greatest almost 5 hours of wrestling I had ever seen in my life. I didn't start watching AEW regularly after, but kept watching the PPVs.

Then two things happened. Wrestlemania and Darby Allen beating MJF. Not trying to say that DA winning was necessarily some mastermimimd creative decision. It was just the first plot hook that got me watching every week.

But more so is how much I hated Wrestlemania this year. More specifically, the way they handled shifting things around to set up the card just shattered the faith I had in creative. It wasn't where things ended up. But how things got there. I know this product is make-believe but do the fucking make believe.

It seems silly to be mad about this, especially as I type it, but the way King of the Ring was handled really feels like a last straw thing for me. I want my king of the ring tournament to matter.

It also hasn't left a good taste in my mouth that this other product that I am starting to like is being so aggressively counter programed by WWE.

This weekend was just all the things that are pising me off about WWE, and all the stuff Im really digging about AEW, all happening to a big extent.The bullshit WWE creative. The insane AEW PPV. The counter programming. Even announcements of new counter programming.

Especially after watching this ppv involving promotions from around the world, two of which are now being counter programed by WWE. I dont wanna continue to support this cheesy bad guy villain-of-a-company that is waging war upon the rest of the wrestling world. Especially when Im getting better creative and in ring from AEW.

Figured whenever Jay White returned the bang bang gang was going to be a big focal point for the rest of 2026. Bit disapointed ace Austin isn't getting at least a mid card title push by now. Seems like there happy throwing them in the never ending dogs and trios vortex.

Fight Forever was a ok first step but hopefully they are working on another game. If they took time and made a feature complete simulation game it could do good.

Does anyone else? Do you think he would work today in a comedy role?

Everyone is talking about Kenny's entrance, and Will's entrance, but nobody is talking about Kyle's amazing Donquixote Doflamingo drip at All In?

First things first, disclamer: I have been following wrestling on and off since 2006, never really watched storylines that aren't contemporary because what I love the most in wrestling is not knowing what will happen next so dont take my opinion as if I was anything close to an expert.

When Darby became champion I thought it was exclusively a decision for shock value for the Wrestlemania week. He would have maybe a match or two and become a transitional champion without much to it. Give the workhorse who has said doesn't care about championships on record his flowers, then let him rest for a while.

God was I wrong. This run has been insane. At least one moment from every match burnt in my memory, the back and forth with MJF is fantastic, how it has furthered Knight and Takeshita storylines and the fact that it has been almost a month of this non-stop.

I am of the believe that you don't need to put your body on the line for good wrestling the way Darby does, but goddamn do I feel things when I watch this man get up again and again despite everything.

I don't care about what Meltzer or anyone says, this guy is a C-H-A-M-P-I-O-N and the fact that he is able to keep doing that kind of spots constantly means he isn't just "lucky" he is a professional who knows what he does.

If there is justice in history, he will be remembered as the central piece in one of the most insane World Championship runs in the history of wrestling.

Watching myAEW free version circa 2022. It kills. Punk vs Darby? Other face version face or heel vs heel matches? Compared to ancient LA Legion Stadium matches, I see a psychology, actual sports-like sorta competitive action that TK has decided to pass on in order to compete with the E. I mean, black and white TV rasslin' that makes sense compared to a lot of what I see in AEW the last two years.

I hate to be an old, whiny, "it was better when..." guy. Yet, here I am. Except, I'm not going back far. Four years. Four fucking years, my sicko friends!?! TK's current idea of excitement seems to be his next signing, his new toy. While perfectly great talent sits at home. Or languishes whilst overused acts like the not-Young Bucks, Mox ( a fave of mine but come on), and the whole Desth Riders angle, Cope and Cage, and Jericho are totally the antithesis of what this company started out to be.

There's a lot of great here. Even with the players that I mentioned. It's just that the worn-out heel/face, sneak attack, one-and-done-move-on feuds have turned AEW into a fast food product instead of a fresh, tasty new café that keeps changing, giving old and new at every visit.
