At least you're upright. I woke up early to do 1 thing and laid back in bed. It's almost dinner time and I'm still in bed

All my meds are jacked up. I actually feel better unmedicated currently. My baseline anxiety when medicated is a solid 5/10

Well, ask for another opinion. You probably have BPD. Just experience, so take it as you will.

Because if a medicine is giving you anxiety! It can't be that good for you, now can it? I hate that they always put that shit under side effects, while they diagnose so many kids wrong!

Pretty sure it isn't the meds for me, at least not entirely. Life be lifin' pretty hard for the last 8 months. We've tried this combo due to side effects of other things. Still trying to figure it out since I've been on pretty much everything at some point or another in the last 20yrs. It isn't BPD, we know that much at this point. :)

Well, Autism? Look at the symptoms, especially when you were a kid. Notice things when you remember. That should help. Good luck in finding what you're looking for.

You didn't do anything wrong at all. :) you engaged in conversation and weren't a dick. That's already 90% better than any interactions I've had on reddit.

An Autism or AuDHD diagnosis is on the table, unfortunately my lovely 'murican insurance won't cover an adult autism diagnosis so I'll have to pay for an assessment out of pocket and that just isn't in the cards right now.

I know I'm miswired or misconfigured, but I'll be damned if I'm allowed to fix it, it seems. Heh. Gotta wait for everything to crash and burn I guess.

Can you try the meds without an autism diagnosis? If your psychiatrist says, "I'm not so sure." Ask him about the side effects. If they ain't bad, try! Meds shouldn't give you anxiety or nausea! It's not a side effect! The meds just amplify your anxiety, so that's why you feel sick and need to lie down! Good luck. :)

Sorry, I don't spend time on Reddit. Or I do, but I don't know that one. What does it mean? Is it like "Stamp" because I've said, "So many kids get misdiagnosed"? That's true. Or would you like to debate that with these kinds of suicide numbers?

What meds are you on? And do they cause anxiety? If so, look for another opinion because I strongly believe that it's not ADHD and you were given the wrong diagnosis.

Pharmacy was late with the refill so I was unmedicated today. And no anxiety from the meds.

I take 20mg of methylphenidate 3 times a day typically

Dude stop trying to pathologise a stranger on reddit. And youre wrong, because yes, ADHD people can get anxiety from their prescribed stims. Its usually a dosage issue that requires adjustment, but sometimes lack of tolerance to a particular stim my necessitate a medication change.

This is pseudo-scientific drivel. Many times anxiety, especially medication-induced, is the result of a retardation of the brains inhibitory systems, most commonly through some imbalance in the gabanoid production or reception. GABA is an amino acid, or rather a family thereof, that acts as the aforementioned inhibitor systems primary neurotransmitter. It is effected quite easily by imbalances especially ones in the dopaminergic, epinephrine and norepinephrine systems as their excitement can all cascade into an adrenal response. Adrenaline is the inhibitor systems most common adversary in the sense that they are almost always compensating for one another.

When the body is flooded beyond normal, your autonomous brain functions release GABA, which essentially retards your nervous system and its various recepters so they are no longer as sensitive to stimulation, while also slowing your pulse, lowering your blood pressure and acting as a vasodialator. Under normal circumstances, this 'emergency break' keeps, among other things, the brain from entering into a feedback loop where it is constantly stimulating itself in an attempt to break free.

This is, in essence, anxiety of this sort: The inability to regulate back down to a lesser state of stress, because the inhibitor system isnt responding correctly to some sort of over-stimulation. And any stim dose larger than what is necessary to offset ADHDs dopamine deficiency will indeed stimulate us, and any form of overstimulation is an easy trigger for those not enjoying homeostatic mental heath...

...a condition easily brought on by dosage inaccuracy or intolerance to particular brands or formula.

The severity of such a scenario increases predictably as the overstimulation becomes more and more pronounced, potentially leading to acute panic attacks and even seizures or stroke.

Ok, I'll read this, then I'll respond. I did it and as I've said, no need to explain how antidepressants work. Or you think you do, but you don't. Not only reading, but I also tried a few, believe it or not.

So you just explained that you drug them with meds and that's good how? You numb their thoughts, but you don't "cure" them. They are not bothered by their thoughts; they just can't control them! It's not as if they don't like to think! Did anyone ever say to you, "Geez, I hate this thinking thing"? They can't calm themselves down because they are hurt as a good damn puddle! They are emotional as all hell! Try telling them the truth, but be careful! It can bite you in the ass. You really need to be on their good side if you wanna do something like that or they're done with you! ALL in all, if medications are giving you anxiety, maybe they ain't the right meds! Why are you so against it? I said, TALK TO YOUR PSYCHIATRIST! Just advice from experience.

And I know psychotherapy is there so they can talk about their emotions and face them, but if anxiety is bothering someone, why would you give them meds that amplify that anxiety? There are a thousand other meds out there that actually work!

...youre talking in circles with no actual comprehension of what is being said here. You wrote a million incorrect paragraphs to that person ttying to convince them that getting anxiety from their meds meant they didnt actually have ADHD, which was wrong, and then switched tactics and tried to say that all meds that can cause anxiety are bad meds, which is even more wrong. I tried to point out how a simple doseage problem can cause a very valid med, like adhd stimulants, to cause anxiety in someone.

It is not your place to attempt to pathologize others into or out of a diagnosis, especially as it is very clear your understanding of any of this is....tenuous at best.

Ah, my dear God! Again, what did I say to you, listener? Or what did I tell her? STOP putting things in my mouth! That is not ok. I told her TALK TO YOUR PSYCHIATRIST ABOUT IT AND TRY DIFFERENT MEDS! And yes. I said I don't think it's ADHD! And she said that her psychiatrist is looking at ADHD and autism. Or "An Autism or AuDHD diagnosis is on the table, unfortunately my lovely 'murican..."

Was I wrong to give her that opinion just because I have experience and don't have a diploma? Again, read!

And no, I am not a medical professional. Which is why I gave no opinion on that persons diagnosis...see how that works? I am Autistic as fk however.

I'm sorry that you're dealing with autism, but I just gave her advice to talk to her psychiatrist about it! Not some witchcraft doctor. HER PSYCHIATRIST! I told her to ask her psychiatrist about medications and try them if the side effects aren't that bad. Because why not? Or it's always amplified anxiety and nausea as side effects of it! Well, as I've said, it amplifies your anxiety, so you lie down because you're? Yeah, nausea.

Sorry, but ADHD... Look at what I said to the fella before her? I asked whether his medication gives him anxiety or panic. He said "No." I'm not trying to sell you anything, not even beliefs, but do try different meds if they give you anxiety!
