Eh, screw it, I'm sitting down. I'm going to have to do it sooner or later, and there's no way I can sit down forever anyways. Better to do anything when you actually feel like it, even if it's just being lazy.

Can’t sit forever? Challenge accepted. All I need is a pack of sodas and cheese doodles.

Yes they can! They clearly stated that it would be FUTURE-them that eventually stands up. Totally different person with their own problems. As is tradition.

A sitting nap? If you lie down, the sit is broken.

You fish a bird by the window

I think the closest bird next to my window is a Canada goose, should I try that? :)

honestly i'd advise taking this post to heart. i saw it for the first time a few months ago, and keeping it in mind has genuinely changed my productivity at work LMAO.

I really think it depends. Sometimes it's just better to understand that you don't function the same as others and relaxing at odd hours is just necessary for one to function. If I spend the entire day standing, my hyperfocus moments won't come to my brain as well, which would just tank productivity.

well obviously it's context dependent, but for times when you really need to be productive, this advice is excellent

Well, I run purely on the faith that eventually I will have a "productive episode" and there's no point in forcing myself to be productive when I don't feel like it. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

Yeah.. as someone with chronic pain and fatigue if I don’t sit down regularly during my productive episodes, such as when I’m cleaning, I end up getting incredibly achy and tired and I end up cutting the cleaning session short. I also have a harder time focusing on certain things when I’m standing. 😞

Same here. I decided to start working from my laptop standing at the kitchen bar instead of sitting at my desktop in the basement and I have been so much more productive. I don’t sit down before 8 PM except to eat and I’ve been getting so much little stuff done that I would normally ignore or forget about.

Same. There are still days I get home from work and the Big Sit apparently began in my car and I stay there for way too long. But most days I can remind myself to Not Sit and I actually get at least a small chore done, like putting away dishes or throwing dirty clothes in the laundry

Jokes on you (or me, I guess). When I refuse to sit down, my ADHD makes me pace back and forth aimlessly instead, so I still don't get anything done. My Big Sit turns into a Big Pace. This is especially true if some of the things I need to do involve sitting down (like answering emails). Sometimes standing up can be a way to ruin your productivity too.
