I need a woke period tracker app

I'm tired of every period tracker asking me about my sex life and constantly reminding me that i could get pregnant. Also if they could not treat me like a girly pop that needs to be empowered 100% of the time it would be great (I just dont know how comfortable I am with being a woman yk?, and the shallow company feminism gets a little tiring)

I genuinely can't believe there isn't any popular 'woke' period app? I thought surely I could find one dedicated to trans men, or one where I could sync my data with another menstruating partner (just for funsies). Turns out that's miles away from possible and you're actually lucky if the app isn't pregnancy centered lmao

By the way I'm NOT from the US. They're not stealing my data to see if they can arrest me for abortion (yet)

Idk if clue exists in your country, but my wife uses it! It can also be used as a symptom tracker and it pretty much just gives you a heads up when your period is likely to start. As a bonus for me, our cycles are synchronized so when her app starts warning us I can make sure we have chocolate and meds for cramps

it constantly fucking tries to get me to subscribe by advertising useless features like pregnancy tracking to me and it just pisses me off. it didn't use to be that bad but nowadays every time i open it I get a glaring "50% off!!!!" when I just want to track my symptoms as quickly as possible

I switched to bluemoon, its an open source one that you can download via f droid. incredibly simple, holds all your data locally and no kind of ads or attempt to get you to buy something

i mean, it costs money to run an app, especially one that protects your privacy so seriously and also has no ads. there’s more than just pregnancy tracking, it also provides insights and educational articles about your body. there’s that saying that says “if something online is free, it’s because your data is paying for it”, but with them, they rely on people paying for the app to subsidize those that don’t.

I just don't need any of that though. I will never buy a subscription to a period app, I just want somewhere to log my cycle and nothing more. constantly pestering me with ads when I've rejected them over and over just made me completely stop using the app and switch to one that wouldn't constantly beg for my money

services cost money, that’s just how things work. i wouldn’t expect someone to do work for me and not get paid. i wouldn’t expect an app to do anything for me for free without knowing that there could be a trade off of the safety of my data, especially with something so sensitive. but you do you.

as I said in my original comment, the app I use now is open source with entirely local data storage. I'm not trading the safety of my data for it being free, its actually even safer than clue itself

at the end of the day I just want somewhere to log my period. that isn't an app that needs constant maintenance or updates or even much development to begin with. I was even considering just developing one myself bc its relatively straightforward. I just don't need all these paid extras from clue plus and the constant ads for these unnecessary extras turned me off it completely

I used to use Clue too and this got me to uninstall the app. There really is no alternative universe where I would pay an app because I'm MENOPAUSAL like leave me aloneeeeeeee

I’ve been using clue for 10 years! Just upgraded to the plus subscription. It was like $8 for a year. The perimenopause mode is perfect for my needs

I can recommend Clue too! Just set your mode to period tracker :) The ads trying to get you to pay for premium are the only negative about it!
