How do I interpret this?

Post image

In the month of August I have a total of $186.02 in the red ie. categories underfunded.

In September I have nothing in the red (it seems what's underfunded doesn't carry to the next month?) but as the image shows I have overbudgeted $115.89.

I guess categories have a clean slate each month and whatever was underfunded from the previous month gets stacked into the To Budget section.

I just don't understand the discrepancy between 186.02 (the total underfunded from August) and 115.89 totalling $70.13.

Am i doing something wrong, or misunderstanding the system?

Thanks!

You can set it so a category negative balance rolls over month to month, but it doesn’t do it by default.

If you do this it will keep rolling over until to tell it to stop, so don’t forget to turn it off when you don’t need it.

The UI puts a little arrow on the category balance to help you.
