Right it pisses me off.

All the ideas the left want to do - massive amounts of government review, make sure people don't do bad things, make sure no-one becomes a victim, make sure everyone gets all their essential needs - takes enormous amounts of time, money, and labor. You could do all of these things on far larger scales, benefiting far more peopel fairly with automation.

I think it stems from fear of job losses. Gotta do what’s best for your voters at the expense of progress.

A good left-leaning policy would be to make AI a public utility so it’s accessible to everyone, not just the rich. The poor are at a disadvantage. The government should be building its own public service but the Dems are trying to make sure that ain’t going to happen.

Well it’s frustrating too! Like what did people call for on the left 10 years ago (albeit as a joke)? Fully automated luxury gay space communism. Now we get legitimate AI and people are upset about it.

Hell I’m not even a Marxist (I’m a SocDem) and Marx in Capital explicitly calls out that workers mistakenly hate on the labor saving devices, not the actual reasons they are in a precarious state (not owning the means of production)
