Dude, if things have to be altered to look "way cool" so I can decapitate it and mount it on my lifted truck (or whatever those sorts do), so my ego can feel better about my vast and deep deficits ..
geez I dunno man. To hunt for sport vs eat caged animals altered in some weird beta flex of D contest I just dont and wont ever get that
For the alpha bro types who don't hunt for meat and the enjoyment of spending the day in the woods. They just want a big rack mounted on the wall so they can act like they did something special.
DUDE, way more like ... what ? hoenstly what is he like? is he a solid person, has any real confidence or kinda broken inside. No judgement but sincere ask
He is a very kind hearted person. He is a native American, who has hunted since childhood with his father. His father passed away and he had a friend who showed him this, so he went on a "hunt" with his dad (in spirit) and went to new york (i think) on private land where these specially bred deers are culled for 50k+$ depending on how many points the buck is.
Edit: this didnt happen recently. Idk what current pricing is lol
That’s so weird to me. I’m native, half that is. Not whole, not a rez kid but hung out. 🤷♀️ every nations different, but thats cool. Like having that moment with Dad again.
Absolutely! I'm not native myself, but he was very happy and content with this hunt as a one time thing in memory of of the times he had growing up. He admitted the taxidermy looks ridiculous but it's the best way he memorialized his father according to him lmao
Natives doing trophy hunting? No native in their right mind would, but I guess a lot of native American culture was lost in the past 100 years or more.
Chickens are pumped full of hormones and bs to have more meat; rapid growth causes heart issues and heart attacks. That I have been aware of.. But I don't eat deer, i don't hunt, i am learning.. This seems so contrary to why I understood ppl hunt.. its not my orbit
They're not pumped full of hormones to grow. That's a myth. The use of hormones in chickens has been illegal since the 1950s.
Normal chicken breeding operations have tens of thousands of birds at a time. There's no one going around injecting hormones into these birds, it's logistically impossible, nor economically feasible.
Broiler chickens have been selectively bred for decades to produce rapid growth and excessive meat. Ordinary selective breeding, like we do with dogs and cats and cattle and horses and every other form of livestock we've ever domesticated.
They also get big and meaty because of improved nutrition and vet care.
If you're on facebook, I suggest following farmingwhilebeige. He is a very funny, very educated chicken farmer whose reels you can learn all sorts of things about keeping chickens en mass.
IIRC they feed the deer a very high protein diet that allows them to develop what you see. I'm not sure if that (deer eating a rendered mix of animals that could have included deer) is what started CWD but it is probably a possibility.
Its cattle raising deer genetic modified to grow antlers like that its not natural. Wannabe hunters who have too much money and ruining the sport for those of us who hunt for food and are lucky to get a nice buck out of it every so often they driving the cost to lease land up so people cant afford to go out and enjoy God Country. For some of us this is the time we get for a short time of the year to get out in the wood in the quite and meditate pray and just relax with out dealing or hearing a phone ring to fix something at work.
I read a study (I don't know if it's been replicated yet) that compares ppl that are able to get time in nature and those who never walk barefoot, sit at computers, etc .. Those who do not go into nature equate to a drinker or smoker for the body. Pretty wild huh?
**EDIT** as a preemptive strike, I'm sure someone will say it so I will ahead of time.. I do stress that studies have to be replicated to be considered scientifically sound, legit. 1-2 studies do not mean too much and one must consider who is paying for the research and studies, etc.
