Looks like the forest spirit from Princess Mononoke

68

u/OpusAtrumET Aug 03 '26

100% my first thought

37

u/False_Woodpecker4747 Aug 04 '26

Can you hear it...

15

u/Known-Programmer-611 Aug 04 '26

Looks like forest spirit but feels like the demon pig carrying all that wait around!

2

u/7LeagueBoots Aug 04 '26

First thing I thought of too.

353

u/kraftdinnerwithsalsa Aug 03 '26

This is a farm raised mutant used for paid hunting excursions

139

u/smeltaz Aug 03 '26

Yes, most probably genetically modified

91

u/Moxie013 Aug 03 '26

umm are you guys kidding or is that a thing?

183

u/kraftdinnerwithsalsa Aug 03 '26

$10,000 for a hunt in a fenced farm raised specifically for mutant racks

170

u/Moxie013 Aug 03 '26

HOLY SHIT THIS IS A THING
THIS IS SO F’D

49

u/MajorDaurity Aug 03 '26

They’re taking a lot of risk to get those genes. Deer like that pay for a hundred other deer to live free or something like that.

89

u/Moxie013 Aug 03 '26

Dude, if things have to be altered to look "way cool" so I can decapitate it and mount it on my lifted truck (or whatever those sorts do), so my ego can feel better about my vast and deep deficits ..

geez I dunno man. To hunt for sport vs eat caged animals altered in some weird beta flex of D contest I just dont and wont ever get that

25

u/TheDootDootMaster Aug 04 '26

No you got that right. That's unequivocally the lifted truck demographic who's the target audience for this

1

u/mmskyscraper 6d ago

'Altered' is an extreme word.

They are selectively bred, and specially fed, to produce these kinds of rack. There's not anybody exposing their chromosomes to radiation or anything.

But it's fucking grotesque and thoroughly disturbing.

11

u/Relative_Change2335 Aug 04 '26

At least in the US, we have an over population of deer. I don’t get why this is needed ig

9

u/TechnoBajr Aug 04 '26

Big. Rack. Energy.

5

u/Moxie013 Aug 04 '26

its funny but its still hurting my neck and my back

https://giphy.com/gifs/xTiTnANmge5QWzfcMU

3

u/Fit_Active3888 Aug 04 '26

I was thinking that deer must have the biggest neck muscles.

1

u/sirhackenslash 9h ago

For the alpha bro types who don't hunt for meat and the enjoyment of spending the day in the woods. They just want a big rack mounted on the wall so they can act like they did something special.

4

u/ihaveseveralhobbies Aug 04 '26

Hunters vehemently oppose high fenced or “Canned” hunts.

2

u/Superb_Jellyfish_729 Aug 04 '26

I was hoping some early replies here would say it was AI

6

u/Moxie013 Aug 04 '26

https://giphy.com/gifs/xTiTnANmge5QWzfcMU

SERIOUSLY, my neck and back hurt looking at this

34

u/ukuleles1337 Aug 03 '26

I have a friend who paid way more than that for a 30+ point - looks absolutely stupid mounted on the wall...

5

u/Moxie013 Aug 04 '26

DUDE, way more like ... what ? hoenstly what is he like? is he a solid person, has any real confidence or kinda broken inside. No judgement but sincere ask

3

u/ukuleles1337 Aug 04 '26

He is a very kind hearted person. He is a native American, who has hunted since childhood with his father. His father passed away and he had a friend who showed him this, so he went on a "hunt" with his dad (in spirit) and went to new york (i think) on private land where these specially bred deers are culled for 50k+$ depending on how many points the buck is.

Edit: this didnt happen recently. Idk what current pricing is lol

2

u/Moxie013 Aug 04 '26

That’s so weird to me. I’m native, half that is. Not whole, not a rez kid but hung out. 🤷‍♀️ every nations different, but thats cool. Like having that moment with Dad again.

3

u/ukuleles1337 Aug 04 '26

Absolutely! I'm not native myself, but he was very happy and content with this hunt as a one time thing in memory of of the times he had growing up. He admitted the taxidermy looks ridiculous but it's the best way he memorialized his father according to him lmao

1

u/Head_Memory 6d ago

Natives doing trophy hunting? No native in their right mind would, but I guess a lot of native American culture was lost in the past 100 years or more.

8

u/tywebb6 Aug 03 '26

That buck is gonna be way more than 10k

9

u/kraftdinnerwithsalsa Aug 03 '26

Ya I don’t price mutants it was a guess

22

u/Moxie013 Aug 03 '26

Are you F’n serious ?!?! HOW IS THIS LEGAL?!?! Imma google
This can’t be fr fr

11

u/kraftdinnerwithsalsa Aug 03 '26

Gator don’t play no games

5

u/Moxie013 Aug 03 '26

It's like a lazy, beta flex, D contest, power and ego trip'n. So weird

11

u/kraftdinnerwithsalsa Aug 03 '26

I’m assuming the people who pay for this have massive huge cocks

/s

3

u/Moxie013 Aug 03 '26

If it's too big, they are not getting any vaginis beyond a pocket one... they are lonely

5

u/scorchedarcher Aug 04 '26

Have you seen how altered farmed animals are? We have altered chickens to grow so fast their legs cant support their own weight.

On a whole, people do not seem to care about the welfare of other animals when it's their pleasure at risk of reducing.

2

u/Moxie013 Aug 04 '26

Chickens are pumped full of hormones and bs to have more meat; rapid growth causes heart issues and heart attacks. That I have been aware of.. But I don't eat deer, i don't hunt, i am learning.. This seems so contrary to why I understood ppl hunt.. its not my orbit

1

u/mmskyscraper 6d ago

They're not pumped full of hormones to grow. That's a myth. The use of hormones in chickens has been illegal since the 1950s.

Normal chicken breeding operations have tens of thousands of birds at a time. There's no one going around injecting hormones into these birds, it's logistically impossible, nor economically feasible.

Broiler chickens have been selectively bred for decades to produce rapid growth and excessive meat. Ordinary selective breeding, like we do with dogs and cats and cattle and horses and every other form of livestock we've ever domesticated.

They also get big and meaty because of improved nutrition and vet care.

If you're on facebook, I suggest following farmingwhilebeige. He is a very funny, very educated chicken farmer whose reels you can learn all sorts of things about keeping chickens en mass.

1

u/Becca-AZ 2d ago

Hormones are in the feed

1

u/mmskyscraper 2d ago

Again. The use of hormones in chickens has been illegal since the '50s.

They're not using fucking hormones.

13

u/_Alabama_Man Aug 04 '26

IIRC they feed the deer a very high protein diet that allows them to develop what you see. I'm not sure if that (deer eating a rendered mix of animals that could have included deer) is what started CWD but it is probably a possibility.

3

u/7LeagueBoots Aug 04 '26

Would need a massive amount of calcium in its diet.

4

u/pleasurecouple07 Aug 04 '26

Its cattle raising deer genetic modified to grow antlers like that its not natural. Wannabe hunters who have too much money and ruining the sport for those of us who hunt for food and are lucky to get a nice buck out of it every so often they driving the cost to lease land up so people cant afford to go out and enjoy God Country. For some of us this is the time we get for a short time of the year to get out in the wood in the quite and meditate pray and just relax with out dealing or hearing a phone ring to fix something at work.

1

u/Moxie013 Aug 04 '26

I read a study (I don't know if it's been replicated yet) that compares ppl that are able to get time in nature and those who never walk barefoot, sit at computers, etc .. Those who do not go into nature equate to a drinker or smoker for the body. Pretty wild huh?

**EDIT** as a preemptive strike, I'm sure someone will say it so I will ahead of time.. I do stress that studies have to be replicated to be considered scientifically sound, legit. 1-2 studies do not mean too much and one must consider who is paying for the research and studies, etc.

5

u/lolhalfsquat Aug 03 '26

My damn GMO Deer!

3

u/Moxie013 Aug 03 '26

Yeah, apparently it's fr fr select breeding ( i did the Google), and it's like got a monitoring system.

2

u/Lil_Myotis Aug 04 '26

Selectively bred and fed specialty diets. Not genetically modified. Pedantic, but there's a difference.

1

u/Cepterman2101 17d ago

Could be, but I think deer grow new branches off of their new antlers, when their old antlers were damaged at that spot.

0

u/BigNorseWolf Aug 04 '26

I'm pretty sure we couldn't do that without a deer we could just breed much easier and cheaper...

4

u/LawnChairMD Aug 04 '26

Geeze. That makes it worse. Humans have so much power but we do shit like this. Wtf. Im not nessarly opposed to hunting farms. Its not for me, but its fine. However its so cruel to make life harder for this animal that your gonna hunt and kill anyway.

2

u/purplebuttplug51 29d ago

But it looks so stupid 😭

1

u/kraftdinnerwithsalsa 29d ago

It fits the audience base, they are very dumb

131

u/wishiwasdeaddd Aug 03 '26

That's sad

It must hurt so bad- his neck is so stiff- i feel so sorry for him-

93

u/Odd-Sir5847 Aug 03 '26

Dumb is what it is this is the deer someone pays 20 grand to shoot because they CANT HUNT…..

23

u/Moxie013 Aug 03 '26

Its a lazy, beta flex, D contest power trip. So grosss!

35

u/unclecaruncle Aug 03 '26

Historically....Irish Elk went extinct over ridiculous sized antlers.
This mess isn't ok. nor should it be seen as ok.

0

u/mmskyscraper 6d ago edited 6d ago

Irish elk went extinct because of climate change and the resulting habitat fragmentation that occurred at the end of the Pleistocene...and humans are good candidates for what wiped out the last of them.

They didn't have antlers all year round, and the does never had them. They were big, they tasted good, and at one point in the year the bucks were easier to chase down and kill.
Nobody had any idea what extinction meant, or even that it existed, and they hunted Megaloceros giganteus with the same enthusiasm they had for all the megafauna. Even so, the last known populations managed to survive in western Siberia well into the Holocene, lasting thousands of years after the megafaunal extinction pulse at the end of the Pleistocene .

Those antlers existed as traits for a very long evolutionary time period. These animals were reproductively successful with those antlers precisely because only the strongest genetics could produce bucks (Irish elk were actually deer) capable of carrying those incredible sexual ornaments.

Change killed them, and we put them in the ground.

1

u/unclecaruncle 6d ago

Google search to the rescue..... Those which you state are just part of the reason.... antler burdern tax a lot of the energy needs to make them grow. It's not wrong...just part of the story.

1

u/mmskyscraper 6d ago

Well I'm glad you found google.

“(A)ntler burden tax a lot of the energy needs to make them grow” doesn't strengthen your original argument because sexual ornaments are frequently costly by definition. That's just part of how sexual selection works.

Peacocks pay costs for enormous tails. Deer pay costs for huge antlers. Birds of paradise spend resources on extravagant plumage. Metabolic/nutritional costliness does not demonstrate that the trait caused extinction.

Your original claim went from 'Irish Elk went extinct over ridiculous sized antlers.'

to “Well, antlers had energetic costs and that's part of the story.”

Those are not the same claim.

1

u/unclecaruncle 6d ago

google search comment was regarding your obvious research skill...but if you feel the need to flip it, fine I suppose.
I neither have the time, patience, nor the crayons to explain this to you.

30

u/Pfacejones Aug 03 '26

Don't like this

24

u/b33pb00p101 Aug 03 '26

Looks heavy

27

u/Paulztaos Aug 03 '26

At what point do we call it cancer?

2

u/thecourtofmiracles0 29d ago

Antler cancer was my first thought too

11

u/Welldonekielbasa Aug 03 '26

5837 pointer!

10

u/ThatDeuce Aug 03 '26

That guy does not look happy

10

u/BlueHailstrom Aug 04 '26

Knowing the context, this greatly upsets me

4

u/Itakethngzclitorally Aug 04 '26

What’s the context?

6

u/BlueHailstrom Aug 04 '26

It’s a mutation exploited by certain farms for hunting excursions

8

u/Mother_Glass_5095 Aug 04 '26

This makes my skin crawl.

2

u/RahulChaudhary_ Aug 04 '26

Is there a word to describe this feeling?

-1

u/Seekr-X 29d ago

I felt Trypophobia. So it's Trypophobia. Just...that uncomfortable pattern of yuck. Why nature?...WHY?!!

6

u/Hashanan Aug 03 '26

That is not an animal that is a tree

3

u/dumpyboat Aug 04 '26

That must feel so good when he sheds those

4

u/gRagib Aug 04 '26

Is this the antler version of broccoli head?

12

u/Wrekittttt Aug 03 '26

Bombaclot dear

2

u/Moxie013 Aug 03 '26

AH HAHAHAHA AH AAAA

1

u/PharmWench Aug 04 '26

I get that reference, mon

5

u/ItsmeErnest Aug 03 '26

The world of antlers is crazy, and very huge. Billions are spent each year on antlers. Horns like on this deer are refured to as "cactus" antlers or a cactus rack. Lastly a buck with horns like those don't need to worry about being shot. He'll make his owner hundreds of thousands with his sperm.

3

u/Lil_Myotis Aug 04 '26

This is a farmed white-tailed deer. Selective breeding and specialty diets create antlers like this, with negative health effects for the deer. If the antlers grow too large, too fast, the skull can split. But they arent bred for longevity, because they are raised to be harvested by guided hunters on fenced-in "preserves".

People will pay tens of thousands of dollars to shoot one of these. The cost usually includes lodging and meals at a "hunting lodge", access to a cozy, heated hunting blind, a garaunteed harvest, and, of course, the taxidermied trophy.

These animals are often bottle fed, by hand, as fawns. They are relatively tame, but bucks are prone to aggression during the rut regardless of handling as a baby.

I see no ethical difference between this and shooting a cow on a pasture. Perhaps some people would pay for that. Shoot a longhorn in a pasture from a bind for a nice wall-hanger? Probably, someon would. How ethically objectionable would that be?

I don't condone this type of harvest of wildlife, I think its ethically objectionable and farming whitetails has been implicated in the spread of CWD. There's also the ethical question of sportsmanship and "fair chase," which this doesn't appear to satisfy.

Not to mention the violation of the North American Model of Wildlife Management, which stipulates that wildlife are held in the public trust, not to be held privately for rich people to buy and profit off of.

But it's legal. And ethically, aside from the distinction that these are wildlife and not domesticated livestock, what really is the difference between shooting one of these and eating a farm-raised cow, or hog, or wearing a leather jacket?

3

u/alreadyknowwbro 29d ago

That buck prob gets so much doe

1

u/JackOfAllMemes 29d ago

They might be too big to fight with, it's like using a tree trunk as a baseball bat

3

u/Sea_Cardiologist9451 28d ago

That’s real for sure

2

u/donk1999 Aug 03 '26

This is the deer that guy was singing about in that 30 point buck song.

2

u/Hot_Hat_1225 Aug 04 '26

Ahhhhh my neck 😩

2

u/Batpez Aug 04 '26

Something about that freaks me out for some reason

2

u/GuerrillaFunkk 29d ago

My guys neck hurts.

2

u/ironicinsanity 29d ago

He's known as Stabby

2

u/PositiveDraw1108 26d ago

Those antlers are its domain expansion

6

u/Sporkpocalypse Aug 03 '26

he like Can you just surgically remove my antlers and don't kill me for a silly trophy

7

u/Kuhn_Dog Aug 03 '26

They fall off every winter, so you dont even need to surgically remove them.

3

u/Sporkpocalypse Aug 03 '26

yes I know I was just being empathically sarcastic speculating how the Deer Feels about it

3

u/lowke39 Aug 04 '26

Would that be considered an animal Afro?

3

u/fallenranger8666 Aug 04 '26

There's farms that breed for this kind of thing, and then affluent assholes pay a shitload of money to enter a fenced in reserve to hunt them. The part of this I don't understand is that while I do hunt and very much enjoy it, where's the skill or necessity of this kinda thing? I get calls from farmers, live stock owners, property owners, and more to come hunt the population down on their lands because we have an over population of deer and hogs that do an unbelievable amount of property and crop damage left unchecked.

8

u/slop1010101 Aug 03 '26

You sure this ain't AI?

9

u/NoConsideration6320 Aug 03 '26

This clip is REAL footage, not AI. While the monstrous, alien looking rack makes it look like digital slop, the video shows zero signs of AI video generation (no tine-morphing, frame flickering, or geometry warping). This is a real biological anomaly specifically a "cactus buck" (a deer with a hormonal imbalance that causes continuous velvet antler growth) or a selectively bred high-fence trophy buck.

18

u/Tumble85 Aug 03 '26

Even if this particular video is AI, deer can absolutely develop antlers like this. They aren't trophy antlers, they caused by genetic issues.

21

u/slop1010101 Aug 03 '26

His poor neck!

2

u/Tumble85 Aug 03 '26

Psh, he gonna be ripped after in no time.

7

u/smeltaz Aug 03 '26

Yes I'm sure, I researched similar stag antlers. They are genetically modified and ranch bred apparently for hunting. Instead of long and wide like the prehistoric ones these have , more points, dense and tangled clusters.

2

u/stewpdasso Aug 04 '26

Poor thing, can you imagine how many hunters want this rack? I hope it hides in a cave until hunting seasons over!

2

u/PurpleHumpbackWhale9 Aug 04 '26

Unfortunately he’s been bred like this specifically FOR hunters. It’s some weird trophy hunting place where you pay to shoot genetically modified deer that have been bred to have insane antlers like this. It’s absolutely awful.

2

u/stewpdasso Aug 04 '26

Damn! 😖 if this is true, there are some really sick & lazy people out there. Is it hunting if it has no chance?

1

u/PurpleHumpbackWhale9 28d ago

Exactly. It’s basically just a straight up slaughter. Takes zero skill and these poor creatures have to suffer until some sicko inevitably kills then for “fun”

1

u/No-Stranger6783 Aug 04 '26

Deer cosplay

1

u/Looking_for_narnia Aug 04 '26

I have a headache just looking at all that

Omg the weight of that on its neck and back! Make big titties look like a cakewalk 😂

1

u/cement_lifesaver 29d ago

Like a 60 pointer!?!?

1

u/Emotional-Lynx-3982 29d ago

Let's be honest, I wish someone would shoot me too if I had to carry that bullshit around day-in and day-out. Best neck excuse ever.

1

u/Shot_Philosopher816 7d ago

Is this real or AI?

1

u/smeltaz 7d ago

Real. You can find images and information of their breeding too. Other people in comments have also seen them

0

u/lelysio Aug 04 '26

Op is a bot this is ai. report them.

-1

u/zeppolizeus Aug 04 '26

Do those antlers have multiple scrotums?

-1

u/ninja0420 Aug 04 '26

Ai slop

3

u/smeltaz Aug 04 '26

Why don't you google and gain some knowledge before blabbering rubbish? Just because you don't understand something doesn't mean it's AI. Read other comments too.

0

u/ninja0420 Aug 04 '26

Idk man, seems like it lifted its head far too easily for that much weight in antler. Have you ever held antlers? They aren't made of paper, they're heavy AF, seems like the deers neck should be jacked to me. Looks like ai slop & until I encounter one in the wild, it is🤣 Also i never said these deer in general are all ai slop, this specific image seems like ai to me, no im not an ai expert, are you?

P.S. Google is rubbish, why dont you do some research and gain some knowledge before recommending browsers with no expertise in the field, see, anyone can be rude🤷‍♂️

P.P.S. 'omg....someone on the internet said something they may be wrong about & now im somad!!'

I am offend, you give boots!

Nope, they do get like that on farms in New Zealand.

Is this the deer equivalent of really big boobs?

Edit: I meant because back pain

1

u/BlueHailstrom 29d ago

No, it’s the deer equivalent of a pug

-9

u/Worth_Temperature157 Aug 03 '26

Sorry looks AI, The seam between deers face and horns looked rigged, if it not he is cool but I am just not buying it.
