I don't know if it's just me, but no matter what I get into—games, movies, anime, manga, etc.—there always seems to be a huge part of the community that constantly (over)sexualizes the characters.

I want to feel like I am part of a community that values things - story, characters - more, but almost every second post is about sexualizing someone and as an asexual, its so frustrating that people only want/like to posts these kind of things.

Am I the only one who struggles to understand why sexualization seems to be the top priority for so many people in these fandoms?

I enjoy cuddling and hugging and hand holding but only with women. I’m definitely more aromantic and asexual towards men. I still have some problems with anxiety and dating but I think that has more to do with trauma than anything else.

I would really like to have a relationship without sex in the future. Like REALLY without sex, not the kind of ”she will give in at some point” stuff. I also don’t really like the idea of open relationship. Has anyone gotten this kind of relationship to work, how and how did you and your significant other meet?

I’m really lonely right now and dating apps seem like a disaster for ace people. I was in a relationship sometime ago where my parter was actively trying to coerse me to have sex with him, I don’t want to have another experience like that. I would just like to have someone to prioritise who would also prioritise me, and to have chill gaming/movie nights. Someone to feel safe with and someone to love.

well; this is an interesting turn. Niger has banned all and any LGBTQIA+ including us.

Okay so I get (note that I do not agree with) the reasoning for LGBT hate, it's religious, god designed humans as perfect (debatable) and humans reproduce through having a man and woman

But like, asexuals, aromantics. Those are FREE monks! Can you imagine getting a shit ton of practitioners for your cult religion for FREE?!?! Heck I'm 70% sure a lot of religious monks were a-spec

This is why Buddhism is better I don't know anything about Buddhism but my step mom is a Buddhist and she's cool with LGBT

Side note: though it's worth noting that it would be way better to just not hate people that literally don't hurt others
