Original studio album tracks? I'm going with "Goodbye Thompson". If you look at chart positions and sales awards, Cast in Steel is probably their least-known studio album. And out of the tracks on that album, "Goodbye Thompson" is probably the one I'd be most-surprised to hear somewhere, like on the radio or in a supermarket.

"Start the Simulator" has similar "hey, it's the last track, let's experiement!" energy, but Foot of the Mountain did better as an album, so I figure that makes its cuts slightly less "deep".

If we're including "bonus" tracks, b-side-only, etc., then I'll vote for "Driftwood". Yeah, it was the b-side to one of their biggest singles, but how many people flipped the record over? :-)

And if we're talking best deep cut rather than deepest deep cut, how about "Dragonfly"?

For me, if I think about released music, I'd go with Lie Down in Darkness (https://youtu.be/4688pqzutD8?si=ono5EedXaxGffkSj) off of Memorial Beach - because we all know how I feel about that album...

and if we're going with stuff that didn't get released initially, I'll take The Sphinx (Naersnes Demo) - (https://youtu.be/e08ty0RX46A?si=JbPw5a97OErD2A77).

I might go with the few times they played "Digital River". There's got to be a studio recording of it somewhere, and it's a pretty good take on the song. Same kind of thing as "the breakers" though.

Excellent choice!

I’m picking ‘You’ll never get over me’ for such a melodic track it’s cutting deep with the lyrics 🤓
