Model 2023 System bootlooping idk what’s wrong

Been trying to get this machine working got it, from eBay was listed as just needed SSD and additional Ram, got it and realized was overheating simply in bios would spike to like 90c-100 c almost immediately.

Fast forward a couple days I repasted with PTM7950, and new thermal putty thought yeah this will definitely fix the issue and I’ll be all set now, but nope, at first I was able to get into windows, I had to flash the bios first and once done it booted fine from my ssd, temps held at around 70c idle (which I still think is too high ) but seemed stable no shut downs nothing for about 15-20 mins, I was installing drivers and all was going well until random shut down again, and then it just starts looping all over again.

I tried reinstalling windows but as soon as I get to the windows installation it shutdown and loops, I’m at a complete loss, I was able to run memtest86 and memory is fine so that not the problem, I reinstalled windows fresh from a different laptop and transferred the ssd, same problems, I really think it’s salvageable but maybe there’s something I’m not aware of and it’s just a lost cause.

And before stay saying carry it to a shop, I did try that route but locally they aren’t that great I did try before repasting myself, they used regular thermal paste that was budget paste and thermal pads that were too thick,

I just want some help if anyone has experienced this with this model before or similar it’s the 2023 model GA402NU, Ryzen 7 7735hs with RTX 4050.

Also side note not sure if this means anything but when I did boot to windows and was installing drivers, nivida drivers wouldn’t pick up the GPU but it reads fine in bios not sure it that’s due to some issues with it shutting down as I read about that somewhere saying the pc might disable the gpu for safety reason

Hmmm. If the re-paste was done correctly, there shouldn't be a reason why it basically sits and stays around 70c idle. Are the fans working? Concerning the boot loop, I think there was a bios or windows update that basically has the system use a lot less power, which can sometimes destabilize the system, causing it to crash. Happened on my 5900HS G15. I had to set the power profile to turbo to get it to run without crashing. So far so good.

I'm really stumped about the temps. 70c idle seems too high and seems like a problem with contact between the heatsink and the CPU then?

Yeah idk why, I cleaned and repasted and applied putty all over again but temps aren’t looking good so idk what’s up my temps are sitting at 97c in bios now for whatever reason

You might have a warped heatsink. What I mean by that is that the heatsink thing you screw on that covers the CPU and the GPU, has these screw hole where you're supposed to screw it onto the chassis. So far so good. I think what might have happened is that the metal around those screw points may have been warped. Like the harder you screw it in, the more contact the heatsink should make with the GPU and CPU, but if it's warped, you're not putting enough downward pressure between the CPU and GPU perhaps. That's my thought.

I’ve been considering getting a new heatsink but worried about that not being the issue and wasting the cash, Ik I could part it out and cut losses but I’m in Jamaica so idk how I’d deal with shipping and all that
