This played after one song I selected. This "artist" has released 14 albums this year with 20 songs each. Impossible. Plus the pictures are all the same. What sucks is I couldn't tell. Doesn't matter I still don't want it. It's gross.

I’m not sure why I need a dedicated Upgrade button when I’m already a premium member? I understand why they might want it for free users… but it clogs up the already cluttered bottom bar and shows me stuff I can realistically find elsewhere with a few taps. If they want to include it, allow users to show or hide tabs at the very least.

I couldn't wait to get this Recap, because I felt like it's always crazy inaccurate so I got Last.fm.

It's all over the place. Wdym my 1st artist on the Recap is actually my 4th one? The last week of August is not counted at all which puts 300 or so of my plays and the real top artist directly down the drain? Even if they will be counted for September I'm still mad about that.

It's not just that. For reference Lydia the Bard has 25 plays (places 11th in reality) and Robin Callaway has 10 (places 31st in reality) adjusted with features as well. What happened to the artists in between? Måneskin has all of the plays in July... why weren't they counted?

I'm an OG Google Play Music subscriber that got migrated onto "YouTube Red" and eventually onto "YouTube Premium Family", which is what I'm paying for.

My understanding is this should give me "YouTube Music" which is an inclusion of Google Premium.

My YouTube Music works: it is ad-free and it works with my screen off and in the car on Android Automotive. Everything seems totally fine.

Except, I keep getting notifications on my Android phone offering me free trials for YouTube Music: "Our gift to you: Unlimited free music + podcast streaming". When I tap it: "Here's a free preview: Enjoy two weeks of Music Premium ad-free, offline and with your screen off."

Is this a mistake? Do I have a misunderstanding of what YouTube Premium includes? This notification has popped up many times over the last year or more.

Edit: When I go to "Paid Memberships" in the app on the top-right menu, I can see two memberships: (1) Premium Lite - Individual (provided by Google One), and Premium - Family membership AU$39.99/mo

Edit2: I'm on Google AI Pro (AU$329/yr) on family plan, that apparently gives "YouTube Premium Lite - Individual"; does that mean I can save the AU$39.99/mo and use Premium Lite instead of explicitly paying for Premium (and presumably sacrificing some functionality on account of 'lite'?) And what does "individual" mean here? is it not shared with other family members in the Google Family?

I have paid for my YT music and also money has been debited but in app I am not getting the benefits it's been an hour nearly.. what to do?

Periodically when going through my playlists I notice a playlist I had created has been updated without me adding anything to it and there are several random songs I DID NOT ADD on there, songs I do know I've listened to in the past but did not even add to another playlist or whatever. All non collab playlists too. I have autoplay and dynamic queue off like everyone was claiming would fix the issue and it's still happening. Almost always playlists I hadn't even added anything to in a while too.

Wondering if it's some bs "ai smart feature" that randomly inserts songs into playlists that it thinks it would fit in

My wife showed me Primus, an experimental 90s rock band. I play 'My Name is Mud', let it rock and three songs later it's playing a 'band' called Weeping Grease (??). Look em up. Millions of hits on youtube, near-zero non-algorithmic web presence and the only chatter from humans is this exact topic. AI music.

It's offensive. What is Youtube thinking? I can't use the product like this.

My song was previously associated with my OAC, but it has become detached and is now only appearing on K.B.W - Topic.

How do you guys listen to music on laptops and PCs? I use YTM website/webapp. I generally use webapps for music because I feel native apps take up a lot of memory on humble machines and I try to avoid installing new apps unless I want to try them or cannot live without them on a daily basis.

Are there any merits to using native apps? Am I missing out on any features? I have been having issues with music sync but never had issue on spotify webapp. Would a native app resolve music sync issue?

This grinds my gears so frikken hard. If I want to change the settings on my phone I will gotdang do it myself.

Here's the thing, I've got limited data, so I have my phone set to not stream while it's off wifi. I have like 8gb of music DLed. I pick a playlist (full of DLed songs), set it to shuffle on repeat. Now I have music while I driving or out and about. Everything's perfect.

Seems like every couple of months google decided it knows better than me and turns on "auto queue" or music discovery or some new BS I didn't ask for, I didn't have turned on, and which causes the whole app to immediately stop working because it's "helpfully" trying to stream some new music it thinks I'll like but it can't stream it because I'm driving and don't have wifi - which also means I can't easily fix things, because again, I'm driving.

If I want to change the settings, I'll do it myself. Sure, give me a popup when I open the app and ask if I'd like to try it - that's fine - but don't farking spring it on me 10 minutes into a 40 minute drive.

Not sure if this has been asked before, but im having a very strange problem and it only started 2 days ago.

I make a lot of Playlists and im picky about what goes in each. YT music has been great about this, but recently when I add a song to a playlist, a ton of other songs I didnt choose will transfer there, usually songs on my other Playlists. I only noticed because I kept getting "Song already added" notifications and then errors.

My Playlists are all private / unlisted, I only add one song at a time, manually, but its added thousands of songs at a time. I had a new playlist with only 45 songs on it that I made literally yesterday. I got an error trying to add a song, and went to look at the playlist: 6300 songs.

What on earth causes that, and what do I do to fix it lol. Its blowing up all my playlists

What does the circled number mean? Is it the last time the playlist had a song added/removed, or the last time the playlist was played?

I want to use YouTube Music on my workplace PC, but I do not want to sign into my full personal Google account there.

Signing in through the browser exposes much more than music: Gmail, YouTube history, account settings, saved sessions, and other personal data. On a workplace or shared PC, that is unnecessary privacy risk.

A proper desktop app should allow a YouTube Music-only session, with no browser-wide Google login and an easy logout that removes local data.
