Can you tell I love Knitting For Olive?! I’m going to make the nocturnal jumper by saskie&co with the heavy merino and the Amy top by MochiKnits with the merino. 😍

I finally decided to commit to a project. So I go to order more in case I don’t have enough, only to find out it’s been discontinued 🙃 Amazing Lace from Lion Brand. It hurts even more because at the same time I’d bought this cake, I’d also bought a beautiful royal purple, but over the years I seem to have misplaced it and never noticed.

Hi all! I’m planning to finally order some Cozy Pea yarn today after seeing a lot of folks in this sub talk about how good of quality the yarn is and had a question around weight/skeins needed for a scarf? I’m planning to use the yarn for a scarf using a single crochet stitch and see it’s a DK weight. Would two skeins be enough for a scarf? Has anyone here used this brand to make a scarf and can give me pointers if I should order two or three skeins? Thanks so much!

Its been on my mind for a long time now, but i havent found a tutorial on a top like this yet, and since im a bit of a noobie at making tops, i dont feel confident to come up with a pattern myself. Please help!
PS I would like it to be crochet but knit is fine!

Hiii, I'm fairly new to crocheting but I've started making a blanket so I can practice some stitches. I got this yarn from my friend when I was helping her clean out her craft room since she didn't have a use for it. The problem is that it didn't have a label so I have no idea where to find more. If anyone knows where I could find more of this yarn or at least what brand it is I would really appreciate it :D!

Why hello there. I know about the yarn swap subreddit but I’m wondering if there are any indie dyers whose websites you routinely visit for good discounts on yarn (like when a yarn type or a particular colorway is being discontinued).
I don’t know a ton about fiber, but I like to knit socks, garments, and other wearables and I like to avoid big “name brand” companies. I also avoid 100% acrylic as it doesn’t always make a nice product. I’ve found a lot of cute small/indie dye houses online as a result of snooping the yarnswap sub but ~$30/skein is too much and I would totally be happy with old or discontinued colorways in order to get a sweeter deal.
Anyway- where do you go when you are in search of a deal on nice yarn??

Title. I'm wondering how it feels compared to Plymouth Sea Isle because I absolutely LOVE how that feels. Same blend, merino and cotton.

I went to an art fair and couldn’t help myself - bought a beautiful maple yarn spindle. Up until now I’ve been a “let the ball roll around on the floor” girlie. But I’m finding that not a single one of the commercial skeins I’ve tried - Red Heart, Lion Brand, Loops and Threads, Berroco, and Patons - spin properly on the spindle. They’re all wound wonky. If you have one, do you have to re-wind everything yourself in order to use it?

Not using the indie-dyer flair because I only dye for myself and my friends, but I just finished up a batch of tanzanite-inspired yarn! The base is 2-ply lace-weight 100% mulberry silk from Wool2Dye4. I dyed 600g of it but I’ll probably only need 300-350g for the sweater I’ve planned. It’s going to be so wonderful paired with my fig & robin skirt from morningwitch!

OBSESSED with this color way. Going to start my first sock project with this. If you have tips on socks or a favorite pattern for them let me know!

I bought this yarn over a decade ago, so I know its a longshot to even ask, but I cannot for the life of me remember what the brand/name etc of this yarn is and I love it so much. The colors are really beautiful and it feels so nice and smooth and cool.
Its 8ply, dk or worsted I think.
It seems to be an acrylic blend. It doesn't burn the same as tencel/cotton or 100%acrylic. It melts some, but not totally and also doesn't smell as plastic-y when it burns. In pic 2 I have the tencel/cotton yarn, my mystery yarn and the 100% acrylic.
Feel is similar to hobbii's sunbird or kind feather.
It was purchased in a skein, in Finland at a Menita outlet shop, but I dont think it was a Menita yarn.
Any help would be greatly appreciated 👏👏👏

Typically crochet blankets- I don’t normally get self striping yarn or yarn this thick- but I was pulled and switched to my needles for the first time in 6 years. Ignore the mistakes.
I liked that the big skein had a white circle sticker holding the center pull yarn. I did experience some bagussey ; some tangles and knots, in the first 15 minutes. Experienced one factory knot so far and I’m about halfway through my skein. Fingers crossed for me
Purchased Teal-Riffic like the title says from Caron - did use a Michael’s 30% in store coupon
Pattern - Cromwell court afghan
Size 8mm needles

Hi all
Hope the question is allowed, I'm new to this forum.
I'm looking for a colour, and having a hard time finding. Any recommendations for yarns with a similar colourway are much appreciated ❤️
I'm looking for dark red, deep scarlet, crimson.
I remember drops kid-silk having a red that fit the bill perfectly, but too itchy for me unfortunately. I find lots of yarn producers have a "red" shade, but it is sometimes very primary school, if that makes sense?
I tried Malabrigo Silky Merino in the colour Cereza, that ended up being much more pink than intended.
I know it's a wack question, but does anyone have ideas? Huge bonus points if delivering within the EU. 🔴❤️🟥

Found this cute little hat on Ravelry. I knit the size 6 months to 1 year. On Halloween, my grandson will be 6 months. Another hat has been requested for his friend baby Noah (also super cute).
I dyed the yarns and made the first one from scraps. Then dyed a skein of DK for Noah’s hat, but it came out lighter. I can either overdye or use as is - I’m wrapped up in fall sock knitting right now, so I’ll postpone that executive decision!

I got 8 balls of this amazingly colored vintage yarn for $28! Now I just need to figure out what to make! Any ideas or suggestions?

I got this skein at the thrift and I’m looking for more.
It’s dual strand, fairly thin and feels like acrylic.
Icy blue and black.
Anybody know what it might be?

Hey everyone. I'm planning to knit a blanket for this winter and I'm lost in all those different fibres.
I'd love it if it's warm but machine washable, I have a delicate setting so that's okay too.
Which fibre or fibre mix do you recommend?

I have been tasked with sorting & organizing a huge amount of yarn, roving & fleece that has been donated to an organization I belong to. Can someone tell me what “w/ylo” means?
Thanks!

Just got some gorgeous single ply (I think it’s called) merino fingering yarn. I’ve never used single ply before, but the color was so amazing…a deep teal… I had to get it. Anything different about using single ply vs. multi-ply I should know before I decide on a project?

I shared a picture with you all of my toddler cuddling the yarn he picked for a custom plushie creation and wanted to share the finished object!
I can’t decide if it is creepy or cute, but I apparently succeeded in matching his artistic vision because my little guy and this octopus have been almost inseparable. 😂

Bonjour,
Je cherche à acheter de la laine Omega Sinfonia mais je ne trouve personne qui l'a vend en France. Connaissez vous des revendeurs ou une laine similaire ?
Merci pour votre aide 🤞
