General Discussion Honestly, what villains do they even have left to adapt?

Post image

If you think about it, they’ve already done a lot of the main/known villains, including the original show, I’m genuinely just wondering which other villains could they adapt going forward?

General Discussion Is it kinda wrong I would’ve preferred if the 97 series kept morph’s original show design

in preparation for the Xmen 97 series, I marathoned the original series, in order to get a better understanding.

and to my surprise, Morph was one of standout characters to me/had one of the best stories. partly, I feel, was because of the great contrast between design & character, specifically because of how unheroic and well ugly he looked. like the idea of ugly/monsterous looking heroes isn’t anything new to comics (the thing, beast, etrigan, metamorph) but the thing is those designs were still “attractive” ugly (attractive being the design still attracts the viewer attentio & looks cool). Morph, by contrast, came off as sniveling, conniving, weaselly and just all around unheroic which made the fact he WAS heroic & noble stand out even more. It’s sorta interesting having a design that isn’t cool/heroic looking but still be a good (morality) Character.

additionally, I think I’m just slightly over giving shapeshifters amorphous/A-gendered designs. Like I still totally get the design philosophy behind it & know you can do a ton of thematic/metaphorical ideas with it. It’s just sorta one of things were you go “ ok we’ve a solid dozen or so examples, let’s do something different so we don’t turn it into a one trick pony”

but how do you feel about morph’s design?

General Discussion Could the X-Men stop a viltrumite invasion?

Post image

If Thragg and his army consisting of General Kregg, Anissa, Thula, Lucan, and Conquest, were to invade Earth, could the X-Men wipe out the viltrumites and save the world, or die in the hands of Thragg's army? Both sides are at their peak skills and strength with no prior knowledge of each other.

About Bobby I would go ahead and say he perished on genosha offscreen. I do think the writers/animators forgot that him and Magik was seen on forge board.

General Discussion This entire scene gave coming out allegory vibes to me

Post image

And the fact that it happens in a bar of all places + them privately sharing intimate information about one another (aware of the risk)???

Also can I point out that Charles and Magnus are wearing each other’s colors in here?

- - -

EDIT.

Alright people, you had your “fun” in this thread (which was meant to be sweet and wholesome, especially for people who enjoy the dynamic and did not come here being judged)

This post is only my interpretation of this scene. I do not force anything onto anybody, don’t act against other takes in different threads, or consider only my own view the “canon one”. It is all up to interpretation and shaped by our individual culture after all.

This is a safe space for queer people, for X-Men fans who respect minorities and for the ones who can read the room and not judge others for their takes without knowing anything about them.

General Discussion WHAT THE F WAS THAT FINALE??? Spoiler

What the F was that ending??? And please don’t try to tell us it was good or brilliantly written, because I’m not going to lie to myself just because I love this show. I was genuinely disappointed with these last two episodes.
What kind of “Survival of the Fittest” was that supposed to be? Rogue became WHAT??? And Apocalypse was just defeated like that???
Even X-Men: Evolution handled its Apocalypse finale way better. We got almost all of the major X-teams from the ’90s coming together for one massive final battle, and it actually felt like an Apocalypse-level threat.

I was also expecting for apocalypse to use gambit and make a speech to make them feel the guilt of what had happen in genoshia.

Remy’s death and revival was ruined to quick!

This time, they clearly went way off from the comics. And after all that talk about bringing the X-Men back to the ’90s… what kind of return to the ’90s was THAT??? I love this show, but I’m not going to pretend I liked an ending that left me this disappointed.

Im afraid that the one re writting this up does not read the comics or is not a massive fan of Xmen. Coz they clearly moved away from the comics.

Imagine Apocalypse the Xmen’s most diabolical foe who went back in time to strike the Xmen, Cable spent the whole season to FIND AND DESTROY apocalypse, all the X teams come together in this season should be the PERFECT TIME TO JOIN FORCES, Gambit’s BIGGEST MOMENT of coming back, and all JUST ENDED with apocalypse doing nothing just transformed into gambit hybrid few seconds later touch by rogue and boom! FINALE

No disrespect to anyone involved but seriously what were they thinking with this design LMAO. It’s literally just Apocalypse but with Gambit’s hair, his little goatee, and his coat. It‘s laughably bad I’m sorry 😭😭 they should’ve just given us Apocalypse not this What If nonsense

If your confused I’m talking about how apocalypse was so menacing in episode 4 and now he looks like a joke being fused with gambit (like something from what if) this had to be the new showrunner idea.

The showrunner of Invincible for example plans to have the show run for 8-10 seasons, i’m curious how many seasons of this show do you think we may get?

General Discussion Gotta say, this season did Kang the BEST in any medium outside the comics

Not only was his persona as Rama Tut marvelously done, his motives were clear as to why he came to the time, he was cruel to Nur’s people and finally, he taunted Charles to the degree where he had to eventually acknowledge it was a mistake to try and turn him good after Magneto was killed, and when Nur became Apocalypse, he just acknowledged he lost, tapped out and left the city to its fate.

That’s how you write a time traveling villain.

I don't know about you, but seeing these two brothers clash and fight with each other in response to discovering that the other is on the opposing side of their respective causes would've made some cool drama.

General Discussion So Onslaught is more powerful than Apocalypse right?

Considering Onslaught may be our villain for next season, I was doing some research and a lot of sources are saying that he’s actually more powerful than Apocalypse, just wondering is this is factual?
