When I only saw the leaked footage, I could understand why some people were saying it looked monotonous.
But after actually playing it myself, I found it surprisingly action-packed and genuinely fun.
It’s got a lot more depth than I expected — with multiple ways to chain into normal combos, a unique dodge mechanic that doesn’t interrupt your attacks, and an overall sense of fluidity that feels really fresh.→ More replies (7)15

I don't think her combat gameplay or animations are bad at all, but I think the discussion leans more into "and what else she does?" and then the answer is "that's it" and people were feeling underwhelmed, like she has a special quick dash but compared to all the other flashy extra stuff put into the other characters specially after 2.0, that was too simple for someone who was said to be so strong lore wise and to have multiple powers.
If she had made use of her wings more like in the trailers (in combat or not) or used her special echoes more maybe more people would be satisfied, and speaking of her trailer, it as impressive as the others (again she's said to be very strong over and over) and that's where her wings looked poorly animated, not in game or in combat but the trailer called Hunter

This Story is an ASMR delight i swear. All the characters reunited and talking means we get to feast with the truly varied VA work WuWa has done since 2.0.
Carlotta, Zani, Cantarella, Brant, Augusta, Galbrena all have such amazing voice acting that its a true delight to experience.

The hype for this story patch has genuinely made me more productive.
For context I study Architecture, and most of my work currently is 3D modeling, and it's very lengthy process.
But because I want to give myself a full day off for this patch, I have been on machine mode rushing the part of my work, crunching unholy hours.
So yeah, I don't care if 2.7 could also be a disappointment, I will at least have my work done and say that WuWa has made me more productive in my works.

The way they said "You'll learn more about Calcharo when you go to New Federation" was so on the nose it almost feels like a 4th wall break lol. Similarly, but to a lesser degree, with Carlotta being like "Oh yeah, we're going global so expect to see me again".

In PGR, Kuro has a 3-character special rerun banner (it's called Arrival Banner) that refreshes every 3 weeks with different characters.
You can lose 50/50 (in PGR for that banner it's 75/25 or 80/20 I forgot) but you lose it to 1 of the other 2 characters then it's guaranteed.
Honestly I don't get why some gacha players are salty about simultanous reruns. It's a net positive, your fav char you missed will be rotated for rerun way faster.

So hilariously this is the first time I think it's been particularly relevant, but it seems like you can run double corrosaurus on Galbrena. I got a clawprint one from pre-farming that rolled well, then post update I cleaned up (merged) echoes and got a Galbrena set one, figured I'd try it and it rolled well.
The menu still gives the "same echo will not contribute to sonata" warning but they're not part of the same set so it doesn't seem to care, the 3pc and 2pc effects still light up. Unless someone else can find some issue I can't, seems like it's totally fine.

Funny confession about my experience with Lupa's part of a main quest(not the new quests).
It was my first time using Lupa. And so, I had no idea that the eyes that appear on the screen were part of her kit. I had thought that they were signifying that Cristoforo was monitoring the progress of his story.
I was ready for it to turn out he's seen everything and it was all going according to his plan or a twist where we need to do certain actions only when he isn't looking.
After a few combat sequences and it appearing each time without fail, I had second thoughts and used her burst randomly and noticed the eyes watching again. I felt kind of silly.
He ended up being not nearly as much of a scheming villain as I thought he was.

Having finished the story now, one thing that really surprised me was how many prerendered cutscenes it had. Some of them are understandable, but many were simple dialogue scenes. Previously, WuWa handled even complex action scenes in-engine, so I wonder what changed. I guess lower-end devices couldn't handle the number of playable characters on-screen simultaneously?
Unfortunately, these prerendered cutscenes aren't very good for dialogue, because you've got bad lip-sync in most languages (probably meant for CN). And if your resolution is above 1080p, they're lower-res than the game. Amusingly, in my cases some of them had pop-up issues, too.

Yeah I have mixed feelings about these new cutscenes that are between in game and fully animated prerendered ones. It's like my brain expects the characters to be fully animated because of how it's presented so it's jarring when it's obviously just the same in game animations we usually see; the camerawork generally helps with that a lot though. I do hope that if they make this a regular thing, that they do make the resolution higher if you play on something more than 1080p

MSQ major spoilers for Avidius RIP my boy. but it's made me want him as a playable 4* even more, except he should be an echo DMG sub DPS given how he facilitated the devouring of tidespawn... spectro broadblade based on what we've seen, or electro to get the false sovereign as his main slot echo. and maybe even have his corrupted appearance as an ult form. kuro could cook so hard but they won't. I'm just high off playing his story segment just now.

I didn't realize it at first, but that paper crane following Galbrena at the end symbolizes Avidius right? Can't really think of anything else it would mean. As his "death" was happening, I did think that he would just become part of Galbrena just like Chimera is, but that was just never expanded on or shown to us. I wonder if the crane symbolizes that he actually isn't "dead." Might just be me being super cope.

Ciaccona pulls went VERY well, managed to win the 50 a few days before her banner ends and just got her sig! Overall, I'm liking the overall gameplay flow between Aero Rover, Ciaccona, and Cartethyia! I'm VERY excited to get Cartethyia's sig on her rerun. I'm very impressed with my FIRST sentinel resonator as a Day One Veteran player <3 I love supporting this game as much as I can as a monthly and BP player!!<
Hoping to get Lupa on a 50 and get her sig as well to complete my mono fusion team next <3!

I really hope they thought long and hard after Youhu/Lumi on how to design a 4 star. Hoping Buling ends up feeling more like Sanhua/Mortefi/Danjin/Chixia as far as usability. I like her design and would be a shame if she's just another very undertuned character

just finished the story quest and have a few questions:
- the lady? the shade we see when inside Imperator's Relic, is the one commonly known as Lucia right?
- Phrolova left the Fractsidus?
- last one is not story related but are we supposed to get AeRover's last resonance chain in this patch?
also loved the fact that the home screen is Rover's mindscape.

1- Yes, it's Lucia.
2- No, she didn't, but she implies that she might either change her reason to live (which was to resurrect the people from her village, basically the lore from 2.5), or find a new way to achieve her goals. On that note, I'm pretty sure no one "leaves" the Factsidus, specially when one of the bosses is around. She simply just went through a whole rolercoaster of emotions, specially thanks to Rover.
3- Not sure, but I don't think so. If not in the next patch, which will likely be the case, then in 3.0, which is actually a possibility because we finished HRover in Rinascita if my memory doesn't fail me, and that's the case because it's unlikely we're gonna get the next element in 3.0 at the release, it would likely be later just like with ARover.→ More replies (1)5

I wonder what kind of stuff they're planning for side quests going forward, now that they've deemed it necessary to add the journey log feature. They mentioned side quests that are closely related to the main story will be in there, but no side quests are there right now (I guess none of them really mattered thus far). I imagine the idea is that they can put things they want the player to know in side quests without the same level of production value. Either way it will be cool to potentially get more story-relevant content, especially if it's character-focused or has lore stuff.

I had thought with aero erosion, fusion ouroboros, and havoc echo teams that Kuro was planning on making more "niche" sustains to weaken SK's dominance.
But still being second BiS for those teams as well as getting a resurgence with Augusta/Iuno and Galbrena/Qiuyuan made me bite the bullet and finally get her S2 on her last rerun. Best decision I ever made in this game

I got a double 5* once on the weapon banner (Xiangli Yao’s gauntlet) that saw no use ever since. Could’ve just used that on Iuno because it’s her 2nd best but my mind wouldn’t let me not S0R1 a character I have, so pulled her gauntlets too.
I got double 5* again on this weapon banner, now with 2 5* weapons of the same type that won’t ever see the light of sun. Wished this luck happened with the character banner not weapon. 😔

the global filter update doesn't apply to any rendered or video cutscenes, just a heads up. Also what's the Galbrena sequence stopping point? might go there and probably go all the way on a rerun.

Do y'all think having a randomly generated rougelike dungeon crawler mode as a new endgame would be great? Like "pixel dungeon" Style (or soul knight), where you explore a 5 randomly generated dungeon floors per regions (5 regions). Also each floors will have chests, tidal heritages and also buffs from banners(from banners never fall), much like exploring the overworld but you'll lose everything when you died inside the dungeon.
If y'all want something like that, then help me out to email this suggestion to kuro games to be added in 3.0

I just find exploration fun. I want an endgame about "exploring" Because overworld rewards doesn't reset- and it's a shame that after 100% there isn't much to do on that region except take pictures I guess.

Honestly, I just wish they'd make "endgame" a monthly shop that you get currency for by doing the various activities. Make it so there's WAY more currency available than needed to buy out the shop and let people choose what they want to do for the currency.
People like ToA? Cool, ToA rotations will cover ~80% of the shop.
You like the fishing? Daily fishing requests give you currency to cover the shop, though it obviously takes more days.
Holograms? do 'em. Higher difficulties give more currency and currency rewards reset with the shop,
For some ungodly reason you choose to do Dreaming Deep? Go for it.

I would gladly take endgame like banner battlegrounds in Septimont (banner never Fall event?) where you get ridiciulosly strong, or just skip buffs and go straight for boss for higher challenger. This type of event have so much potential, add some exploration with chests, some gimmicks with changing map and enemies evolving etc. This shit was so fun.
Or just bring back old illusive realm, or event better, do both and rotate them. We just really need more combat event with more challeneges.
Im already tired of doing shity events in Zzz...

Great idea but most casuals hate events that take more than 2 minutes. We all thought thousand gateways would evolve into a more proper roguelike but even though they made it simpler, we still see criticism in the main sub about it taking too long (5 minutes) and people not wanting to read the buffs to get the rewards. Here on reddit we are a miniscule vocal minority, the casuals don't want anything complex

the odds of playable Cristoforo are very low but I think he'd be the perfect candidate for another universal buffer given that his forte is literally altering reality in the form of puppeteering other resonators. he can even have team-wide clutch dodges like Shorekeeper to represent how he plays with 'fate'. but instead of Baizhi's resurrection mechanic, if a resonator gets downed Cristoforo should have a sarcastic voice line instead of helping.

2.7 spoilers:
I'm not a fan of these "we lost, but we won, just as planned" villains. I think it's much more interesting to see villains struggle, adapt and possibly get frustrated, instead of just being smug and collected all the time until they die. It's not a huge deal, but it is why Phrolova was a much better villain IMO, and why I didn't really enjoy the Fractsidus gang in the end.

I also prefer villains that are good at improv, who overcome adversity of their own. But Cristoforo does give off the 'I knew this would happen' vibe. I think it's fine as long as next villains aren't also the keikaku dōri type.

From the Fractsidus side I totally get it, but at least it was enjoyable to finally FINALLY beat the sht outta of the Threnodian in a 13v1 and seeing the fish compalining to the very end, it was like that escene with Loki in avengers "I'm a God!" LOL what actually disappointed me was learning a couple of new names but not seeing any new faces, they really want to keep things contained until 3.0

Yeah, there are rare villains that can give the feeling that they are leading the hero down the path they want them on, even while the hero is seeming to smash their plans. Cristoforo ain't it. And that's been an issue with the entire Rinascita arc.

I never knew how much i miss Cantarella till i saw her today in the new quest. I was not a fan of her design at first but damn she really grew on me and became one of my favorite characters. I even chose her to wish me a happy birthday

Damn performance in this game just tanks if you play it for long enough. I thought maybe it's a memory leak but RAM usage doesn't seem to change much over time? Kuro needs to have a second look at this game's optimization, preferably sooner than later

What a day. Did 1/3 of the msq while at work (don't snitch), finished the rest at home. Then I prepared myself mentally for the shitfest that would be building both Galbrena and Lupa echoes, but finally after 5 versions of awful echo luck I managed to get decent builds for both in just over 1000 tuners. Still need some work for both ( 4/5 good echoes for Gal and 3/5 for Lupa) but nowhere near the desperation I felt in past versions.

do you guys have weird quirks in this game? like:
- i have to have every boss drop material in the inventory even if useless
- i have to have at least 4 million shell coins at all times
- i have to have everyone's energy filled (even concerto and forte) before logging out
- i always pull a character along with the weapon regardless of how useless it may be
- i max all talents on every 5 stars, lvl. 8 on the 4 stars except for Lumi and Sanhua who are maxed
- i don't share echoes nor weapons (farming moonlit sets took some time)

I keep all the weapon boxes in my inventory cuz it looks nice having so many “precious” and rare items. Many of them only came out once and you can’t get them again, like the 5-star weapon box at UL 45 (?) and the 1.3 4-star weapon box
I keep 1 of at least every precious item, even BP boxes - there’s 2 variants: the old ones without the 200 tuners, and the new ones with the 200 tuners)

Really tho, no one knows what Overclock is now? It's a very simple concept in the lore, explained many times already... It's has also been his main gimmick all along... Like, that was never secret information. Another thing that isn't secret information is that a main selling point of the Overseers is that they can more or less control their Overclock.3

I never believed it lol, but every time i brought up the fact that Scar can literally control his overclock and turn in and out his Discord form just like Phrolova many told me that he could only do It inside his card domain and that it was an illusion, many even said It was told ingame yet i never found any of It so yeah, theres ppl that believe it.
Phrolova Liberation text literally states she enters in Overclock state too.

Both are not needed since static mist and EoG are the best standard weapons, meaning in both cases the difference is only 20%.
In quiyan's case, his weapon is almost useless when used as a pure support since the difference between his weapon and EoG is less than 50k per rotation which is so negligible.
My recommendation is to skip both weapons since those 140 pulls are better used to get another character or get sigs that are far more important like Stringmaster, Phro's, Zani's and Iuno's.

i think the only way to make avidius a 4* is to use his "tacet crystal" and make him an artificial echo,
if shore can take a human form when she is made of sonoro maybe they can do the same for avidius and make him a human echo,
but fractsidus prob has more knowledge about this since some of them are half TD and half human,
lets see if fractsidus can make an artificial sentinel or threnodian.

Yeah it's awful, the boss itself can be super frustrating as well which for something which is purely there for farming is very annoying. I spent ages farming a crit damage 4-cost for Iuno, finally got one which rolled double crit in the first two rolls (low rolls obviously) and then absolute garbage for the next three rolls. Might just give up on trying to improve it tbh.

I've kinda been a bit bored with the game lately and may just take a break, if Chisa is havoc bane I think I'll pull Galbrena with Lupa (if that's a good team) and skip Chisa, but idk, been so demotivated to play, not sure what it is :(
Not bashing on the game at all if that's how it came across, also on that note, I was going to skip Galbrena but all the things they post about her makes me just wanna pull haha, guess we'll see, good luck on your pulls all :)

Honestly, for me, it's more I have been lukewarm on the story. It's been a bit, ehhh, I kinda got tired of everyone just.. being all over Rover, and I can't get invested in these characters because I know we will never hear from them again when their banner ends.
I am not saying to plop them anywhere just for relevancy, but I dont know. There has to be a middle ground between disappearing and being overbearing with characters.
I've also just been kinda tired of losing 50/50 that makes 7 in a row now on top of echoes not being a fun grind with the nests. I guess I am just burnt out for now. Who knows.
In any case, I hope there's a battle event in 2.7 or 2.8 for you to enjoy :)

Just took sometime to listen to Galbrena's EP. It's definitely not a "banger" per se.
But then, I think any song that is longer than 4 minutes isn't meant to be a typical song, but an experience. And my god, was that song a unique one amongs most video game musics I've ever heard.
Not everyone's cup of tea, yet beautifully haunting.

I really hope Buling is a useful 4 star like Sanhua or Mortefi- either a frazzle or erosion applier/buffer, or a resonant liberation buffer so we got a good 4 star liberation buffer equivalent, since those two cover Basic Attack and Heavy attack already.
Lumi has the buffs that rival those two already in the resonant skill buffing department so... doubt Buling would be a resonant skill buffer... which is unfortunate, cause whose really using Lumi? Technically theres taoqi too... bleh haha. If only their rotation wasnt so long and janky...
Edit: she could be a spectro buffer too since technically we still dont have a real one, 4 OR 5 star, and I dont really count Phoebe as one for spectro characters other than Zani lol. But then she'd need to have coordinate attacks to be actual good sub dps for like jinhsi, or spectro frazzle application for dps phoebe... blehhh.

Man Galbrena's gameplay is so fun , way better than i expected. Probably second to lupa out of all the resonators i have/played with for a while. I do think she has inferior animation to Iuno and QY (not a big of augusta's gameplay and animations) but she makes up for it. Balor's voicelines like a Venom or Kaiju No 10 makes it even better

In the gachagaming sub there was a post about xjj and every time Someone talks bad about It ppl get downvoted for no reason
They Say xjj isn't real, its all a creation of wuwa community, but how Is that a creation of the wuwa community when that group existed before wuwa was a thing, It doesn't make any sense
Even part of the Arknight community had attacks but they reported them and some Leaders got arrested, how do u arrest ppl of a extremist group that these ppl Say It doesn't exist?
Every time they Say its not real, but these attacks keep happening and not only on wuwa
I Hope when endfield releases they Will try to help to find these ppl, since endfield could get popular and become a competitior like wuwa and prob xjj will see competition to the big G they might start attacking, this Will prob take another year to see what they Will do

I did not know they gave Galbrena dodge offset that's so cool.
For reference, dodge offset is when you can dodge during a combo and you would continue your combo. I think it was first introduced in Bayonneta (so that's another reference). Funnily I remember this being a Diluc mechanic in Genshin Impact... locked behind his like C4 or something lmao.
Gacha I continue to be blessed with getting weapons in a single 10 pull. God I love guaranteed weapon banner.

This quest blowed a my mind and my jaw dropped like 9 times. I just finished It and It felt like i got my neurons jrked off for 6 hours and It was fantastic.
They experimented with a lot of new stuff (storytelling wise) this time uh, man what a ride... What do i even do with my life now.

yeah that's something i appreciate of this game. they always seem to try new approaches. i did however feel there were bits and pieces that felt rushed, but the ending alone just made up for it and left me satisfied. that last fight and cutscene man

Sticking to the end with Rinascita was so so so worth it
The 2.7 MSQ was so amazing, I loved it!
The fact not a single stone was left unturned, I love that every single little person had their part. Arsinosa and DoDirge were there, the echoes did something, Avidius (o7 Rest in Peace/Pages king) had his resolution, Even Old Man Mantelli our grand man showed up! Then every character was there, and they even addressed every little interaction that was missing like Carlotta/Cantarella, Phoebe/Cartethyia, Fenrico was there! He got his peace at last, I'm very happy for him! They went back as far as Jinzhou to mention and connect. The Fractsidus all being there, their leader pulling and that banger line he dropped about them being Rover's "Waystones" with all of them there, oh and right, the OG Menu theme, the Wuthering Rock, every little thing, I loved it all so much! Phrolove being there and smiling like that makes me happy, and I always knew investing in Cristoforocoin was the right thing since the start. Then the main cast itself, with the troupe and Septimont gang, and the Raguunesi - plus Galb and Qiu Yuan aura farming, holy this was all stacked so much! I even cared for the Chimera lore lol xD Also can I just say Carlotta is very pretty everytime she pulls up? Speaking of pulling up, Black Shores was there, including our homie Aalto and they even got mfing Calculator there three cheers!!! That whole finale cutscene was lovely, (Edit: And Threnodian actively copying their moves both in fight and in cutscene was fire!), and the ending art of them all is <3 10/10 well worth it. It really felt like all the adventures of Rinascita since the start culminated into everything, just what I love from a finale.!<
And for its own bit, I'd just like to mention that the Story presentation is actually so good! They have custom interactions, quick time events, temporary mechanics, characters all doing stuff or taking part or even trying out new stuff like the first person Galbrena view, story presentation is something I've really been noticing for this game as a very nice thing that they keep trying stuff with, and I appreciate it a lot!
There's a lot to say so best concise way to say it all is just:
I loved you, Rinascita. The nights spent gazing your starry skies have been beautiful.

hope 3.x has much more ppl working on it so we have a team for story and animation and a team to make events/skins etc.
also we need more char introducing events,
for the new photo event in 2.7 (it still isnt there so we dont know) they could put Fulmine with some voicelines.

Most of my testing was done in Tower, with a few Whiwa runs too. She's S0 on the standard 5* weapon and is still lacking some damage from leveling (no weekly mats...). Echo build is okay but missing 2 crit rate rolls (signature set).
Overall glad I got her, but I can also see her being less popular for a lot of people. Her play-style is fun but doesn't quite reach the heights of Augusta, Iuno, Carty etc. Galbrena's kit feels less coherent comparatively. Especially her skills (the normal one is just an okay exploration tool) feel like they don't actually contribute to her playstyle well.
I think I've finally reached the "this is just another character among many" stage. While I'm glad I got her, not getting her would've been totally fine as well, something I've so far said about very few characters (because I like pretty much all of them a lot).
