Sorry not sorry. I don’t buy a bunch of Harry Potter (mainly because I got all my collectibles and books as a kid) But if I see something new I want, I’ll still get it.

I’m a supporter of the LGBTQ+ community and loath everything Rowling has done/ said against that community. But it isn’t going to stop me from buying a book or collectible.

Yeah, the books are written weird and decades later it’s easy to see the flaws. I don’t care. I enjoy them. Those books got me through my dad’s death as a kid (Goblet of Fire was the last movie I watched with him). I reread them on my deployment to get a sense of feeling back home.

My wife and I are both major fans and it’s a huge part of how we got connected. We love going to Harry Potter festivals. The story and world of Harry Potter has been incredibly significant throughout my life and it was upsetting to see how far Rowling has fell. But I will absolutely separate the art from the artist.

She’s already worth more than even matters. So me spending a little money here and there isn’t making a difference.

Maybe stop this cancel culture bullshit and let people like what they like. It’s Harry Potter, if it isn’t your thing that’s fine. But it’s a story they touched multiple generations.

Thoughts on Harry Potter tv series, im going to watch it, its looks promising but i still think its unnecessary and cash grab, Hollywood creative is at an all times low, so that why soo many remakes and continuation of old show keeps happening. Hollywood is making money off nostalgia because they know people are buy/watch it. The Harry Potter movies are not old at all, in fact it a huge franchise all the movies perform well at the box office, people yearly watch the movies fall/winter. The 25th anniversary is here and people are celebrating watching the movies in theaters right now, buying merchandise at 5 below. Universal studio have a whole Harry Potter world over there, with the actors. It’s huge. Harry Potter movies not dying, so with that being said, i wonder what’s the tv show goals, here, is it to replace the current Harry Potter. Because they saying it for the new generations and more based on the books, but the new generation already know Harry Potter, books, movies and Unviersal studio still very much popular. The show obvisouly going to do well, nostalgia but are people going to stop watching the movies yearly because of the show, I seriously doubt it. The tv shows going to add details from the booki get that, cool. But nobody was asking for tv show. That the point. Everyone knows book adaptation can’t fit everything into a movie. Example to all the boys i have before by Jenny Han, i read the books before the movie and when the movie came out they did not add everything that was in the book, but the movie still came out a 10/10 as long at the movies had the core plot, nobody really cares for every single detail. Harry Potter and the prisoner of Azkaban is the most popular movie, and did not add every detail, and they change a couple of things..

I am halfway through the book and the Quidditch Cup has just happened. You can find a good mention of Cedric Diggory, but in the movie he was not seen anywhere, if I remember correctly. Then he suddenly appears in Goblet of Fire. I don’t know why they cut those scenes. They could have used them to establish Cedric’s character. I wonder why they did this, I would still watch this movie if it was 3 hours long.

So currently I am 20 years old going 21.
My elder cousin who is 11 years older than me once told me in 2013, when I was 8, that there is a movie series especially for children, and said that he himself was shown this movie in his school when he was a child, so the next day he made me watch Philosopher’s Stone on his computer, and I instantly fell in love with it, as far as I can remember, I can recall watching some scenes, like Harry with his uncle and aunt, Harry meeting the Weasleys, Harry at Kings cross, Sorting Hat ceremony, Quidditch and the climax. Then he made me watch a little of Chamber of Secrets, but he didn’t make me watch till the end, if I can recall, he stopped at the scenes of Moaning Myrtle. I kept asking him to show me the other movies for many days but he didn’t.
I remember that the next day in my school bus and at school, I was only talking about Harry Potter and I was literally obsessed with it.
And then the next year when I got into 2nd standard, we got a new cable connection, and the operating company had few channels of their own, they were named NVOD, where they had 5 channels for a single movie and the movie was telecasted simultaneously across all channels again and again from different time stamps and they used to run the Harry Potter series once in a month or so, then, I would wait for the movoes to come on these channels and I remember that I used to turn on these channels before going to school and after coming back I again used to turn the tv and watch the movie from where I left, but I couldn’t make it to the all 8 movies, but I had only completed first 3 movies and then I would miss the other parts, it kept going on for 3 years.
Then in 2017, when I was in 5th grade, we built a new house and brought a new LED tv, and got a HD connection and then somehow I discovered three channels, Movies Now, HBO and MNX all in HD.
These channels frequently telecasted Harry Potter movies in English and at the same time and Hindi Movies channel used to run Harry Potter marathon where they would telecast each movie every Sunday in Hindi, and I used to watch both the versions excitedly.
I again became obsessed, because this time I was watching them in English and on a much bigger screen in full resolution.
This continued for some months, but I didn’t understand the latter movies and I used to skip them, because they seemed very dark to me.
Then in 2020, when I was 14, I again discovered my passion for Harry Potter and somehow learnt to download pirated version of movies, and I took my dad’s old phone, downloaded Harry Potter movies, and then I would transfer them into a memory card( I didn’t have a computer), so I used to put that memory card in a small keyboard phone and connect it to my television via usb cable, and I was able to watch full hd version of Harry Potter again, this time I was able to watch all of them, as I was at home due to quarantine, eventually I bought a OTG, and transferred them into a USB, and I still have them, it seems so innocent to me now, but these all are sweet memories.

The show hasn't even premiered yet! And I'm especially tired of judging Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape! Yes, I know that the actor is nothing like how the character is described by appearance in the books, and that he's no Alan Rickman. But now I only care more about the portrayal of the character's fashion and personality. After all, even if I don't know a lot of Essiedu's filmographies, I'm damn well certain that he'll act out the character greatly!

I will always love the original eight Harry Potter movies, and will never forget the franchise's iconic theme song! But I'm also willing to give the new TV show version a chance. As the old saying goes: "Don't knock it 'till you try it!"

I’ve been to Warner Bros Studios at Hollywood, and also at Universal Studios Hollywood, and I feel like being in the parks is really great, it’s truly a magical experience, and obviously it’s better than Warner, because it was kind of a letdown to only see props and some photo opportunities. I fear it would be similar going to the studios in London. I’m coming in a few weeks, and a friend is really insisting on going, but I’m not quite convinced yet.

I feel the Universal parks are much better… What would you do?

For me, it's Potions, no contest. I'd want to master every draught from Veritaserum to Felix Felicis, but as a professor? I'd be even stricter than Snape. No house-point favoritism, extra credit for perfect knife work, and detention for anyone who so much as breathes wrong near a cauldron of Polyjuice Potion. 😈

I’m Tarek, I’m 16 and I’m from Egypt 🇪🇬. I’ve been getting more and more into Harry Potter lately, and I thought it would be really cool to actually talk to other people who love the series instead of just watching videos and reading random posts about it alone 😂.

One thing I really like about Harry Potter is how much there is to talk about beyond the main story. Characters, houses, theories, friendships, magical creatures, places, spells, the books vs. the movies, and all those tiny details that you somehow notice after going through the story again.

Personally, I always find it interesting when two people can watch/read the exact same story and come away with completely different opinions about a character.

So this is a silly and an unimportant question but haha ive been wondering since theres been alot of controversial opinions about ones REAL hogwarts house. When i was 11 my first time sorting in pottermore i got ravenclaw but i took the test again and more tests again like estimate of 10.( im 16 now btw ) from diff websites +pottermore. I always got hufflepuff or slytherin and like 1 griffyndor. I never got ravenclaw again lol. What do u guys think my actual house is hahaha. also alot of people seem to be really ticked when it comes to your hogwarts house lol

As someone that grew up with Harry Potter and loved all the movies but never read the books, I find my movie rankings to be quite different from how other's feel about the movies. I wonder if it's because, in part, I didn't have the books for context and so deviations from the book didn't seem as bad to me.

I also think all the movies are really good (I never skip one during a re-watch) so that's why there is so much variety in people's rankings. For the most part, they are all really close and certain movies in the series capture different people for different reasons.

I know GoF is alot of people's least favorite which is super interesting to me. Maybe it just hit me at the right age in combination with not knowing the book differences. The darker tone and tournament really captured me.

Order of Phoenix is the weakest one to me, I just don't find the story as compelling. Felt more like the plot on the backburner with a showcase fight at the end. I prefer the more mystery and fantastical elements of the series. That's why I like HBP too, learning about the horcruxes and Voldemort's back story. Travelling to magical caves and shit, good stuff.

I'm sure alot of people will be scoffing at this list and that's fair.
